Avalanche at Golden Knights: Projected starting goalies
Philipp Grubauer vs. Marc-Andre Fleury
Grubauer is 10-8-2 on the year, but he enters Monday on a personal three-game losing skid. He gave up four goals in regulation in two of his last three outings. He has a .913 save percentage and 2.86 goals against average through 21 starts.
Fleury is 14-7-3 through 24 starts and one relief appearance with a .915 SV% and 2.63 GAA for the year. He had the night off Sunday in the Golden Knights’ 3-1 road win over the rival San Jose Sharks.

Prediction
Avalanche 3, Golden Knights 2
I’m backing the rested AVALANCHE (-110) in a pick ’em on the moneyline. They’ve lost consecutive games coming into Monday, but they had Sunday off following the 5-3 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks Saturday. They’re 12-6-1 away from home for the year and still 6-3-1 over their last 10 games.
The Golden Knights (-110) beat the Sharks 3-1 Sunday with backup goaltender Malcolm Subban in net. They’re 10-6-3 at home for the season and 6-2-2 across their last 10 games. Side with the rested Avs before both teams take a four-day holiday break.
While I like the Avs to win outright, the smart hedge is a smaller wager on the GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-1.5, +240) to win by 2 or more goals. A $10 bet here would return a profit of $24 with a 2-goal victory, easily covering your losses elsewhere.
The Avs are 22-14 against the spread overall and 13-6 on the road, but they’re not worth a puck line bet while fetching just -303 odds to cover the +1.5 goals and either stay within 1 in a loss or win outright. Back the Avs on the moneyline and/or the Knights on the puck line.
Take the UNDER 5.5 (+115). The Golden Knights are able to turn to their superior goaltender for the second half of the back-to-back, while the forwards and defensemen will be tired. Expect some positive regression for Grubauer as he bucks his downward trend.
