The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) has released its first spring coaches poll. For Carnegie Mellon, not much has changed.

Carnegie Mellon University received seven first-place votes to begin the spring at No. 1, while Methodist University sits at No. 2.

The Tartans of Carnegie Mellon also began the 2020 spring season seated atop the first WGCA Coaches Poll. It’s just that the season ended abruptly shortly after that because of COVID.

Washington University in St. Louis comes in at No. 3 with two first-place votes, followed by George Fox University at No. 4, while Williams College received one first-place vote to rank No. 5.

Illinois Wesleyan remains the No. 1 team in the latest Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll.

Illinois Wesleyan remains the No. 1 team in the latest Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll.

The Titans, who have been ranked No. 1 in seven consecutive rankings dating back to last season, tallied 13 of the 16 first-place votes with No. 4 Carnegie Mellon getting a vote. Piedmont, tied for the fifth spot, received the other two first-place votes. Huntingdon, Emory and Carnegie Mellon find themselves in the 2-3-4 positions while Methodist is tied with Piedmont in that fifth spot.

Saint Johns(Minnesota), Redlands and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute all joined the top 25 after being previously unraked.

Huntingdon, Emory, Carnegie Mellon and Methodist round out the top five. Carnegie Mellon (1) and No. 6 Piedmont (2) received the other first-place votes.

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association has released its first poll of the spring season. For Carnegie Mellon, not much has changed.

The university, which is located in Pittsburg, received all but two first-place votes to begin the spring at No. 1, while Washington University in St. Louis ranks No. 2 with one first-place vote. The No. 2 position is one better than how Washington-St. Louis finished the spring. The Bears replaced Redlands, which received only one first-place vote and fell to No. 9 in the poll.

Methodist University comes in at No. 3, followed by New York University at No. 4 and Williams College at No. 5.
