Despite a disappointing loss, Michigan State is still in the top 25 of the latest coaches poll.

[jwplayer mKgJ519R-PROpJzTY]

The latest Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll just dropped and, while it’s the second week in a row that the Spartans are still excluded from the top 25, they still received thirteen votes.

There were three Big Ten teams in the top ten of the poll: No. 5 Michigan, No. 8 Iowa, and No. 9 Wisconsin. No. 13 Illinois and No. 19 Minnesota are both in the top 25 as well.

[vertical-gallery id=34084]

Michigan State Basketball will have the opportunity to storm back into the top 25 as they face Iowa on Thursday.

Michigan State Basketball drops out of Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll

Michigan State has dropped out of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll after losses to Wisconsin and Minnesota.

[jwplayer o7EwTTTA-PROpJzTY]

After disappointing losses to Wisconsin and Minnesota, Michigan State Basketball was able to remain in the top-25 of the AP Poll, but they did not receive the same fate in the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll.

Despite a win against Nebraska in conference play, MSU was bounced out of the Coaches Poll after being at No. 18 last week. The Spartans still received the third most votes of teams not in the top-25 with 59. That puts them just in front of Ohio State (58 votes) and right behind Northwestern (64).

[vertical-gallery id=32271]

Michigan State will be able to quickly re-enter the top-25 if they can knock off No. 14 Rutgers on Tuesday night.

Notre Dame drops in latest in Amway Coaches poll

The final regular season Amway Coaches Poll saw Notre Dame drop a few spots.

Let’s be real, last’s night defeat at the hands of Clemson hurt. It stings, it still does. Losses like these leave a lasting impression, what could have been, where does Notre Dame go next? As we wait to find out where the Irish are placed in the College Football Playoffs rankings, it was still interesting to see where they finished in the final regular season Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Clemson jumped the Irish, moving form No. 3 to No. 2, while the fall for Notre Dame wasn’t that far, ending at No. 4 on the year. With a win in the Big Ten title game over Northwestern, Ohio State is sandwiched between the ACC Championship combatants.

Oklahoma made a leap from No. 10 to No. 7 after defeating Iowa State in the Big XII title game, the Cyclones falling 4 spots to No. 12. No 11 Florida didn’t fall after their thrilling game against No. 1 Alabama in the SEC Championship game, they actually jumped a spot to No. 10.
