The Chicago Fire (9 wins, 10 draws, 12 losses) welcome Inter Miami (9-6-15) to town on Wednesday. Kick from Soldier Field is set for 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Chicago Fire vs. Inter Miami odds, and make our best expert MLS picks and predictions.

Chicago gained 3 points in the table last Saturday with a 1-0 road win against the New York Red Bulls. After a 62nd-minute red card for the Red Bulls, the Fire capitalized with a 64th-minute goal from F Georgios Koutsias. The victory snapped a 9-game winless streak for the Fire including a 7-games in MLS play.

Miami drew NYCFC 1-1 on Saturday behind a 95th-minute stoppage-time equalizer from F Tomás Avilés. It was Miami’s only shot on goal of the match out of 12 shot attempts. Miami has now drawn back-to-back games in MLS play.

Chicago (11th) and Miami (13th) are both on the outside looking in at the playoffs with the end of the season approaching.

Chicago Fire vs. Inter Miami picks and predictions

Prediction

Chicago Fire 2, Inter Miami 1

Moneyline (ML)

BET CHICAGO (+100).

Inter Miami is still playing without its golden boy F Lionel Messi, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, and is the bottom-of-the-table team we have seen all year without him. Miami was also recently eliminated from the U.S. Open Cup this past week which has exhausted a lot of extra energy for the club. Expect the Fire to come out with energy after coming off a major road win while trying to make a push to get into the playoffs.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (-165).

There is not a lot of profit to be made on the Over, but 3 of the last 4 matchups between these clubs have hit at least 4 total goals. The last meeting between these clubs was in March of this year when Chicago took down Miami 3-2 on the road.

Over 2.5 goals hit twice in Chicago’s last 3 games and twice in Miami’s last 4 MLS games.

Chicago Fire vs. FC Cincinnati odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Chicago Fire vs. FC Cincinnati odds and lines, with expert MLS picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago Fire (0 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw) welcome FC Cincinnati (2-0-1) to Soldier Field Saturday. Kickoff in this Eastern Conference battle is set for 8:30 p.m. ET (Apple TV). Below, we preview Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Chicago Fire vs. FC Cincinnati odds, and make our best expert MLS picks and predictions.

FC Cincinnati enters off a 1-0 home victory over the previously undefeated Seattle Sounders last Saturday, holding them off despite a late-game red card. FCC is 0-0-1 on the road this season, drawing Orlando 0-0 in their lone away match on March 4. All 3 of Cincinnati’s goals this season have come from a different player with M Obinna Nwobodo, F Sergio Santos and F Brenner all finding the back of the net.

The Fire are the only team in the Eastern Conference that has played just 2 games and are 1 of 4 teams in the conference that has yet to record its second goal. Chicago drew NYCFC 1-1 at home on March 4 then lost to Philadelphia 1-0 on the road on March 11. M Fabian Herbers has the team’s lone goal.

Chicago Fire vs. FC Cincinnati picks and predictions

Prediction

FC Cincinnati 1, Chicago Fire 1

Moneyline (ML)

SPRINKLE DRAW (+250).

The Fire most likely won’t be a playoff team this season, but they will be able to compete.

The Fire and NYCFC finished within one expected goal in Chicago’s first game, and then the Fire had just .3 fewer expected goals than Philadelphia on the road. Keeping that game close is impressive as Philadelphia is one of the best teams in MLS.

FCC drew its lone road match of the season and has only won both its other games by 1 goal. Two of FCC’s 3 games have ended within .3 expected goals.

Both teams play to the level of their opponent, so back the DRAW (+250) with a partial unit.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (-110).

FC Cincinnati hasn’t had the same dynamic offense we saw last season. They are averaging just a goal per game and have had 1.8 combined expected goals in their last 2 games. The Fire have a similar story, having yet to either score or allow 2 goals in a game this season.

Both teams would be in the top ten in the MLS in interceptions (Fire only have 2 games when most have 3). However, FCC has only allowed 9 shots while the Fire have allowed 6. Both teams have sturdy defenses and struggling offenses.

Back the UNDER 2.5 (-110).

Analyzing Wednesday’s D.C. United at Chicago Fire matchup with betting advice and picks

Breaking down the odds and lines for Wednesday’s D.C. United at Chicago Fire MLS matchup with betting advice and predictions.

In one of many MLS games Wednesday, D.C. United (5 wins, 7 losses, 1 draw) visit the Chicago Fire (3-8-2) at Soldier Field. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the D.C. United vs. Chicago Fire FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

The Chicago Fire take the field after losing 5-1 to Nashville SC Saturday. The Fire will look to get back in the win column behind F Ignacio Aliseda and his 3 goals in eight appearances. However, they’ll need to learn to defend, having given up the third-most goals in the Eastern Conference this season.

D.C. United is without USA MF Paul Arriola, who typically plays an important attacking role in their midfield. That burden will be put on F Ola Kamara, who has 5 goals on the season. A win could vault United from ninth place to seventh in the conference and put them in playoff contention.

Prediction

Chicago Fire 2, D.C. United 1

Money line (ML)

BET on the FIRE (+110) because they’ve been respectable at home.

Chicago has all of its wins and draws at home and is just better in front of the home crowd at the intimidating Soldier Field. On top of that, the Fire have played well lately with wins in two of their last three matches.

While United hasn’t necessarily struggled, they have lost two of their last three games. They’re also just 1-5-1 on the road.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the OVER 2.5 (-160) because Chicago is on fire and also has a horrible backline.

The Fire were absolutely embarrassed by Nashville MF Hany Mukhtar last time they took the pitch. However, aside from that, they’ve been a scoring machine over their last four matches in averaging 2.5 goals per game.

United scored at least 1 goal in four of their last five matches, including a 7-goal outburst against Toronto FC July 3. The Toronto defense is the worst in the East, but Chicago isn’t too far behind.

With both teams scoring lately, expect a high-scoring game. Given the cost on the total, I’d only consider putting half a unit on it.
