The Kansas City Chiefs (3-0) and LA Chargers (2-1) meet Sunday. Kickoff from SoFi Stadium is set for 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Chiefs vs. Chargers odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Chiefs are coming off a cover as 3-point favorites in a 22-17 win at the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football in Week 3 with the Under (46.5) hitting. QB Patrick Mahomes was 26-of-39 passing for 217 yards with 2 TDs and an INT.

The Chargers lost 20-10 as 2.5-point underdogs at the Pittsburgh Steelers Sept. 22 as the Under (36) cashed. QB Justin Herbert (ankle) was pulled late in the 3rd quarter and is questionable for Sunday.

Chiefs at Chargers picks and predictions

Prediction

Chiefs 17, Chargers 16

Moneyline

Kansas City (-350) will likely win — especially if Chargers QB Taylor Heinicke is in for Herbert — but this ML is too expensive for a team that has barely avoided last-minute disasters in 3 straight games.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

The Chiefs are 2-1 ATS this season and have been somewhat lucky to even cover 2 games.

In their 27-20 win vs. the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, they needed a last-second Ravens TD to get reversed — TE Isaiah Likely’s toe was on the endline — to save the cover as 2.5-point favorites.

Their Week 3 cover at Atlanta was also somewhat surprising. The Falcons had a late third-and-goal from the Kansas City 6 trailing by 5 points, and the officials did not throw a flag on what appeared to be pass interference by Chiefs S Bryan Cook in the end zone.

If Likely’s shoe was a half-size smaller and the officials didn’t miss a crucial call in Atlanta, the Chiefs would likely be 0-3 ATS heading into Sunday. This is not a team I want to back to win by margin, especially if Herbert is out and the spread inflates even more.

BET CHARGERS +7 (-105).

Over/Under

The Under is 3-0 in Chargers games this season, as LA has allowed just 11 points per game under coach Jim Harbaugh. Whether an injured Herbert starts or Heinicke takes his place, we know Harbaugh’s key to victory will be running the ball and controlling time of possession.

The Chiefs offense was nothing special at Atlanta, putting up just 22 points, and should look even more pedestrian at the No. 3 defense in the NFL Sunday.

BET UNDER 39.5 (-105).

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Kansas City Chiefs (7-2) head to SoFi Stadium in Week 11 to take on the Los Angeles Chargers (5-4) Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Chiefs vs. Chargers odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The last time these AFC West rivals faced off was Week 2 when the Chiefs won 27-24, but failed to cover as 4-point favorites. The Chiefs are 6-2 against the Chargers with QB Patrick Mahomes as the starter, while the Chargers are 2-3 against Kansas City with Justin Herbert at QB (though Chad Henne started for the Chiefs in 1 of those Herbert victories).

The Chiefs have won 3 straight, their most recent against the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-17. WR Kadarius Toney had 90 yards from scrimmage and a receiving TD and his performance could be enough to earn him more looks against the Chargers, especially with Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman hitting injured reserve and WR JuJu Smith-Schuster sitting out with a concussion.

The Chargers are coming off a 22-16 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. However, L.A. could be getting a major boost on offense with injured WRs Mike Williams and Keenan Allen returning to practice this week.

Chiefs at Chargers picks and predictions

Prediction

Chiefs 33, Chargers 27

Moneyline

This game should be a thriller, as it usually is between these division rivals. The last 4 games between the Chiefs and Chargers that involved Mahomes were determined by 6 points or fewer. With Allen and Williams returning for Los Angeles, don’t expect this game to be much different.

The Chiefs’ offense is really hitting its stride and might be able to replace Smith-Schuster’s production with Toney, who is slowly finding a role on offense. Kansas City’s running game is starting to develop as well, and the Chargers are allowing the NFL’s 3rd-most rushing yards per game (146.8). With that and Chargers LB Joey Bosa still missing, the Chiefs should be able to win a shootout.

Take CHIEFS -230, but only in a parlay since the payout by itself is not great.

Against the spread

If the line was any larger than 5.5 points I’d advise against the Chiefs since they’re 3-5-1 ATS this season. But going back to that 6-point stat, I think the Chiefs can win by a touchdown.

Lean CHIEFS -5.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The last matchup between K.C. and L.A. went Under by just 1 point. This game should be different with the Chargers missing several defensive starters and the Chiefs offense playing much more like a cohesive unit.

OVER 52.5 (-111) is my favorite play for this matchup.

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers odds, picks and predictions: Player prop bets

Analyzing the Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers Week 15 matchup and offering up expert picks and predictions on the top player prop bets.

Week 15 kicks off with a massive AFC West matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs (9-4) and Los Angeles Chargers (8-5) on Thursday Night Football as these two teams continue to battle for the division title. Things will get underway at 8:20 p.m. ET from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. Below, we look at the Chiefs vs. Chargers prop bet odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Chiefs are beginning to look like Super Bowl contenders once again after a slow start to the season. They’ve won their last six games and haven’t allowed more than 17 points in a single outing across that span, holding opponents under 10 points in each of their last three games. The offense has woken up, too, scoring 70 points in the last two weeks – including a 48-point outburst against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14.

The Chargers are also righting the ship after hitting some speedbumps, winning their last two by a combined score of 78-43. They already beat the Chiefs earlier this season, 30-24 in Week 3, so another victory over Kansas City would put LA in the driver’s seat for the division crown.

Chiefs at Chargers prop bet picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 10:50 a.m. ET.

Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire OVER 58.5 rushing yards (-120)

The Chargers’ run defense is, well, not good. They allow 4.7 yards per carry and have given up the second-most rushing yards in the NFL at 1,829. This could lead to a big day for Edwards-Helaire who may not get a huge workload but should average a healthy 5 or more yards per carry as he did in the first meeting with Los Angeles.

PLAY: Try our new, free daily Pick’em Challenge and win. Play now!

Chargers QB Justin Herbert OVER 288.5 passing yards (-114)

Herbert has gotten back on track in recent weeks, averaging 319.3 yards per game in his last four starts. Those outings were against some decent defenses in the Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants.

The Chiefs are playing well defensively right now but they’ll be without CB L’Jarius Sneed and could be missing their best pass rusher DT Chris Jones who was placed on the COVID reserve list Tuesday. Herbert could be forced to throw it 40-plus times if the Chargers fall behind.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce OVER 5.5 receptions (-156)

Kelce hasn’t had more than five receptions since Week 10 and has gone over that number just once in his last six games. However, he’s still seeing a healthy number of targets, averaging 7.3 in that span, including four games with 8-10 targets since Week 8. He should snap out of his funk with back-to-back games of three catches and 27 yards.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes UNDER 280.5 passing yards (-114)

Mahomes has only thrown for more than 280 yards once in his last seven games, and that was in Week 10 when he gashed the Raiders for 406 yards and 5 touchdowns. That appears to have been an outlier, however, as he has just two games of 280-plus yards since Week 3. The Chargers like to take away big plays by keeping their DBs deep, so that could limit Mahomes.

Chargers QB Justin Herbert OVER 16.5 rushing yards (-114)

Herbert has shown off his speed plenty of times this season and even rushed for 90 yards against the Steelers in Week 11. He’s topped 16 yards rushing five times this season and four of those games have come since Week 10. He could go over this number with one long rush and has a good chance to crack 17 yards rushing considering he’s carried it at least four times in each of his last six games.

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday Night Football’s Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers Week 15 odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Kansas City Chiefs (9-4) and Los Angeles Chargers (8-5) start off the NFL’s Week 15 slate with an AFC West showdown in the Thursday Night Football game. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET at SoFi Stadium (on FOX and the NFL Network). Below, we look at the Chiefs vs. Chargers odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

QB Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City own a 6-game win streak, recently routing the Las Vegas Raiders 48-9 as 10-point home favorites in Week 14. The Chiefs are on a 4-0 ATS run and lead the AFC West by one game over the second-place Chargers.

After going 2-4 between Weeks 6 to 12 – with a bye in Week 7 – the Chargers have looked very impressive the past two games. They went to Cincinnati in Week 13 and claimed a 41-22 victory as 2.5-point underdogs, and then returned home to beat the New York Giants 37-21 as 9.5-point favorites.

Chiefs at Chargers odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Chargers 31, Chiefs 28

Money line

BET LOS ANGELES (+135) for a HALF UNIT. QB Justin Herbert threw 4 touchdowns in a 30-24 victory at Kansas City in Week 3.

The Chargers actually have won the last two in the series, but their 38-21 victory in Week 17 last season was aided by the fact the Chiefs rested several key players as they had already locked up the AFC’s No. 1 seed. Herbert still threw for 302 yards and 3 TDs in the win.

The logic behind this play is that the Chargers are at home, it’s a division matchup – which usually results in a close game – and L.A. can take over first place in the AFC West since they would complete a sweep of Mahomes & Co.

Against the spread

ATS records: Chiefs 6-7 | Chargers 7-6

BET 1.25 UNITS on the CHARGERS +3.5 (-120) for the same reasons mentioned above in the ML section.

They are 4-1-1 ATS in the last six vs. the Chiefs. Plus, they’re 5-1 ATS in their last six against the AFC West.

These two wagers make the Chargers my STRONGEST PLAY – usually 1½ times your average bet. You can divvy up the total 1.75 Units between the Chargers’ ML and ATS plays however you want.

Over/Under

OVER 52.5 (-110) is worth a HALF-UNIT wager.

The Chiefs are coming off a season-high, 48-point performance in their win vs. the Raiders. The Chargers scored 41 and 37 points in their last two games.

The AFC West rivals each average 27.0 points per game, tied for eighth in the league.

Both teams are 6-7 O/U on the season, while the O/U is 5-5 in the last 10 meetings of this rivalry.

They’ve actually alternated Overs and Unders across the last 6 head-to-head contests. The Week 3 final (Chargers 30-24) cashed an Under (55) ticket.

It’s the Over’s turn this time around.

First look: Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers odds and lines

Looking at Thursday’s Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers Week 15 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Kansas City Chiefs (9-4) and Los Angeles Chargers (8-5) meet for an AFC West showdown on Thursday Night Football. Kickoff from SoFi Stadium is set for 8:20 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Chiefs vs. Chargers odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

The Chiefs scored a season-high 48 points in their defeat of the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14. Kansas City opened the scoring just 17 seconds into the game as CB Mike Hughes converted a recovered fumble into a touchdown, the first of 5 forced turnovers for K.C.

QB Patrick Mahomes finished with 258 passing yards and 2 touchdowns, marking the first time he’s thrown a touchdown since a Week 10 meeting with these same Raiders. RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire scored twice out of the backfield and finished with 37 yards on 10 carries.

The Chargers also picked up a Week 14 victory as they toppled the New York Giants 37-21. The final score actually makes the game look much closer than it was as the Giants scored 14 unanswered points in the final 4:33 to tighten up a 37-7 Chargers lead.

QB Justin Herbert finished with 275 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, connecting with WR Jalen Guyton, WR Joshua Palmer and TE Jared Cook on the 3 scores. Running back Austin Ekeler was forced from the game with an ankle injury early in the second half and finished with 67 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. There has been no update on his status for Thursday’s game.

Chiefs at Chargers head-to-head

Kansas City leads the all-time series 64-58-1 but lost the one postseason matchup.

These series between the longtime division rivals dates back to 1960 when Kansas City was the Dallas Texans and Los Angeles was … well, Los Angeles before moving to San Diego where it played from 1961 to the 2016-’17 season.

The Chiefs are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings, although the Chargers have won two in a row, including a 30-24 road victory in Week 3 of this season. Kansas also leads 5-4-1 ATS across that span, while the O/U is 5-5.

Kansas City is 4-0 ATS entering Thursday’s game but is 0-3-1 ATS in its last four against Los Angeles.
