USC lands commitment from three-star defensive lineman

USC grabbed a three-star defensive lineman on Sunday, providing much-needed depth for a group which needs a lot of bodies in 2025.

It was a very busy day for USC football recruiting. On Sunday, USC landed a commitment from class of 2025 three-star defensive lineman Cash Jacobsen.

“Dedication & hard work make dreams come true. I am 100% committed to the University of Southern California,” Jacobsen said in a post on social media.

Jacobsen comes to USC from Jenks, Oklahoma. Per 247Sports, he is the number 1358 overall player in the class of 2025, the number 149 defensive lineman, and the number 25 player in the state of Oklahoma.

The Jacobsen commitment followed two huge recruiting stories for USC football on Sunday. The Trojans lost the commitment of quarterback Julian Lewis but were able to quickly regroup by gaining the commitment of quarterback Husan Longstreet, who flipped from Texas A&M. The Trojans and Lincoln Riley managed to have a plan in place for a Julian Lewis change of heart, and it’s very important that they did.

USC currently holds the No. 13 recruiting class in the country for the 2024-2025 cycle, per 247’s rankings. Three Big Ten teams currently sit ahead of the Trojans: Ohio State at No. 1, Oregon at No. 6, and Michigan at No. 11.

Oklahoma Sooners to host in-state defensive line prospect Saturday

Oklahoma Sooners to host three-star in-state prospect Cash Jacobsen Saturday when the Maine Black Bears come to town.

The Oklahoma Sooners will have a big-time in-state prospect in town this Saturday when they host the Maine Black Bears.

Jenks defensive lineman Cash Jacobsen will visit Oklahoma Football on Saturday, according to a post he shared on X. According to 247Sports, Jacobsen is currently rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 25 player in Oklahoma in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag]. He has seen his stock rise during his senior season. This fall, he’s received offers from schools like Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, San Diego State, Boise State, and USC.

Jacobsen committed to FCS South Dakota State in June, but backed off of that pledge on October 12 as Power Four offers began to roll in.

He’s listed at 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds and is a versatile defensive lineman, playing defensive end in both three and four-man alignments as well as defensive tackle in three-man fronts. Jacobsen displays good strength and excellent effort to go along with a solid set of pass rush moves.

The Sooners have room in the 2025 recruiting class after the decommitments of defensive linemen Floyd Boucard and Ka’Mori Moore this fall. The Sooners will have an opportunity to make their recruiting pitch this weekend during Jacobsen’s visit.
