PFF’s 10 highest-graded Browns’ defensive players vs. Colts

It wasn’t the defense’s best performance

Coming off an impressive performance against the San Francisco 49ers the defense of the Cleveland Browns had a bit of a letdown defensively against the Colts. They struggled in zone coverage again like against the Baltimore Ravens, it is clear that the team is much more successful when they play man coverage. But it was far from just a bad day as defensive end Myles Garrett had one of the most impressive games of his career.

It’s the second time this year that he took over a game and put up a defensive player of the year type performance. Two sacks, two forced fumbles one of which was recovered for a touchdown, and a blocked field goal.

The Colts came to play and Shane Steichen called an impressive game for their offense. Let’s take a look at the ten best performances for the Browns on defense according to PFF in the 39-38 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

PFF’s 10 highest-graded Browns’ offensive players vs. Colts

The offense found a way yet again

Quarterback Deshaun Watson returned to the field for the Cleveland Browns but not for long after a big hit in the first quarter the quarterback would not return. P.J. Walker took over again and though it wasn’t great all the time he was able to be good enough with the running game playing better as well.

In the end, the offense was able to put up over 30 points with some assists from the defense. Rookie Dawand Jones continues to impress and looks like a massive steal for general manager Andrew Berry. Overall the offensive line has shown serious improvements over the last two weeks.

Left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. has stacked a couple of nice games after a rough start to the season. The wide receivers and tight ends continue to get open and make plays if the team could just get solid quarterback play.

Here are the top 10 performances on offense according to PFF in the win over the Colts.

Podcast: Recapping the Browns’ 39-38 thriller win vs. the Colts

What a crazy game in Indianapolis

For the second straight week, the Cleveland Browns found a way to win in a dog fight. They beat the Indianapolis Colts on the road by a final score of 39-38 despite playing their backup quarterback for the majority of both games. P.J. Walker wasn’t great but he came up with some big plays on the final touchdown drive for Cleveland.

Myles Garrett had another Defensive Player of the Year-type game with two strip sack fumbles and a blocked field goal. He single-handedly created a massive swing in the Browns’ favor as they battled all day. The Browns’ offensive line continues to play better as the run game had some impressive plays on Sunday.

The Browns keep increasing our stress level with wild games but the mental fortitude to get it done has been fun to watch. If feels like the culture is changing in Cleveland if they can just figure out the quarterback problem.

Browns Studs and Duds: Which players helped secure an ugly win vs. Colts?

The Browns’ stars shine bright as Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward and David Njoku help the Browns win against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Cleveland Browns narrowly escaped from Indianapolis with a victory over the Colts. The Browns extended their record to 4-2 with a second straight win this month. The game was chaotic from the very start to the last play of the game. P.J. Walker led the Browns to victory with the help of the Browns’ run game. Kareem Hunt scored two touchdowns, including the game-winning touchdown, while Jerome Ford had one touchdown on a 69-yard run during the first quarter. It was refreshing to watch the Browns rely on a strong run game to will the team to victory.

The Browns’ run game wasn’t the only unit that won the game for the team. The defense played extremely well against the Colts. They forced Gardner Minshew into multiple turnovers, including a costly fumble in the endzone that the Browns recovered for a touchdown. The victory over the Colts took the entire team. It was ugly, it was dirty, some may say it was undeserved, but a win is a win and I’ll take it any way I can.

Let’s shine a light on the studs and duds in the Browns’ messy victory over the Colts.

Kareem Hunt will test thigh pregame to decide fate for Browns vs. Colts

The Browns and Colts are set to square off, but they might have to do so without running back Kareem Hunt

The Cleveland Browns have several players who are questionable to play in their Week 7 game against the Indianapolis Colts, including quarterback Deshaun Watson. However, while Watson is expected to play after practicing in full on Friday, running back Kareem Hunt is not quite in the same boat.

After missing practice on Wednesday, and then practicing on a limited basis on both Thursday and Friday with a thigh injury, Hunt is listed as questionable for the game. ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that Hunt is expected to test the thigh out pre-game before the team and the back make the final call on whether or not he will suit up.

If Hunt cannot go, expect a bigger workload for Jerome Ford, and for Pierre Strong Jr. to see a slight uptick in carries as well. The Browns also just signed running back Deon Jackson off of the practice squad on Saturday as well.

Uni Matchup: Colts debuting ‘Indiana Nights’ uniforms vs. Browns

The Browns and Colts are set to lock horns, but who wins the uniform matchup before they take the field?

We are now less than 48 hours away from the Week 7 matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts. The Browns are sitting at 3-2 on the season after a win against the San Francisco 49ers. Additionally, the Browns may get starting quarterback Deshaun Watson back in this game as well after he was a full participant in practice on Friday. The Colts sit at 3-3, coming off of an ugly loss as they will ride backup quarterback Gardner Minshew the rest of the way out.

Can the Browns advance to 4-2 for the first time since 2020? These are the heights they would reach with a win over the Colts on Sunday.

Before they lock horns on the field, however, we take a look at the underrated matchup every week: the uniform matchup. Here we look at which uniforms each team will wear at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, and who wins the uniform matchup.

Browns Injury Report: Deshaun Watson questionable, Sione Takitaki out vs. Colts

The Browns might get their quarterback back vs. the Colts, but linebacker Sione Takitaki is out. Here is the full injury report from Friday.

The Friday and final injury report has dropped before the Cleveland Browns look to advance to 4-2 on the season against the Indianapolis Colts. And it is littered with good news for the Browns, who started the week on the wrong side of the street health-wise. Quarterback Deshaun Watson has now practiced two days in a row, including as a full participant on Friday. Linebacker, Sione Takitaki, however, tweaked his hamstring in practice and will not play against the Colts.

Most notable, however, were the names that practiced in full today and do not have a gameday designation. Those two players would be left guard Joel Bitonio, who missed last week against the San Francisco 49ers, and linebacker Anthony Walker Jr., who appears to be out of the concussion protocol.

The Browns are going to Indianapolis rather healthy. The big question remains, however: will Watson play? Here is the full injury report as the Colts are just two days away.

Deshaun Watson takes all of first team reps on Friday as Browns prepare for Colts

It looks like the Browns might have their starting quarterback back against the Colts as Deshaun Watson takes all of the first team snaps

The Cleveland Browns got their quarterback back to practice on Thursday after three weeks away. And now on Friday, the last practice before the Browns travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts, Watson is practicing for the second straight day, and not only that, but doing much more than that after a limited practice the day before.

According to Cleveland dot com’s Mary Kay Cabot, Watson took all the first-team reps during Friday’s practice for the Browns. She stated, “Eyeball test: looks like a go for the Colts game” on Twitter as well.

Looking to stack games and capitalize on a few weeks before a back-to-back stretch of AFC North opponents, the Browns are looking to advance to 4-2 this week against the Colts. Getting their quarterback back into their starting lineup is a crucial first step toward making a run at a divisional title.

We will know shortly if Watson will be back against the Colts or not.
