Memphis Grizzlies at Chicago Bulls odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Chicago Bulls odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (41-20) head to the Windy City Saturday to play the Chicago Bulls (39-21). Tip-off at United Center is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Bulls odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Memphis dropped its first game back from the All-Star break 119-114 at the Minnesota Timberwolves Thursday as a 2-point road favorite. The Grizzlies are 21-10 straight up (SU) and 22-9 against the spread (ATS) on the road.

Chicago held off the Atlanta Hawks Thursday for a 112-108 home win as a 2.5-point favorite to extend its win streak to six games (5-1 ATS). The Bulls are 24-8 SU and 22-10 ATS at home.

The Grizzlies clobbered the Bulls 119-106 in Memphis Jan. 17 as 8.5-point home favorites. Memphis has won and covered versus Chicago in three consecutive meetings.

Grizzlies at Bulls odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 121, Bulls 108

Money line

BET the GRIZZLIES (-135) for 1.25 units for a variety of reasons.

Memphis has a couple of strength-on-weakness edges over Chicago it can and did exploit in their first meeting.

The Grizzlies like to speed up the tempo and attack the paint whereas the Bulls have the fifth-worst transition defensive efficiency and 24th in paint points per game (PPG) allowed.

Memphis won all “four factors” and outscored 64-38 in the paint and 26-9 in fastbreak points in the first Grizzlies-Bulls meeting this season.

This is also a Pros vs. Joe’s game in the betting market since most of the money is on the Grizzlies but a slight majority of the bets placed are on the Bulls, according to Pregame.com.

It’s typically wise to follow the money especially when it’s counter to the public. Plus oddsmakers are reacting to the presumed sharp money by moving Memphis’s ML from +110 on the opener up to the current price.

The Grizzlies are much deeper than the Bulls who have been super reliant on DeMar DeRozan‘s brilliance. Memphis’s bench scores 37.0 PPG (ranked eighth) and Chicago’s bench averages 26.5 PPG (ranked 29th).

GIMME the GRIZZLIES (-135) for 1.25 units.

Against the spread

PASS because Memphis’s ML is only 15 cents on the dollar more expensive than the Grizzlies -1.5 (-120) so we don’t need to sweat a cover.

I’d bet Memphis’s ML up to -145 before taking the Grizzlies’ spread for a lesser-sized wager.

Over/Under

PASS with a slight “lean” towards the Under 237.5 (-115) as a fade against the betting market and situational trends.

A majority of the cash wagered is on the Over, according to Pregame.com and VegasInsider.com. That’s probably because the Grizzlies are 9-3 O/U as road favorites and the Bulls are 5-2 O/U as home underdogs.

It feels too easy to take the Over 237.5 (-107) here but, aside from that angle, I don’t have much analysis for the total.

Atlanta Hawks at Chicago Bulls odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Atlanta Hawks at Chicago Bulls odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Atlanta Hawks (28-30) stop by United Center Thursday for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off with the Chicago Bulls (38-21). Below, we look at the Hawks vs. Bulls odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Atlanta has won back-to-back games over the Cleveland Cavaliers (124-116 Feb. 15) and at the Orlando Magic (130-109 Feb. 17). The Hawks were 4-4 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) in the two weeks entering the All-Star break.

Chicago rides a 5-game win streak (4-1 ATS) into the second half of the season with the most recent being a 125-118 home win versus the Sacramento Kings as 5.5-point favorites. The Bulls are 7-3 SU and ATS in their last 10 games.

Hawks at Bulls odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 122, Hawks 110

Money line

BET the BULLS (-175), and I’d pay for Chicago’s money line (ML) all the way up to -180.

The Bulls waxed the Hawks 130-118 and 131-117 in a home-and-away back-to-back Dec. 27-29, and I don’t see this meeting playing out much differently. Chicago is 32-7 SU as favorites, and Atlanta is 6-12 SU as underdogs with a minus-5.6 margin of victory.

Not only is Bulls wing DeMar DeRozan playing at an MVP-caliber level, but Chicago big Nikola Vucevic gives the Hawks matchup fits since Vucevic eats up Atlanta big Clint Capela‘s defensive and rebounding bandwidth.

Vucevic put up 20.0 points on 51.5% shooting and 18.5 rebounds in the first two Hawks-Bulls meetings and had a plus-21 net rating.

Finally, the market has overrated Atlanta all season long based on a flukey run to last season’s Eastern Conference Finals. The Hawks were one of the favorites to make it out of the East during the preseason but will probably end up as a play-in seed.

For the record, the BULLS (-175) is my favorite wager.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

LEAN to the BULLS -3.5 (-120) only because I’m so confident in Chicago I’m willing to spend extra on the ML. However, this is a much better spot for the Bulls, and the Hawks are atrocious on the road.

For instance, Chicago is 17-7 ATS as home favorites, 12-4 ATS at home versus teams below-.500 and 6-3 ATS when laying 3-4.5 points. Atlanta is 6-12 ATS as road underdogs, 3-13 ATS in the last 16 games versus teams with a 60.0% winning rate or higher and 1-6 ATS as underdogs of 3-4.5 points.

If Chicago’s ML goes north of -180 then I’d lay up to 5.5 points with the Bulls in this spot.

Also (shameless plug), I gave out Chicago’s spread in this week’s Bet Slippin’ Podcast episode so listen to that for more analysis on this game.

Over/Under

PASS.

I cannot play the Under 234.5 (-107) because there are too many reasons to like the Over (-115). However, I’m staying away from the Over because a majority of the market will be on the Over, and this total is a little too high.

That said, the first two Hawks-Bulls meetings soared Over the total, Atlanta is 10-8 O/U as road underdogs, Chicago is 13-10-1 O/U as home favorites, and both teams are top-seven in adjusted offensive free-throw rate, according to CleaningTheGlass.com.

Sacramento Kings at Chicago Bulls odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Sacramento Kings at Chicago Bulls odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Sacramento Kings (22-37) head to the Windy City Wednesday to play the Chicago Bulls (37-21). Tip-off at United Center is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Kings vs. Bulls odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Sactown lost to the Nets 109-85 in Brooklyn Monday as a 2-point road favorite. The Kings are 4-3 straight up (SU) 5-2 against the spread (ATS) over the past two weeks.

Chicago won its fourth consecutive game Monday by storming past the San Antonio Spurs 120-109, covering as a 3-point home favorite. The Bulls are 5-3 SU and ATS in the last 14 days.

Kings at Bulls odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 121, Kings 108

Money line

PASS.

Even though Chicago should win this game handily, the Bulls (-220) are a little too steep. However, Chicago lights up bad teams and Sactown is a bad team (ranked 26th in net rating).

The Bulls are 11-1 SU versus bottom-10 teams with a plus-11.5 adjusted net rating and plus-2.0 ATS margin according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Against the spread

BET the BULLS -5.5 (-107) for 1 unit.

The bottom line is Chicago has the highest shooting percentage in the NBA and Sactown has the second-worst shooting percentage.

The Bulls are missing several key players but I don’t see that being an issue against a Kings team that even I could score 20 points on.

More importantly, Chicago All-Star wing DeMar DeRozan has stepped up since several Bulls teammates have been sidelined with injuries and is playing the best basketball of his career. DeRozan is averaging 35.6 points on 56.9% shooting with 6.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists and a plus-5 net rating in nine games in February.

Chicago is also 16-7 ATS as a home favorite, 11-4 ATS at home versus teams with a losing record and 6-1 ATS when laying 5-7 points.

Finally, sharp money is betting the Kings, which is making Chicago cheaper. Since I cannot reverse engineer the line movement, I’ll happily BET the BULLS -5.5 (-107).

Over/Under

PASS.

There’s no way I can bet Under 232.5 (-108) considering how poorly Sacramento plays defense and how lethal Chicago can be on offense. Sactown is 5-1 O/U in the last six games and Chicago is 7-3 O/U in the last 10 games.

But, my numbers say the Kings-Bulls fall short of the total and most of the market will be betting the Over based on the O/U trends above.

San Antonio Spurs at Chicago Bulls odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s San Antonio Spurs at Chicago Bulls odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The San Antonio Spurs (22-35) visit United Center to take on the Chicago Bulls (36-21) Monday. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Spurs vs. Bulls odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Bulls continue are in the midst of a five-game homestand. They took down the Timberwolves 134-122 Friday and the Thunder 106-101 Saturday. They failed to cover as 9.5-point favorites in the 5-point victory over Oklahoma City.

The Bulls have covered 6 of their last 10 and are 33-23-1 against the spread (ATS) on the season.

They sit 2nd in the Eastern Conference behind their dominant offense which ranks 1st in field-goal percentage. The Spurs sit 6th in field-goal percentage, so they’re among the better shooting teams as well.

As for San Antonio, it has won 2 straight on the road, both as an underdog. The Spurs beat the Hawks 136-121 Friday as 8.5-point underdogs and defeated the Pelicans 124-114 Saturday as 6.5-point dogs. The Spurs are 6-4 ATS over their last 10 and 30-27 ATS on the season.

Spurs at Bulls odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 121, Spurs 115

Money line

PASS.

The Bulls (-175) are too expensive for my liking. Also, the Spurs beat the Bulls 131-122 in Texas the last time these two teams met (Jan. 28). San Antonio (+140) is the only playable side. Chicago is 21-8 at home.

I’d pass on betting either way here.

Against the spread

BET BULLS -3.5 (-120).

The Bulls have been the 5th-best covering team in the NBA. They are the best home-covering team in the league, going 19-10 ATS at United Center.

The Bulls will be able to limit the Spurs’ edges in this one Monday night.

San Antonio ranks 9th in offensive rebounding rate, whereas the Bulls sit 7th in defensive rebounding rate. The Bulls rank second in true-shooting rate, and the Spurs rank 20th in opponents’ field-goal rate.

Considering these and the Bulls’ dominance at home, I’ll take them to cover in this spot.

Over/Under

LEAN to the OVER 233.5 (-115).

This matchup went Over 250 last time these two teams met. I expect a similar result.

The Bulls rank 4th in offensive rating, and the Spurs rank 15th with both teams significantly worse defensively. The Spurs also rank 5th in pace and 2nd in field-goal attempts.

The Bulls are 31-25-1 O/U, while the Spurs are 29-26-2 O/U. So, it’s been profitable to back the Over for both teams.

Given the offensive firepower on both teams and the Bulls down their two best defensive guards (Ball and Caruso), I’d side with the Over in this one.

Minnesota Timberwolves at Chicago Bulls odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Minnesota Timberwolves at Chicago Bulls odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

Minnesota had a 5-game winning streak snapped last time out in a 132-119 loss to the Kings in Sacramento as a 7-point favorite Wednesday. The T-Wolves are 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last six games.

Chicago stopped a 2-game losing skid by crushing the Hornets 121-109 in Charlotte as a 2-point favorite. Over the past two weeks, the Bulls are 4-4 straight up (SU) and 5-3 ATS.

Timberwolves at Bulls odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 124, Timberwolves 116

Money line

PASS.

I slightly “lean” toward the Bulls (-160) because I’d much rather need an outright Chicago win rather than sweat the spread. But I’ll be greedy and lay the points with the Bulls instead.

Against the spread

BET BULLS -3.5 (-110) for 1 unit.

The T-Wolves may be in serious trouble against Chicago’s two All-Stars, SG Zach LaVine and SF DeMar DeRozan.

LaVine has balled out versus his former team. LaVine is averaging 28.9 points per game (PPG) on 50.7% shooting in seven career games against the T-Wolves. DeRozan lit up Minnesota last season, averaging 34.0 PPG on 54.8% shooting with a plus-16.0 net rating in two games versus T-Wolves.

Both LaVine and DeRozan excel at drawing fouls and Chicago is sixth in offensive FT/FGA rate whereas Minnesota has the worst defensive FT/FGA rate. Plus, there are several players on Minnesota’s injury report that would help defense LaVine and DeRozan.

Not only are Edwards and Beverley dealing with injuries, but backup forwards Taurean Prince and Josh Okogie are also listed as “questionable.” This puts a lot of pressure on T-Wolves dynamic defensive wing Jarred Vanderbilt to deal with both LaVine and DeRozan.

Over/Under

PASS.

According to Pregame.com, slightly more action is on the Under but the total has ticked up from the 238-point opener to the current price. This type of reverse line movement is typically a red flag in sports betting.

However, my prediction aligns too closely with the projected total so there’s no value in me betting this number.

Chicago Bulls at Charlotte Hornets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Chicago Bulls at Charlotte Hornets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago Bulls (33-21) meet the Charlotte Hornets (28-27) Wednesday at Spectrum Center for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip-off (on ESPN). Below, we look at the Bulls at Hornets odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Chicago enters off back-to-back home losses to the Sixers (119-108 Sunday) and the Suns (127-124 Monday). Over the past two weeks, the Bulls 4-4 straight up (SU) and 5-3 against the spread (ATS).

Charlotte has lost seven of its past nine games (2-7 ATS), including five straight with the most recent being a 116-101 beatdown administered by the Raptors Monday.

The Bulls crushed the Hornets 133-119 in Chicago Nov. 29 as 5.5-point home favorites in their first meeting this season. Chicago has won and covered three straight versus Charlotte.

Bulls at Hornets odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 121, Hornets 107

Money line

GIMME the BULLS (-130) because the Hornets have bigger injury concerns in this matchup and Charlotte’s offense has been terrible lately.

The Hornets will be without three wings, which is a problem when facing Bulls’ wings Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan.

McDaniels and Martin are Charlotte’s first-and third-best players by adjusted on/off net rating, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

LaVine, DeRozan and Bulls C Nikola Vucevic got whatever they wanted in Chicago’s victory over Charlotte earlier this season.

Those three former and/or current All-Stars scored a combined 83 points on 59.7% shooting.  I don’t see how the Hornets match up better with the Bulls this time around.

Lastly, Charlotte’s offense has significantly regressed this month. The Hornets are 29th in net rating and 28th in both assist-to-turnover ratio and effective field-goal shooting in January.

BET BULLS (-130) for 1 unit.

Against the spread

PASS.

Chicago’s money line (ML) is only 15 cents on the dollar more expensive than the Bulls -1.5 (-115), so let’s not fuss with the points even though Chicago should certainly cover this number.

Over/Under

LEAN to the UNDER 235.5 (-107) for a one-third unit if at all, because I prefer Chicago’s ML rather than the total.

However, the look-ahead total for Bulls-Hornets was set at 230.5 and my instinct is to fade such dramatic line movement. According to Pregame.com, roughly 80% of the money is on the Over even at this new total.

Also, Charlotte has gone Under the total in five straight games and two of the three referees assigned to this game have officiated more Overs.

Again, my favorite play is the Bulls SU, but I “LEAN” to the UNDER 235.5 (-107).

The Bulls are playing for the second night in a row. They lost, 119-108, at home to the Philadelphia 76ers Sunday. They are 5-3 in their last eight games.

Suns at Bulls odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 114, Bulls 107

Money line

The Suns enter Monday night with the league’s best road record at 20-5, but the Bulls are much better at home than on the road. They are 19-9 at United Center, which is the best home record in the Eastern Conference.

The Suns have won nine of their last 10 road games and have won three straight matchups over the Bulls.

It’s chalky, but I LEAN SUNS (-270).

Against the spread

The Suns have covered the spread in six of their last 10 games. They are 16-9 ATS on the road. In each of their last six road wins, they have won by at least eight points.

The Bulls are 17-9 ATS in their home arena. They have covered the spread in five of their last 10 games.

Like with the spread, this is a lean. I LEAN SUNS -6.5 (-108).

Over/Under

The Suns are 23-28-1 this season overall, but they play more low-scoring games on the road. They are 8-16 O/U on the road this season.

The Bulls have scored 120 or more in five of their last six games and have allowed 115 or more points in six straight.

The Suns have held five of their last 10 road opponents to under 100 points and eight of their last 10 to 108 or fewer.

Take UNDER 228.5 (-110).

Chicago Bulls at Indiana Pacers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Chicago Bulls at Indiana Pacers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago Bulls (32-19) visit Gainbridge Fieldhouse Friday to take on the Indiana Pacers (19-34). Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Bulls vs. Pacers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Bulls are coming off a 127-120 overtime loss as 4.5-point underdogs at Toronto Thursday. They’ll wrap up this short two-game road trip in Indiana as road favorites, a situation where they’re 7-5-1 against the spread (ATS).

Overall, the Bulls are 29-21-1 ATS. They’ve covered 3 of their last 5 games, scoring 120 or more in 4 straight with the Over hitting in each. Chicago is 13-13 straight up on the road.

Indiana last played Wednesday, losing as a 3.5-point home favorite to lowly Orlando 119-118. The Pacers have generally played much better at home, posting a 13-14 record.

They topped 110 points in 5 of their last 6 games and covered 5 of their last 10 with a push. They are 25-25-3 ATS on the season.

Bulls at Pacers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Pacers 114, Bulls 112

Money line

SPRINKLE on the PACERS (+110).

The Pacers play much better at home, despite what a one-point loss to the Magic displays.

Indiana hasn’t played since Wednesday and has been at home, while Chicago will play its third game in four days. That’s going to wear down the Bulls’ energy.

While the Bulls are well over .500 on the season, they are just 5-4 with rest disadvantage.

Against the spread

BET PACERS +2.5 (-112).

Indiana is 6-4 as a home underdog this season and 18-16-1 ATS with one day of rest. Meanwhile, the Bulls are 5-4-1 ATS without rest.

While they’re going to be outmatched in terms of talent, the Pacers have players like small forwards Justin Holiday and Torrey Craig who can defend at a high level, potentially limiting a dangerous Bulls frontcourt.

The rest advantage should bode well for the Pacers, and with their home-court advantage, there’s no reason they shouldn’t be able to keep this game close.

Over/Under

LEAN to the UNDER 230.5 (-112).

The Bulls are going to eventually regress to their mean. They average 111.5 points on the season but have been on fire lately. They have a 122.1 offensive rating over their last 4 games.

While it’s easy to back them to continue this, on the road on the second night of a back-to-back having played a ton of basketball lately, along with the fact that this total is very high, I’d back the Under.

Indiana is 27-25-1 O/U this season, but it will be without Sabonis, the team’s leading scorer (19.1 points per game).

Orlando Magic at Chicago Bulls odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Tuesday’s Orlando Magic at Chicago Bulls odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Magic (11-40) bring their league-worst record into Tuesday’s road contest against the Chicago Bulls (31-18), trying to win their 12th game of the season and actually their third straight. Tip-off from United Center is at 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Magic vs. Bulls odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Magic are 3-1 in their last four games, beating the Bulls, Pistons and Mavericks in the last 10 days. Their loss in that stretch came to the Clippers, who claimed a 111-102 victory in Orlando. The Magic rank 28th in scoring (102.5 points per game) and 28th in field-goal percentage (43.2%), shooting an unimpressive 32.7% from 3-point range. PG Cole Anthony leads the team in scoring with 17.8 PPG, while C Wendell Carter Jr. is averaging a double-double (13.3 PPG, 10.1 RPG).

The Bulls are coming off a 130-116 win over the Trail Blazers Sunday, tying their fifth-most points scored in a game this season. Like the Magic, the Bulls are also 3-1 in their last four games, beating the Raptors and Thunder in addition to the Blazers, but losing to the Spurs 131-122 Friday. The Bulls are led by SF DeMar DeRozan, who’s averaging 26.4 PPG. SG Zach LaVine is putting up 24.9 PPG and sinks 2.9 3-pointers per game.

Magic at Bulls odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 117, Magic 107

Money line

PASS.

The Magic have won their last two games, but it might be time to sell high on them against a solid, but injured Bulls team. Chicago should win this game at home despite their recent rash of injuries as it shoots for a fourth win in the last five games.

I’m not going to lay a bet on the money line, though, because -410 is too rich to warrant a wager.

Against the spread

BET BULLS -8.5 (-115) to cover the spread and win comfortably.

The 8.5 points is the most Chicago has been favored by in any of its last 10 games. In the Bulls’ last four home games, they covered the spread three times, while Orlando is just 2-2 ATS on the road in its last four games.

Over/Under

OVER 221.5 (-120) is the way to go.

There hasn’t been an obvious trend on the Over/Under for the Bulls or Magic this season, but in their last 10 games, the Over is 6-3-1 for each team.

The total went Over in each of their last two games, including four of the last six for the Magic.

Chicago Bulls at Orlando Magic odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Chicago Bulls at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago Bulls (28-16) travel to Amway Center Sunday to take on the Orlando Magic (8-39). Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Bulls vs. Magic odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

At full strength, the Bulls are among the best in the Eastern Conference, but they’re being hit hard with the injury bug, losing three of their last four games. They’re 5-5 against the spread (ATS) over their last 10.

On the season, the Bulls have covered at a high rate, 26-18 ATS. They’re 12-10 straight-up (SU) on the road.

As for the Magic, they currently sit at the bottom of the East and are just 2-17 SU at home. They’ve failed to cover four straight, two as 11.5-point underdogs. Orlando is just 4-6 ATS over its last 10 games.

Bulls at Magic odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Bulls 108, Magic 101

Money line

PASS on the money line. While Orlando’s home struggles are too much to overcome, betting on the Bulls’ spread is the better value in this instance.

Against the spread

BET to the BULLS -3.5 (-108).

Chicago is still going to put two potential All-Star-caliber player on the court in F DeMar DeRozan and C Nikola Vucevic. DeRozan is in the MVP conversation as well.

Despite being short-handed, they’re still the better side. The Bulls rank seventh in offensive rating, and while their defense has slipped outside the top-10, it shouldn’t be too concerning as Orlando ranks 28th in offensive rating.

The Bulls also rank in the top-10 in turnover rate and top-five in true shooting percentage. They’ve been the far better side, and with the Magic having just two home wins, I’d rather side with the more proven, talented team.

Over/Under

“LEAN” on the UNDER 215.5 (-110).

The Bulls are down key scorers, and while I expect them to win, the players that are sidelined and the ones that brought the pace. Caruso and LaVine were terrific in transition with DeRozan and Vucevic more the premier halfcourt scorers.

As for the Magic, they rank 16th in pace and third-to-last in shooting. They’re 5-5 O/U the past 10 games.
