A week ago, the Browns brought in three safeties for tryouts, and then turned around and signed one to the practice squad as Mike Brown must have impressed them. Today, two linebackers and former Cincinnati Bearcats defensive tackle Cortez Broughton were in Berea trying to earn a spot within the organization.

The secondary that is currently playing defense off of the coast of Lake Erie, and the Cleveland Browns may have had enough of it. Today, the Browns had three safeties in for tryouts, according to the league’s transaction memo. The most notable name of these tryouts was former Cincinnati Bearcats standout James Wiggins.

With the Baltimore Ravens up next in just two days, the Cleveland defense needs to turn it around to attempt to save their season. While these tryouts will not help that cause this week, the Browns bringing in three of one position is certainly a sign of displeasure.

We found out earlier this morning the Cleveland Browns were hosting former Buffalo Bills’ defensive tackle Prince Emili. However, it turns out the Browns actually hosted 10 players today, and one of them was veteran wide receiver Kenny Stills.

All-in-all, the Browns hosted a quarterback, an offensive tackle, three defensive tackles, two running backs, and three wide receivers. The three defensive tackles are the clear emphasis here, especially after the Cleveland defensive interior was torn to shreds against the Atlanta Falcons.
