2023 NFL Mock Draft watch: Browns land B.J. Ojulari with 42nd pick

This would a tremendous pick for the Browns

Now that we have entered into the colder season, we have officially hit 2023 NFL Mock Draft season. The days of consistent first overall picks are over for the Browns, but the draft still has a certain energy in Cleveland. Even without a first round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, there is still plenty of draw to the event for the Cleveland Browns and their fans. In a recent mock draft done by Luke Easterling of Draft Wire, the Browns were mocked LSU pass rusher B.J. Ojulari with the 42nd overall pick.

This would be an absolute slam dunk for the Browns if they were able to land Ojulari at this stage of the draft. There are not two pass rushers in this class that I can confidently say are better than Ojulari, however, he remains a bit overlooked at this point in the pre-draft process.

Keep him a secret as he would be a tremendous fit in Cleveland.

Browns maintain continuity upfront by inking Jack Conklin to big extension

The Browns maintain continuity upfront and ink a new deal with their right tackle

The Cleveland Browns and Jack Conklin have struck a deal to keep the right tackle in the brown and orange uniform for four more years. Set to hit free agency after this season, Conklin has inked an extension that will guarantee him $31 million with an average of $15 million per year with the Browns.

James Hudson has not quite displayed the readiness to be a full-time tackle, so this deal makes a great deal of sense for the Browns. Conklin will be just the sixth-highest-paid right tackle, and 20th-highest-paid offensive tackle in general. And this is before free agency where those numbers will drop. Now they just need to extend Pro Bowl snub Ethan Pocic to retain every member of their offensive line in 2023.

Wide receiver Chris Olave, linebacker Pete Werner, and running back Dwayne Washington have also been ruled out by the Saints this weekend. As the Browns got good news on their starters battling injuries, the Saints did not for this Week 16 matchup in Cleveland.

Center Ethan Pocic has been designated for return, running back Nick Chubb has missed practice all week, and five other starters missed practice yesterday for the Browns.

Why Mitch Morse over Ethan Pocic for Pro Bowl nod is egregious

Ethan Pocic was a massive snub from the Pro Bowl.

It is that time of year again when the Pro Bowl rosters are revealed, and there are gobs of players who get in on name recognition alone despite poor play throughout the season. The Cleveland Browns had three players named Pro Bowlers, but one of their better players this season was snubbed in favor of a common name. Center Ethan Pocic, who is set to return from Injured Reserve, has experienced a massive breakout season for the Browns in 2022 but was not even named as an alternate, as Creed Humphrey of the Kansas City Chiefs and Mitch Morse of the Buffalo Bills were named as the Pro Bowlers at the center position.

This is egregious on multiple fronts for both Pocic and the Browns, and here is why.

Browns missing six starters from practice with Saints three days away

The Browns are still without a handful of starters.

The Cleveland Browns are seeking their fourth win in five weeks as they get set to take on Jarvis Landry and the New Orleans Saints on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately for the Browns, they are missing a plethora of starting players from practice with just two days until kickoff. Overall, six players missed practice for the Browns yesterday, all of them are starters as well.

All-in-all, ten players were either limited in practice or did not go at all for the Browns. As Wednesday’s injury report dropped, who appeared on that list for the Browns with just two days until gameday in Cleveland?

Myles Garrett, Joel Bitonio, Nick Chubb named to Pro Bowl as 5 others named as alternates

The Browns had three players named to the Pro Bowl with five others named as alternates.

The Pro Bowl news has dropped and the starters have been named. While the Philadelphia Eagles had eight players named to the all-star affair, the most in the NFL, the Browns also had three named from their unit. Defensive end Myles Garrett, left guard Joel Bitonio, and running back Nick Chubb were all named to the Pro Bowl for the Browns this season.

Additionally, the Browns had a massive five others named alternates. Stay peeled here to see who those other five are, including what they have done to get them in this position to be recognized for their 2022 seasons.

Browns players discuss Jarvis Landry as Christmas Eve reunion vs. Saints nears

Jarvis Landry was a big topic of conversation yesterday

The Cleveland Browns are looking forward to taking home their fourth victory in five weeks as they host the New Orleans Saints on Christmas Eve. One of the pressing pieces of conversation in yesterday’s media availability revolved around the return of a former Browns wide receiver in Jarvis Landry as well.

Speaking to the media yesterday, all of head coach Kevin Stefanski, cornerback Denzel Ward, and tight end David Njoku were asked about their former teammate in Landry. Here is what they all said. All of these quotes have been pulled directly from the public transcripts provided by the Browns.

Nick Chubb misses second practice in a row, will he play vs. Saints?: ‘hope so’

When does one start to get concerned?

Head coach Kevin Stefanski gave a two-word answer yesterday when he was asked if the Cleveland Browns would have running back Nick Chubb available against the New Orleans Saints on Christmas Eve: “Hope so.”

And now after missing his second practice in a row today, there is reason to be concerned about the status of Chubb, who is rehabbing through a foot injury. If he is not good to go, Kareem Hunt will step in for a great deal of the workload, with either Jerome Ford or D’Ernest Johnson serving in relief.

Can the Browns overcome potentially losing their best offensive player to win their fourth game in five outings?
