Steelers to wear Color Rush jerseys vs. Patriots in Week 14

The Steelers are hoping for some good luck in their Color Rush jerseys on Thursday Night Football.

On Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced the return of the greatest alternate uniforms in all of the NFL: The Steelers will wear their Color Rush jerseys on Thursday night against the New England Patriots.

The Steelers’ Color Rush jerseys go all the way back to 2016. Pittsburgh has worn them eight times and has an excellent record with their alternate unis. Pittsburgh has also worn their old-school block number alternate jerseys this season.

Pittsburgh is 7-5 and in second place in the AFC North. Despite last week’s blowout loss to the Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh is holding on to the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoffs.

Should the Texans consider merging their Color Rush and Battle Red jerseys?

A glimpse at a fun jersey combination begs the question: should the Houston Texans merge their Color Rush and Battle Red jerseys?

The Houston Texans are one of the more unique teams in the NFL in that they have four different uniform tops: Deep Steel Blue, Liberty White, Battle Red, and their Color Rush.

Houston will breakout the Liberty White tops with white pants for their first home game of the season, and then go along with the rest of the NFL with having a darker jersey with white pants for the remainder of the home games.

Exceptions include the Color Rush jerseys, which are worn twice a year, and their Battle Red jerseys, which are worn once a season.

What if the Texans were to merge their Battle Red look and make it their new Color Rush scheme?

Texans Radio play-by-play voice Marc Vandermeer posted a concept on Twitter Wednesday that conveys an interesting idea.

The Texans had a mannequin with a red top with white letters, white pants, and a red helmet.

What if Houston made that their new Color Rush scheme? The Texans could also use it for more than simply Battle Red Day, or make a select trio of games throughout the season Battle Red Days.

Aside from the introduction of the Battle Red jerseys in 2003 and the Color Rush scheme in 2017, the Texans’ jerseys have remained unchanged since their inaugural season in 2002.
