The Cincinnati Bearcats (1-0) will square off against the Pittsburgh Panthers (1-0) on Saturday at Acrisure Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET (CW Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Bearcats cruised to a 66-13 victory over Eastern Kentucky in Week 1 to cover as 21.5-point home favorites as Arizona State transfer QB Emory Jones aired it out for 345 yards and 5 TDs. This will be the 1st meeting between Cincinnati and Pittsburgh since 2012, won by the Bearcats 34-10.

Even though the Panthers defeated Wofford 45-7 in Week 1, they pushed as 38-point home favorites. In the season opener, Pittsburgh produced 491 yards of offense compared to Wofford’s 126 yards.

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh picks and predictions

Prediction

Pittsburgh 24, Cincinnati 20

Moneyline

The Panthers should come away with the win at home on Saturday, but I’ll AVOID their moneyline at -300 odds. The risk involved with taking Pittsburgh to win is pretty high against a Cincinnati team that could certainly pull off the upset.

Against the spread

CINCINNATI +7.5 (-115) is how I’d wager on the spread with the Bearcats looking to make a statement on the road. Jones looked great in his debut for Cincinnati and he’ll help keep the game close, but Pittsburgh’s defense will make a crucial stop to secure the victory.

While it’s a new season, the Panthers tallied a 2-5 record ATS at home in 2022.

Over/Under

UNDER 45.5 (-110) is the play in this game as both teams are expected to be strong defensively, though, Cincinnati has a new coaching staff. Last season, the Bearcats and the Panthers both allowed 24.3 or fewer points per game.

Dating back to last season, Cincinnati has also gone 3-7 to the Over in their last 10 games overall. The Bearcats hit the Over in Week 1 against Eastern Kentucky, but the Panthers will be stiffer competition on the road in Week 2.
