Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling praises teammates Patrick Mahomes and Mecole Hardman

Kansas City #Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling praises the impact of teammates Patrick Mahomes and Mecole Hardman.

The 2023 NFL season is approaching the midpoint, and teams are jockeying for postseason positioning. The Kansas City Chiefs are among the top teams in the league due in large part to teamwork and standout qualities from their offensive playmakers.

Chiefs Wire’s Ed Easton Jr. recently sat down with wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, courtesy of Charmin Ultra Soft Smooth Tear, to discuss the leadership of Patrick Mahomes while dealing with ailments and the impact of Mecole Hardman returning to the team.

“Just a competitor, man. That’s just who he is,” Valdes-Scantling explained. “Everything about him says he wants to compete as long as he can throw the football and he can go out there with one leg, as you saw last year. So that’s just the guy that we have leading us. You can’t ask for a better leader and better competitor.”

The Chiefs reacquired Hardman recently after a trade with the New York Jets to fortify their receiver’s room. He has an impact on the team that stretches beyond the football field, according to Valdes-Scantling.

“I mean, he’s a high-energy guy, man,” He explained. “You’ll hear him the second he walks into the building. He brings a different type of juice; obviously, his talent speaks for itself, you know, he’s one of those guys that you can’t just pick up off the street because of how fast he runs, man. He’s one of those unique talents that comes around every blue moon, I think he ran a 4.2 or something coming out.

“So, you know, that’s something that you can’t emulate. And having him part of our team is gonna pay off dividends. You saw it in the first week back when he had the big punt return. We had some hiccups yesterday with it. But he’s one of those guys where you give them the ball, and he’ll make something happen with it.”

Mahomes and Hardman were vital members of two Super Bowl title teams. Their effectiveness for the rest of this season will be crucial to the Chiefs’ chances of adding a third.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling says Charmin is helping on Chiefs’ trip to Germany

Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling says Charmin is helping on the team’s trip to Germany

The defending Super Bowl champions are entering Week 9 this Sunday, ready to bounce back with a strong showing against the Miami Dolphins. They will face the challenge of playing in a different country and trying to maintain their routine but will have some help in a very private manner.

Chiefs Wire’s Ed Easton Jr. recently sat down with wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, courtesy of Charmin Ultra Soft Smooth Tear, to discuss the importance of using its brand-new toilet paper on the trip to Frankfurt, Germany, and adjusting to different game times throughout the season.

“Yeah, Charmin is helping us out, man. Now, as we go over to Germany, being our home away from home, we are able to keep our routine the same,” Valdes-Scantling explained. “They gave us this Charmin Ultra Soft Smooth Tear toilet paper that we’re going to be able to take with us and just be able to go to another part of the world.

“You never know what to expect. And so being able to have some safety net and knowing what you’re going to be able to take with you is important because there’s nothing worse than getting to a spot and not having something comfortable. So Charmin is doing a great job.”

The former Green Bay Packers standout is no stranger to playing on a national platform. He explained his many primetime appearances before suiting up for the Chiefs.

“I mean, I played for the Packers before. And so we always had the primetime games, you know, we hardly ever had the 12 or one o’clock time slot. I think I probably had, you know, maybe eight of those, and my six-year plan, you know, maybe get one, one a year, two, if you’re lucky. And so I’ve always been on the 3:25 slot or the 7:25 slot.

“So, I’m just used to it. You know, and obviously, we are a good football team, people want to see you play. And so I’m just grateful that I’ve been on the good teams that people want to see play, as opposed to always having a 12 o’clock game that no one cares. And no one’s in the stands watching you play.”

The Chiefs are far and away one of the more popular teams in the NFL, and being the reigning Super Bowl champions has landed them in marquee games like this Sunday in Frankfurt.

Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling reveals team morale after Week 8 loss in Denver

#Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling reveals team morale after Week 8 loss in Denver

The Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 8 loss to the Denver Broncos shocked many prognosticators. The competition level in the NFL makes it impossible to predict an outcome, especially against a division rival.

Chiefs Wire’s Ed Easton Jr. recently sat down with wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, courtesy of Charmin Ultra Soft Smooth Tear, to discuss the team’s morale following the loss.

“Yeah, I mean, obviously, we don’t ever want to lose a game, especially against a divisional opponent that we think we should have beaten, but it’s the NFL, and I haven’t seen too many 17 – 0 teams win the Super Bowl,” Valdes-Scantling explained. “It’s tough to win games, especially against an opponent that you see, two weeks prior, and so obviously, they came out and they played well. And we did turn the ball over too many times. Our defense played as good as they could, but under those circumstances, we just got to be better on offense.”

The Chiefs receivers struggled with turnovers and missed opportunities throughout the game on Sunday. Valdes-Scantling spoke deeper about being the leader of the receiver’s room.

“Now we can’t win games with five turnovers, I can’t have that fumble, we can’t have the dropped punt, we just can’t have those things,” said Valdes-Scantling. “Those things are inexcusable, especially in my room as a receiver. I take full accountability for the turnovers that we had because I’m the leader in that room. And so that’s an important thing for me to go in and own as a leader of that room.”

The Chiefs suffered their first defeat to the Broncos since 2015 and will look to get back on track this week in Frankfurt, Germany, against the Miami Dolphins.
