[autotag]Colby Howard[/autotag] joined [autotag]CR7 Motorsports[/autotag] for a full-time campaign in the NASCAR Truck Series for the 2023 season but it won’t continue moving forward. According to Fronstretch, Howard said he won’t return to the No. 9 truck in 2024. This came during the weekend of the Truck Series finale at Phoenix Raceway.
Howard finished the year with one top-5 finish and one top-10 finish with a 22.4 average finishing position. The driver of the No. 9 truck finished 21st in the point standings, which was the lowest of any full-time competitor that competed in 23 races. Howard had a best finish of fourth place at Daytona in February and never recreated such a result.
Now, CR7 Motorsports will look for a new driver as the 2024 Truck Series season will be around the corner when the new year begins. One driver that would make sense is Grant Enfinger, who won’t return to GMS Racing after the organization ceased operations. Enfinger has driven for CR7 Motorsports in the past and would be a good fit.
