Dolphins DT Christian Wilkins scored a touchdown…on offense!

The Dolphins got a little creative for a touchdown.

Every once in awhile, the NFL gives us the magical occurrence of a big man scoring a touchdown.

It’s a fairly rare event, so these plays need to be celebrated when they happen. The Dolphins put together a great moment when they threw a touchdown pass to defensive tackle Christian Wilkins to give them a lead over the division-rival Jets.

Wilkins subbed in at fullback for the play, which usually means that they’re going to mash the ball into the endzone with as many big people in front of the running back as possible.

Instead of a run, Wilkins went out to the flat for a pass and was left wide open by the Jets defense.

Wilkins clearly was pumped up by the score. He began dancing like a madman all over the endzone and jumped into the stands to celebrate.

Everyone loves a good Thicc Six.

WATCH: DL Christian Wilkins catches a touchdown, does the worm

That’s the appropriate level of excitement.

The Miami Dolphins got down early to the New York Jets but crawled back in the second half to take a 24-17 lead just a few minutes into the fourth quarter.

Solid running from Duke Johnson and Tua Tagovailoa set Miami up for a pass to defensive lineman Christian Wilkins, who was in as a fullback. Wilkins brought in the ball and had two incredible celebrations that involved him jumping into the stands and then doing the worm in the end zone.

Wilkins has been used as a fullback many times. This was his first receiving touchdown of the year but the second of his career.

Unfortunately, the Dolphins gave up the lead to make it 24-24 midway through the fourth.

Dolphins’ 310-pound Christian Wilkins makes the TD reception

Tua Tagovailoa found a big guy for a big play against the Jets

He is 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds with hands as great as some of the best in the NFL.

Kidding on the last part. Christian Wilkins did what he had to do in the fourth quarter Sunday for the Miami Dolphins against the New York Jets.

The big guy was on in the apparent blocking role for the Fish but he fooled Gang Green and ran a short pattern to the end zone.

Tua Tagovailoa did not have to go through his progressions, not when the former Clemson star was in the end zone.

The former Alabama star threw to Wilkins, who managed to hang on to the football for six points.

The Dolphins had scored 17 points in a row and had taken the lead over their AFC East counterparts.

A different kind of THICC-6.

The Jets fooled by a Miami play. Never would happen. Right, Dan Marino?

PFF’s five highest-graded Miami Dolphins at the bye week

The Miami Dolphins rode a real rollercoaster this season to end up at 6-7 at their Week 14 bye week. These have been their best players.

The Miami Dolphins have had a very strange season that has resulted in the team being 6-7 at the deadline.

Brian Flores’ team has seemed to put it together in recent weeks and has found a winning strategy that could help them make a push toward the postseason in the final weeks. The biggest question will be whether or not teams ahead of them lose games to help them out.

With 13 weeks and 13 games in the books, it’s time to reflect on Miami’s season to this point. According to Pro Football Focus, these five players have had the biggest impacts this season.

Dolphins injury update: 13 players listed for Wednesday’s practice

Adam Shaheen and Elijah Campbell didn’t participate.

Ahead of their matchup against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami Dolphins held their first practice of the week on Wednesday.

After practice, the team released their injury report that listed 13 players with varying participation levels.

Tight end Adam Shaheen (knee) and defensive back Elijah Campbell (toe/knee) did not participate Wednesday. Campbell had been dealing with a toe last week, but the knee is new. Shaheen’s injury was suffered during the game against the Jets.

Seven players were listed as limited participants including cornerback Xavien Howard (rest), cornerback Byron Jones (rest), safety Jevon Holland (knee/ankle), safety Brandon Jones (ankle/elbow), defensive tackle Christian Wilkins (quad), linebacker Elandon Roberts (hip), and cornerback Trill Williams (hamstring).

Of those, only Brandon Jones and Shaheen were listed last week.

Linebacker Jerome Baker (knee), guard Robert Jones (wrist), safety Eric Rowe (hip), and wide receiver Preston Williams (knee) were all practicing fully with no limitations.

Holland’s injury is probably the most concerning as far as impact goes. If he’s out that would put more pressure on Rowe and inexperienced members of the secondary.

What They Are Saying: Former Clemson stars shine in NFL Week 11

Dolphins injury update: Tua Tagovailoa listed as a full participant

Christian Wilkins was also upgraded to limited.

The Miami Dolphins held a walk-through on Thursday for their second day of practice this week, as they build towards the Week 11 matchup against the New York Jets. Because it was a walk-through, all participation levels were estimates for a normal practice.

Brian Flores’ team received some good news with four players being upgraded in participation, with one of them being removed from the injury report completely.

Defensive tackle Christian Wilkins (quad) and defensive back Elijah Campbell (toe) both did not practice Wednesday but were upgraded to limited on Thursday. They joined safety Brandon Jones (ankle) and linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel (back) as the four limited players.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (left finger) was upgraded to a full participant which is great news, as the injury has kept him from starting the last two weeks. Three other players were full participants including linebacker Jerome Baker (knee), quarterback Jacoby Brissett (knee), and guard Robert Jones (wrist).

Tight end Adam Shaheen (shoulder) was removed from the injury report.

While the Jets aren’t the NFL’s best, the Dolphins could absolutely use these guys Sunday to make it three wins in a row.

Dolphins injury update: Christian Wilkins did not participate Wednesday

The defensive lineman is dealing with a quad injury.

The Miami Dolphins released their first injury report of the week following their practice on Wednesday, and it contained some bad news.

Nine players were listed on the report with two not participating. Defensive tackle Christian Wilkins (quad) and defensive back Elijah Campbell (toe) did not practice. If Wilkins isn’t able to go Sunday, this could be a huge loss for the Dolphins’ defense, as he was playing his best football.

Three players were listed as limited participants on Wednesday including quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (left finger), safety Brandon Jones (ankle), and linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel (back).

Tagovailoa and Jones have been on the report in recent weeks, so that’s not new information. Everyone has said Tagovailoa is progressing well, but it’s still a situation to monitor. Van Ginkel’s injury, on the other hand, is new, and losing him would be a large hole to fill with the linebacker playing 65% of the defensive snaps this season.

Linebacker Jerome Baker (knee), quarterback Jacoby Brissett (knee), guard Robert Jones (wrist), and tight end Adam Shaheen (shoulder) were all full participants as well, though none of these appear to be all that serious.
