Gators get commitment from this blue-chip 2024 running back

Add another commitment to the 2024 class! Welcome to the Orange and Blue, Chauncey Bowens!

Amid the hubbub surrounding Florida football’s narrow win over the South Florida Bulls on Saturday night, one recruit attending the game saw enough from [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag]’s revamped program to pledge his talents to the Orange and Blue.

Four-star running back [autotag]Chauncey Bowens[/autotag] out of North Palm Beach (Florida) The Benjamin School committed to the University of Florida on Sunday in an announcement he posted on his Twitter account. The 5-foot-11-inch, 215-pound ball carrier received an offer from the Gators in June but seemed sold on what Gainesville has to offer early.

“I just fell in love with them since (the) first time I visited — everything about the program, the legacy, the new coaching staff all just made it easy for me,” he told Swamp 247.

“I was really excited and hyped to see the game day environment,” Bowens offered about his experience during the USF game. “The fans here, there were a lot out here. We got a feel for how it is out here when we were walking around on game day. I like how they have a lot of freedom around here. I just love this campus. It’s a lot different than any other place I have seen.”

The high school junior had 18 other suitors for his commitment, including the Miami Hurricanes, Central Florida Knights, Louisville Cardinals and Florida State Seminoles.

Bowens is ranked No. 242 overall and No. 13 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 consensus has him at Nos. 258 and 19, respectively. On3’s recruiting prediction machine had the Gators far in front in his recruitment with a 49.2% chance of landing him, while Miami, UCF and Louisville followed at 21.1%, 9.9% and 8.3%, respectively.

Another blue-chip recruit schedules visit for Florida’s season opener

The guest list for the Utah game keeps growing by the day. Here’s the latest blue-chipper to lock in a visit with UF for the season opener.

After canceling his trip to Gainesville for the Grill in the Ville cookout in July, four-star running back [autotag]Chauncey Bowens[/autotag] has set a makeup date of September 3 to visit the Swamp, according to Gators Online.

The class of 2024 recruit has already made three trips to Florida this season, making Saturday his fourth, but it will be everyone’s first gameday experience under Billy Napier. Seeing everything come together can go a long way for a recruit with over a year left to decide his fate, and the Utah game is one of the more high-profile home games Florida has this season.

UF is the early leader in Bowens’ recruitment, but Miami wants him too. The Gators hold 55.0% odds to land him on the On3 recruiting prediction machine, followed by the Hurricanes at 12.9% and UCF at 11.1%. Getting Bowens back on campus should boost Florida’s chances with him, though.

The On3 consensus ranks Bowens at No. 247 nationally and No. 17 among running backs in the class of 2024. The site’s individual rankings have him considerably higher at No. 15 overall and No. 10 at his position. 247Sports’ individual rankings rate him a three-star recruit, so that is likely what is bringing him down on the consensus.

Bowens attends The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, the alma mater of former Florida cornerback and 2022 first-round pick [autotag]Kaiir Elam[/autotag].

Football Recruiting: Rutgers offers four-star Chauncey Bowens

Rutgers extends offer to four-star running back Chauncey Bowens from class of 2024

Rutgers football continued their very strong recruiting effort in the state of Florida this week, as they extended an offer to running back Chauncey Bowens today, July 30.

A four-star recruit according to On3.com, Bowens is ranked as the No. 12 running back and the in the class of 2024 in the 247 Composite. The five-foot-eleven-inch versatile athlete from North Palm Beach, Florida is a multi-sport varsity athlete. He plays lacrosse as well as multiple events in track and field.

Bowens already has a strong offer list with multiple Power Five programs including Miami, Florida, Florida State, and Auburn. Fellow Big Ten programs Indiana and Illinois have also extended offers to the four-star back. The offer from the Seminoles came at the beginning of July.

Rutgers have clearly targeted Florida  heavily. In the last three recruiting classes, the Scarlet Knight program has extended 74 offers to players from the sunshine state – including a whopping 40 offers in the class of 2023.

Don’t let his size fool you, the young man has shown impressive strength in the weight room to go along with the athleticism needed to be a varsity athlete across multiple sports.

2024 4-star RB recruit is returning to the Swamp at the end of July

2024 four-star running back Chauncey Bowens will be in town for Florida’s Friday Night Lights camp and the recruiting cookout at the end of July.

Four-star running back [autotag]Chauncey Bowens[/autotag] has already been to Gainesville three times in 2022, and now he’s scheduled his next trip to the Swamp. On Monday, Bowens tweeted out that he’d be in town from July 29-30. Those are the dates of Florida’s Friday Night Lights camp and recruiting cookout.

It’ll be Bowens’ second trip of the summer after stopping by UF on June 22 and picking up a scholarship offer. On3’s Gators Online spoke to him following the visit and learned that he thinks very highly of the program. He also has family in Gainesville.

“It’s just one of those elite schools, one of those elite programs you want to play for,” Bowens said to GO.

Auburn, Florida State, Miami, West Virginia and UCF are among his other current offers, but Florida’s the only program to get him on campus more than once so far. It’s still very early in the process for Bowens through. A decision isn’t expected for at least a year.

“I know it’s really early, but I feel like Florida will definitely be a top-five, top-10 school for me just going off the history and the relationship I’m building with the coaches,” he said. “So I know it’s a little early, but we’ll see.”

It looks like things are going well so far with Bowens, but Miami could ramp things up quickly being a much closer drive than UF. Still, On3’s recruiting prediction machine has the Gators leading the pack with a 49.0% chance to land the rising junior.

Bowens is ranked No. 258 overall on the On3 consensus and is No. 18 among running backs in the class of 2024. The site’s individual rankings are a bit more bullish on him, placing Bowens at no. 159 nationally and No. 10 at his position.

Tigers offer 2024 four-star running back from Florida

Auburn extended an offer to 2024 four-star running back Chauncey Bowens on Friday.

On Friday, the Tigers coaching staff extended an offer to 2024 running back Chauncey Bowens. He is the fifth running back that Auburn has offered from the 2024 recruiting cycle.

Bowens is regarded as a four-star according to 247Sports’ recruiting rankings. He is listed at 5-foot-11 and 215 pounds. Thus far, he has received offers from Colorado, Miami, Illinois, and Coastal Carolina among others. Bowens is an interesting name in the 2024 class. It is also worth noting that Bowens runs track and plays lacrosse at The Benjamin School.

It is unclear who will be in the running back room for the Tigers by the time the 2024 season rolls around. As of right now, the room consists of Tank Bigsby (Jr.), Damari Alston (Fr.), Sean Jackson (So.), and Jarquez Hunter (So.). It is too early to predict who will be on the Plains with all of the uncertainty surrounding the program over the past few years. Nonetheless, Bowens will have an opportunity to prove himself to earn some valuable playing time early on in his college career. More teams will extend offers, but it is a good sign that Auburn is showing early interest.
