Georgia OL target Casey Poe makes commitment

The Dawgs missed on an offensive lineman here…

Georgia is the hottest team on the recruiting trail right now, but the Bulldogs can’t win them all. Class 2024 four-star offensive lineman Casey Poe  announced his commitment to Alabama.

Poe, out of Lindale, Texas, chose Alabama over Georgia, LSU, Clemson, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Auburn.

Poe is the No. 4 interior offensive lineman and the No. 103 recruit overall in his class, per the 247Sports composite.

Georgia, which holds the No. 1 class, should be happy with the offensive line group as it stands. The Bulldogs have commitments from four-stars Daniel Calhoun (No. 4 OT), Nyier Daniels (No. 10 OT), Michael Uini (No. 14 OT) and Marques Easley (No. 17), along with three-star Marcus Harrison (No. 30 OT).

The average weight of this group is an astonishing 345 pounds.

Four star OL Casey Poe commits to Alabama over Auburn

The Crimson Tide has edged Auburn for one of the top offensive linemen in the country for the 2024 class.

Hugh Freeze, Jake Thornton, and the entire coaching staff at Auburn hoped to land its first offensive line commitment of the 2024 cycle on Wednesday.

However, it was not meant to be.

[autotag]Casey Poe[/autotag], a four-star offensive tackle from Lindale, Texas, announced his commitment to Alabama on Wednesday, choosing the Crimson Tide over Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech.

Poe spent the month of June visiting several campuses across the country, including Auburn. While he was on his visit to the Plains in mid-June, he called his time “special.” However, he visited Alabama the following week, and that is when the Crimson Tide built momentum. Following his visit to Tuscaloosa, 247Sports and On3 each predicted that Poe would commit to Alabama.

Now that Poe is off the board, Auburn remains in the hunt to land several offensive linemen including four-star [autotag]DeAndre Carter[/autotag], four-star [autotag]Preston Taumua[/autotag], and three-star [autotag]Jameson Riggs[/autotag].

2024 IOL, Texas native Casey Poe commits to Alabama

2024 interior offensive lineman Casey Poe announced his commitment to Alabama on Wednesday. Poe chose the Crimson Tide over Texas Tech and Oklahoma among others.

Alabama received a huge commitment on Wednesday when 2024 interior offensive lineman Casey Poe announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide. Poe chose Alabama over LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech among others.

Poe took an official visit to Alabama from June 23-25. The lifelong Alabama fan has been a priority offensive line target for offensive line coach Eric Wolford for quite some time. Now, the two will be able to coincide in Tuscaloosa.

Poe is physical at the point of attack which is something that Wolford really likes. He does a good job of finishing off blocks as well.

As a junior at Lindale High School, Poe was a unanimous first-team selection in Texas Texas District 9-4A D-1.

Poe is the second offensive linemen to commt to Alabama as a part of the 2024 recruiting class. The other commit is three-star center Joseph Ionata.

Recruiting Roundup: 5 recruits that Alabama fans need to keep a close eye on in July

here are a handful of targets that are set to announce their commitment this month, here’s who you should know.

Alabama is expected to pick up some steam on the recruiting trail in July. A number of 2024 and 2025 prospects are set to announce their decisions with the Crimson Tide being at the forefront in their recruitment.

Thus far, Alabama has 10 commits in the 2024 recruiting class and three commits in the 2025 recruiting class.

The 2024 prospects cannot take official visits until the end of July, so there will be a window of about three weeks where recruits choose to commit. Some will close down their recruitment while others will continue to take visits to see what other programs have to offer.

Ultimately, I expect July to be one of the biggest months in Alabama recruiting history. There are a number of recruits that have set commitment dates while others could decide to commit at any time. I really like Alabama’s chances of closing out the summer on a good note.

Roll Tide Wire lists five recruits that Alabama fans should keep a close eye on in the month of July.

Auburn OL target Casey Poe is down to seven schools ahead of his commitment

He is deciding between Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma and Texas Tech.

[autotag]Casey Poe[/autotag] is one of the top offensive linemen in the country and a major Auburn target. The four-star prospect has taken several trips to the Plains including an official visit during June.

He is ready to wrap up his recruitment as he announced Saturday that he will be committing on July 12. The Lindale, Texas, product will be deciding between Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma and Texas Tech.

Poe added that the announcement will be on his Instagram account and that he “might surprise some people.”

He is the No. 105 overall player and No. 6 interior offensive lineman in the 247Sports Recruiting ranking. He is also the No. 20 player from Texas.

While Poe enjoyed his “special” visit to Auburn, they look to be playing catch up to Nick Saban and Alabama who have emerged as the heavy favorite to land the 6-foot-5 and 290-pounder.

Auburn OL target receives crystal ball to Alabama ahead of commitment date

Auburn looks to remain high on 2024 OL Casey Poe’s radar ahead of his July commitment.

Auburn has been vocal about the need to add several talented offensive linemen to their 2024 class. One of those players is four-star [autotag]Casey Poe[/autotag] from Lindale, Texas.

Poe visited Auburn earlier this month and complimented the one-on-one relationships that he has built with [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and offensive line coach [autotag]Jake Thornton[/autotag].

The visit was successful, but it appears that Auburn has some competition with its in-state rival for the signature of Poe.

Following his visit to Auburn, Poe took a visit to Alabama. The visit to Tuscaloosa went so well, that Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports has given the Crimson Tide a crystal ball prediction to earn his commitment on July 12. Wiltfong’s prediction is the first for Poe.

Andrew J. Bone of Bama Online spoke with Poe’s father about the benefits of Alabama, and he says that the standard that Alabama projects is tough to beat.

“It’s the culture,” Poe’s father, Casey, tells On3. “It’s the accountability. They know how to do it. They hold kids accountable to a higher standard.”

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Alabama has an 86.2% chance to land Poe, with Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Auburn trailing.

Key OL target Casey Poe sets commitment date after ‘special’ visit to Auburn

Casey Poe will visit Alabama before announcing his commitment in July.

Four-star prospect [autotag]Casey Poe[/autotag] is one of the top offensive linemen in the country and a major Auburn target. He took another look at Auburn over the weekend on a “special” official visit he told Christian Clemente of Auburn Undercover.

“It was great,” Poe said. “Every OV, it’s exciting and you do fun stuff or whatever, but here it was really fun. We got to build some real relationships I feel like. Got to know the coaches, got to spend a lot of time with the coaches, which is huge for me. I’m a huge relationship guy, so being able to build that one-on-one connection, it was my second time back in Auburn and so really being able to be on campus, get to know the coaches better — even go to their house. We saw coach Freeze’s house, coach Thornton’s house, we got to just sit in with their kids. My dad read a book to coach Thornton’s little son, so we got to see them in their natural element. It was a great time, we had a lot of fun.”

It was the 6-foot-5, 290-pounder’s second visit to The Plains and allowed him to continue to build his relationship with offensive line coach [autotag]Jake Thornton[/autotag].

Poe has also taken official visits to Clemson, Georgia and Texas Tech but his trip to Auburn stood out to the Lindale, Texas, native.

“It stacks up great,” Poe said. “I’ve been on a lot of fun officials, I’ve been to a lot of different places, but this one was special. This one was really good.”

He will take an official visit to Alabama on June 23 before committing on July 12.

Poe is the No. 143 overall player and No. 8 interior offensive lineman on the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 27 player from Texas.

Nation’s top interior lineman schedules official visit to Auburn

The weekend of June 16 gets more interesting as DeAndre Carter schedules his official visit to Auburn.

Several of the hottest names in the 2024 recruiting cycle are choosing Auburn as one of their stops on their summer official visit tour.

One of those paying a visit to Auburn is one of the top offensive linemen in the country.

[autotag]DeAndre Carter[/autotag], a 6-foot-4, 340-pound interior offensive lineman from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, will visit Auburn during the weekend of June 16-18 according to a report from Christian Clemente of Auburn Undercover.

Auburn has come into the picture for Carter, joining Michigan State and USC as the top three schools in the hunt. The Tigers have work to do, as they extended an offer to Carter late in his recruitment on June 7. The good news is that several of the nation’s top offensive linemen are set to visit Auburn that same weekend including [autotag]Casey Poe[/autotag] and [autotag]Jameson Riggs[/autotag].

According to Clemente, Carter could play either guard or tackle.

Carter is the No. 57 overall prospect from the 2024 cycle and the No. 1 interior lineman in the country according to 247Sports. 247Sports does not have a crystal ball prediction for Carter, but On3’s recruiting prediction machine gives USC a 51.3% chance to sign Carter.

Four star OL Casey Poe to officially visit Auburn in June

Poe, a top-25 lineman from the state of Texas, lists Auburn among his schools to officially visit.

The number of offensive linemen that have made their way onto Auburn’s roster over the last year has been rather surprising but in the best way.

What better way to keep the momentum going than by bringing one of the class of 2024’s top linemen to campus for an official visit?

That is what Auburn will do this June as [autotag]Casey Poe[/autotag], a four-star lineman from Lindale, Texas, has announced that he will be visiting Auburn officially on June 16 according to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports. According to his itinerary, Auburn will be Poe’s third official visit of the summer. He also plans to visit Clemson, Alabama, and Oklahoma.

Poe has only visited Auburn once, but offensive line coach [autotag]Jake Thornton[/autotag] is actively working to sign Poe by pitching the opportunity for early playing time.

“Just kind of how I can help flip the program and get it back to where it’s supposed to be. I’d come in and play early and fight for that spot. Depending on how I do, maybe I’d play as a freshman and get some time there,” Poe said in a recent interview with Auburn Undercover ($). “It’s a number of things he’s selling, but mostly overall it’s the family atmosphere, the family vibe and they’re ready to win a championship again.”

Auburn currently has five players committed for the 2024 cycle, led by four-star quarterback [autotag]Walker White[/autotag]. Several other priority 2024 recruits have locked in official visits such as wide receiver [autotag]Nick Marsh[/autotag] and EDGE [autotag]Jamonta Waller[/autotag].
