4 takeaways from the Browns vs. Vikings game film

What our Jeff Risdon picked up from rewatching the Browns Week 4 win over the Vikings

The Cleveland Browns improved to 3-1 on the season with a 14-7 win in Minnesota in Week 3. Cleveland’s third straight win was not an easy one, but the Browns prevailed thanks to a great defensive performance and another outstanding effort from the RB duo of Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb.

I went back and reviewed the game, watching both the broadcast feed and the All-22 angle film. Here’s what I picked up from rewatching the close win over the Vikings.

Browns open up as road favorites in Minnesota in Week 4

The Browns are 2-1 on the season and also 2-1 against the spread entering Week 4

The 2-1 Cleveland Browns are continuing to earn more respect around the NFL landscape. The reverence for what Kevin Stefanski and his coaching staff have done with the talent-laden team is reflected in the latest NFL power polls. It’s also reflected in the odds for the team in Week 4.

Cleveland heads to Minnesota to face the 1-2 Vikings this Sunday. The Browns are an early 2.5-point favorite on the road to beat the host Vikings at Tipico.

The Cleveland Browns 2020 preseason schedule fully released

The Cleveland Browns 2020 preseason schedule fully released

The dates and times for the 2020 preseason are now set for the Cleveland Browns and the rest of the NFL.

We don’t yet know if the games will be played in front of fans, but we do know when and where every game will take place. The Browns will get a healthy dose of the NFC North, with the first three games against foes from that division.

Ironically, the traditional “Battle of Lake Erie” game against the Detroit Lions from the NFC North is not on the schedule in 2020. Cleveland will open at Chicago, return home for a date with the Packers, and then head to Minnesota.

The Vikings game is a homecoming for new Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, who spent the last several seasons coaching in Minnesota. That game will be nationally televised on FOX.

Preseason schedule

Week 1 – August 15, 1 p.m. at Chicago Bears

Week 2 – August 22, 4 p.m. Green Bay Packers

Week 3 – August 30, 4 p.m. at Minnesota Vikings

Week 4 – Sept. 3, TBD Tampa Bay Buccaneers

(all times ET)
