Wayne Gretzky’s Sherwood house (once Lenny Dykstra’s) back on the market for a cool $22.9 million

As play heats up at the Zozo Championship at Sherwood Country Club just outside Los Angeles, a Hall of Fame hockey star with plenty of ties to golf is looking to skip out of the neighborhood — for a second time.

Wayne Gretzky, father-in-law to World No. 1 Dustin Johnson, has put his mansion in Thousand Oaks back on the market for nearly $10 million more than he bought it for just three years ago.

Gretzky, the all-time leading goal scorer in the history of the National Hockey League, built the home with his actress/model wife Janet Jones back in 2002 and then sold the property to former Major League Baseball star Lenny Dykstra for $18.5 million in 2007.

Dykstra fell into debt and the home was auctioned off, it changed hands twice before Gretzky again purchased the property — this time for $13.5 million.

The going rate is now $22.9 million for the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom estate that includes a glamorous pool, tennis court and amazing views of Sherwood below.

According to the Los Angeles Times, “the grounds include an elegant Colonial-style home designed by Richard Landry, two guesthouses, a swimming pool, tennis court and entertainment area surrounded by rolling lawns and manicured gardens. … A motor court approaches the main residence, winding its way toward a porte-cochere entry lined with columns. Inside, shades of black and white fill formal spaces such as a chandelier-topped living room, marble kitchen, movie theater, billiards room and gym.”

The 13,000-square foot home comes with a hefty mortgage payment, and a hefty tax bill. Gretzky paid $144,016 in taxes on the estate in 2019.

Fred Couples takes a loss on sale of 5-bedroom California home

The home sits in the middle of the gated and ultra-exclusive Big Canyon Country Club, one of the priciest clubs to join in the country.

The scores didn’t completely add up for Fred Couples when he sold his Newport Beach, California, home earlier this month.

According to Zillow, Couples’ home on Winged Foot Lane officially sold last weekend for $3.25 million. Sure, that’s a tidy sum, but it’s about a half-million dollars less than Couples originally listed the property at last year.

Couples, who has 15 PGA Tour wins and 13 more on the PGA Tour Champions circuit, had dropped the price in February, June and again in August before finally finding a buyer.

He bought the Los Angeles-area property in 2015 for $3.475 million.

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom estate sits in the middle of the gated and ultra-exclusive Big Canyon Country Club, widely considered one of the priciest clubs to join in the country.

The house, which was built in 1972, isn’t far from the Pacific Ocean and is also close to the University of California-Irvine.

The golf course was built by Robert Muir Graves and opened in 1971.

The club hosted the 2014 U.S. Senior Amateur competition.

Tiger Woods’ ex Elin Nordegren buys house for $9.9M after selling estate for $28.6M in Palm Beach County

Tiger Woods’ ex, Elin Nordegren, has bought a $9.9M home after selling estate for $28.6M in Palm Beach County.

Elin Nordegren, the ex-wife of golf legend Tiger Woods, has downsized in Palm Beach County after selling her custom beachfront mansion last week for a recorded $28.6 million.

Nordegren paid a recorded $9.9 million for a six-bedroom house on 2 acres in the Old Palm Golf Club development in Palm Beach Gardens, a deed recorded this week shows.

Built in 2010, the house she bought has 16,841 square feet of living space, inside and out, property records show. Of that total, 13,504 square feet is under air conditioning. The property includes a large vacant parcel next door.

She bought the house at 12251 Tillinghast Circle as trustee of the Northern Lights Trust, the same entity through which she owned and sold her beachfront house in Seminole Landing.

The renovated property in Old Palm Golf Club faces a pond on the gated community’s golf course. The house’s layout includes a dining room, home office, gym and a club/media room, according to the property’s sales listing. Other features include a well-equipped kitchen and a glass-enclosed refrigerated wine room that can store more than 500 bottles.

The deed recorded Tuesday shows the property was sold by Tillinghast Holdings LLC, a Florida limited liability company. That entity is managed by Larry Ross and as a Palm Beach address on Royal Palm Way, state business records show.

Brokers at Leibowitz Realty Group handled the seller’s side of the deal. Michael Leibowitz co-listed the property with Andrew Leibowitz, according to the multiple listing service. The estate was priced at $12.495 million when it sold.

Agent Dory Faxon of Frankel Ball Realty acted for the buyer.

Via a deed recorded Sept 11, Nordegren sold her Seminole Landing house to billionaire Rockstar Energy Drink creator Russell Weiner of Delray Beach, who bought it using a revocable trust in his name, courthouse records show.

The Seminole Landing house has 11 bedrooms and about 26,000 square feet. Completed in 2014, it stands on a 1.4-acre lot with 200 feet of shoreline in an unincorporated area near North Palm Beach.

Nordegren listed her estate for sale in March 2018 at $49.5 million, a price later dropped to $44.5 million. Agents Cris Condon, Todd Peter and Frances Peter of Sotheby’s International Realty in Palm Beach had the listing, and Todd Peter handled the buyer’s side in the sale last week.

Woods and Nordegren married in 2004 and had two children. Their contentious divorce was finalized in 2010, with Nordegren receiving a settlement reported at $100 million.
