Browns’ offseason recap

Browns general manager Andrew Berry addressed the teams’ biggest concern early in free agency. The addition of S John Johnson III from the Los Angeles Rams was a steal, and might be one of the most important moves of the offseason.

They also added CB Troy Hill, while upgrading with DE Jadeveon Clowney in the pass rush. DE Takkarist McKinley was added for depth, as he tries to resurrect his career.

In the draft, the team selected CB Greg Newsome with its first-round pick at No. 26, and they traded up for LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah at No. 52.

They also grabbed speedster WR Anthony Schwartz in the third round to help in the return game.

Cleveland Browns Super Bowl 56 and 2021 NFL futures picks

The Browns are finally heading into a season where the biggest news isn’t a new coaching regime, general manager or both. The focus is on the team on the field, and that team is going to be very good.

QB Baker Mayfield has a cadre of receivers with plenty of talent which might even make WR Odell Beckham Jr. expendable and could allow the team to add more depth at other positions of need. If Beckham can stay healthy, he gives this burgeoning offense yet another weapon.

A bet on the Browns (+150) to win the AFC North is not a bad pick. YES -200: Will the Browns make the playoffs? is also worth a play, although not as great a value as the division bet.

The OVER 10 (-125) wins is the best play on the board. They won 11 games on a 16-game schedule, and they’ll have 17 opportunities to get to the 10-win level in 2021.
