Clemson signee elevated to 5-star by 247Sports

Clemson now has two five-star wide receivers in its 2024 recruiting class, according to 247Sports’ rankings.

A Clemson signee in the 2024 recruiting cycle has become a five-star prospect as of Monday.

Wide receiver TJ Moore was elevated from a four-star signee to a five-star signee in 247Sports’ final rankings for the class of 2024, jumping 81 spots in the overall recruiting rankings, rising from No. 102 to No. 21. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound pass-catcher was previously the No. 21 wide receiver and is now 247Sports’ No. 4 wide receiver this cycle.

Moore’s jump in rankings comes after he shined in the All-American Bowl, recording two touchdown grabs and 180 yards on 11 receptions, one of which was an impressive one-handed catch. With his jump, the Tampa, Fla., product now joins Bryant Wesco as a five-star receiver in the Tigers’ 2023 class.

Moore signed with Clemson on Dec. 20 and will join the Tigers this summer ahead of the 2024 season.

Social media reacts: Clemson adds Parker Fulghum, Clark Sanderson

How Clemson fans reacted to the additions of Parker Fulghum and Clark Sanderson in recruiting.

Clemson scored a recruiting victory over LSU when it landed WR recruit Parker Fulghum out of Shreveport, La. on Friday.

Fulghum is considered a legacy recruit for the home-state Tigers. His father, John Booty, was a starting quarterback for LSU from 1999-2000.

At 6’1″, 190 pounds, Fulghum finished his senior season at Evangel Christian Academy with 70 catches for 1,418 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Fulghum is a preferred walk-on, meaning that coach Dabo Swinney would like Fulghum on the team but that the school can’t offer financial assistance for the first year. Swinney himself was a walk-on receiver at Alabama.

Fulghum wasn’t the only addition Swinney and the Tigers made Friday. Clemson also landed wide receiver Clark Sanderson from Mountain Brook (Ala.) High School, not far from Swinney’s hometown. Sanderson is also a preferred walk-on.

Sanderson hauled in 44 catches for 936 yards and six touchdowns as a senior in 2023, according to MaxPreps.com.

Here’s how Twitter/X users reacted to the news of Fulghum and Sanderson’s commitments.

Clemson beats out LSU for WR recruit

Clemson has added another wide receiver recruit to its 2024 recruiting class, this time beating out LSU.

Clemson added another wide receiver recruit to its 2024 recruiting class on Friday, beating out LSU.

Parker Fulghum (Shreveport, Louisana) announced his commitment to Clemson on Friday, choosing head coach Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers over LSU.

Fulghum received preferred walk-on offers from both Clemson and LSU last year. He is also an LSU legacy, as his dad, Josh Booty, played quarterback in Baton Rouge. Despite that, he likes what Clemson has to offer compared to LSU.

“They really rolled out the red carpet,” Fulghum said of his visit to Clemson. “They gave me a preferred walk-on offer, but they treat their walk-ons differently than they do other places like Alabama and LSU. They care about all of their players there, and it’s a place I could see myself playing. Coach Swinney also hooked up my brother Peyton with Coach (Erik) Bakich, the baseball coach.”

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound pass catcher finished his senior season with 70 catches for 1,418 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Prior to Fulgham’s commitment, Clemson already had signed five-star wide receiver Bryant Wesco and four-star wide receiver TJ Moore. Although Fulgham is a preferred walk-on, he could develop into a star like Hunter Renfrow did as an original walk-on.

Wesco wants to makes sure ‘no one has any more doubts’ about Clemson

Clemson’s top wide receiver signee is expecting to bring championships to Clemson.

Bryant Wesco has yet to play a snap in a Clemson uniform, but his eyes are already set on winning games at the highest level and proving doubters wrong.

Ahead of his appearance at the Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 3, Wesco spoke to reporters on Friday and talked about the criticism Clemson has faced in recent years.

“It does get under my skin a little bit,” Wesco said. “Everybody has a bad season once in a while, but that doesn’t determine that the school has fallen off or not. It’ll be a way for me to go there and bring back — make sure no one has any more doubts about if Clemson has fallen off or not and make sure that we’re still big.”

Wesco verbally committed to the Tigers in June and officially signed his letter of intent on Dec. 20. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound pass-catcher is the No. 6 wide receiver prospect and the No. 21 overall prospect in the class of 2024, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. As a junior in 2022, Wesco recorded 58 receptions for 1,160 yards and 17 touchdowns. He followed that up with 61 receptions for 981 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior this fall.

The Lone Star State native will arrive in Clemson in the spring as a mid-year enrollee and will join the Tigers, who defeated Kentucky in the Gator Bowl on Friday to close the 2023 season out on a five-game win streak.

Along with Wesco, Clemson will bring in several highly-touted players in the 2024 cycle, including five-star linebacker Sammy Brown, four-star wide receiver TJ Moore and four-star edge Darien Mayo.

As for what Wesco hopes to accomplish at Clemson, that’s simple.

“I’m just really focused on playing my best and winning championships.”

Clemson flips ACC offensive line commit Mason Wade to the Tigers

Clemson has completed the flip, landing offensive line target Mason Wade.

Dabo Swinney and his coaching staff are off to a hot start on early signing day, completing a flip of an ACC offensive line commit.

2024 three-star offensive lineman Mason Wade has committed to Clemson after committing to Duke in June. The Tigers got Wade on an official visit last Thursday, and he must have been impressed with what he saw as he is now a Tigers.

Wade, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound prospect, is the No. 56 offensive tackle and No. 725 overall recruit in the class of 2024, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Another big signing for the Tigers, Clemson has added much-needed depth and potential to their offensive line with this signing.

Top-70 recruit crystal balled to Clemson

A top-five defensive lineman recruit has been crystal balled to Clemson.

Clemson has received a crystal ball to land one of the top recruits in the nation.

On Tuesday, one 247Sports contributor crystal balled four-star defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell to land with the Tigers.

Campbell is the No. 5 defensive lineman and the No. 69 overall recruit in the class of 2025. Clemson offered the Durham, North Carolina, native in June. At 6-foot-4 and 260 pounds, he holds 30 offers, including Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, LSU and NC State.

Clemson has seven verbal commitments to its 2025 class: four-star running back Gideon Davidson, four-star defensive lineman Amare Adams, four-star offensive tackle Easton Ware, three-star quarterback Blake Hebert, three-star tight end Logan Brooking, three-star athlete Marquise Henderson and three-star wide receiver Carleton Preston.

Report: 5-star Ohio State commit visits Clemson days before signing day

Clemson hosted a five-star Ohio State commit on Friday who has been committed to the Buckeyes since August, per report.

Despite being verbally committed to Ohio State, one of the top prospects in the class of 2024 was on Clemson’s campus this week, according to a report.

Five-star defensive lineman Eddrick Houston was at Clemson on Friday, and at Alabama on Saturday, 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong reported. Houston has been committed to the Buckeyes since August, but with the early national signing period set for next week, Houston’s late visits add some drama.

Houston is the No. 5 defensive lineman prospect and the No. 26 overall recruit in the 2024 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The 6-foot-3, 265-pound defender previously took a visit to Clemson in June after being offered by the Tigers last year.

Clemson’s 2024 class is No. 15 in the nation based on 247Sports Composite rankings. With two five-star commits and 10 four-star commits, the Tigers already have one of the top classes in the country. If they were to flip Houston, that would be the cherry on top for head coach Dabo Swinney and his staff.

Clemson receives crystal ball for offensive lineman committed to Duke

Clemson could be landing a third offensive line commit in the coming days.

Clemson has received a crystal ball prediction for an offensive line recruit who has been verbally committed to Duke since June.

Clemson offered Wade on Thursday, and the Virginia native immediately made his way down to Tiger Town on Thursday night, so it’s very possible that he will announce a pledge to the Tigers in the coming days.

Wade, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound prospect, is the No. 56 offensive tackle and No. 725 overall recruit in the class of 2024, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

As of Thursday, Clemson only has two offensive linemen committed to their 2024 class: three-star offensive tackle Ronan O’Connell and three-star interior lineman Watson Young. Wade marks the 21st offensive lineman the Tigers have offered, according to 247Sports.

If Wade chooses to be a Tiger, it will mark the first offensive lineman commitment Clemson has received since head coach Dabo Swinney hired Matt Luke to replace Thomas Austin as the Tigers’ offensive line coach.
