The Bengals are reeling. After thoroughly outplaying Pittsburgh in a Week 1 overtime loss, they came up short again in Week 2, falling 20-17 to an undermanned Dallas Cowboys team behind QB Cooper Rush.

The Bengals offensive line has somehow gotten worse since last season and QB Joe Burrow is on pace to be sacked 111 times this season.

The Jets rallied to win at the Cleveland Browns 31-30 Sunday. New York became the first team since 2001 to win a game after trailing by 13 or more points with 2 minutes remaining. The last team to accomplish this feat – the Chicago Bears – also did it against the Browns.

Will the Jets have an emotional letdown? Can the Bengals finally protect Burrow? These are the biggest questions for this Week 3 matchup.

Bengals vs. Jets head-to-head

The Jets lead the all-time series 18-10, but that includes an 0-2 postseason record. New York snapped a 3-game skid in the series last Halloween behind a 34-31 home victory.

The Bengals are 4.5-point favorites this Sunday. During their Super Bowl run last season, they were 11.5-point favorites in the 3-point loss at the Jets in Week 8. While that game was closer than expected, the Over 43 hit by a margin of 22 points as neither team had a solid defense. The Jets defense is still lacking, while the Bengals defense has played good so far this season.

While the Bengals have become the first team in history to have their last 5 games finish with the exact same margin (3), this could be the week to bet on Cincinnati to get things figured out.

First look: Cincinnati Bengals at New York Jets odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Cincinnati Bengals at New York Jets Week 8 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Cincinnati Bengals (5-2) have won two straight in blowout fashion, crushing the Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens, and they take on the New York Jets (1-5) in Week 8. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET Sunday at MetLife Stadium. Below, we look at the Bengals vs. Jets odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

The Bengals notched their best win of the season on Sunday with a 41-17 road victory over the Ravens. They racked up a season-high 520 yards of total offense and, despite not forcing a turnover, held Baltimore to 17 points – its lowest output of the season. Rookie WR Ja’Marr Chase ranks second in the NFL with 754 receiving yards, scoring six touchdowns in his first seven games as a pro.

The Jets are reeling after falling to 1-5 on the year Sunday. They were blown out by 54-13 by the New England Patriots while mustering only 299 yards of total offense compared to the Patriots’ 551. No team has scored fewer points than the Jets this season, averaging only 13 per game. QB Zach Wilson suffered a knee injury in the loss and will miss several weeks, thrusting QB Mike White into the starting role, most likely.
