At any given time, roughly a third of the league is on veteran or rookie minimum contracts. By and large, these are young and unproven or older and nearly washed players, balancing on a knife’s edge for their NBA careers. Most second-round picks, for example, end up signing minimum deals, and few stick in the league for too long. But every once in a while, a minimum player makes you sit up and take notice of their play.

Here are the Top 20 players to play on minimum deals. (For this exercise, we’re focusing on players on minimum contracts for full seasons).

Notre Dame communicating regularly with 2025 Florida shooting guard

Hope he ultimately picks the Irish.

So far, Notre Dame has not received any commitments for its 2025 recruiting class. Naturally, the only way to change that is to stay in constant contact with the recruits who might ultimately fill that list. One of those is four-star shooting guard recruit Dante Allen from Riviera Prep in Miami. At least that’s the case according to recruiting insider Jake Lieberman:

What makes this particular case interesting is that Notre Dame currently is not listed among the schools interested in him on 247Sports. In fairness though, the timeline on his profile hasn’t been updated since the late summer of 2022, so who knows how accurate that is?

Allen is the No. 10 2025 recruit in Florida according to 247Sports in a class that includes the twin sons of former NBA player Carlos Boozer. This past season, he averaged 21.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.4 steals a game.

A two-way guard would be a nice get for an Irish team still trying to build its culture. Of course, Allen has to say yes in the end. We’ll see how this goes.

Cooper Flagg faces Carlos Boozer’s son in Chipotle Nationals on Friday afternoon

Cooper Flagg, the Duke signee and top recruit in the Class of 2024, faces off with the son of Duke legend Carlos Boozer in the Chipotle Nationals semifinals on Friday.

Cooper Flagg, the five-star Duke signee and the top overall recruit in the Class of 2024, has already had an eventful week. He helped lead the East team to a comeback win in the McDonald’s All-American Game on Tuesday night before he scored 16 points in a quarterfinal victory on Thursday night at Chipotle Nationals.

The future Blue Devil won’t slow down on Friday, however, as he and Montverde Academy take on Cameron Boozer and Columbus High School.

Boozer, the son of Duke legend Carlos Boozer, is the No. 2 overall prospect in the Class of 2025. He scored 20 points and contributed 10 rebounds, five assists, and four blocks in a 71-58 victory over Long Island Lutheran in the quarterfinals.

The 6-foot-9 forward has yet to commit to a school, but the Blue Devils have extended him an offer.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 with tipoff set for 4:30 p.m.

Jeremy Roach (likely) finishes Duke career 32nd on the all-time points list

All signs seem to be pointing to Jeremy Roach ending his Duke career with 1,469 points, the third-most of any Blue Devil who debuted after 2010.

Jeremy Roach has likely played his final game in a Blue Devils uniform, meaning his storied four-year career will conclude with 1,469 career points.

That’s enough for the senior captain to finish 32nd on the all-time scoring list in program history, one spot behind legendary forward Carlos Boozer.

Roach averaged 11.3 points per game across his career, including a career-high 14.0 as a senior. The last player left who started for legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski, he made the Elite Eight twice, including the 2022 run to the Final Four.

His 1,469 points are the third-most of any Duke player who started his career after 2010. Quinn Cook (2012-15) finished with 1,571 points, and Grayson Allen (2015-18) finished with 1,996.

The fourth-year guard passed names like Seth Curry, Mason Plumlee, Mike Dunleavy, Amile Jefferson, and Jay Bilas on the career scoring list this season.

Roach could theoretically take an additional year next season since he hasn’t yet used his COVID extension year from 2020, but considering he was honored at senior night, all signs point to this having been his final run as a Blue Devil.

Former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer sings praises of Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama

Former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer recently had some high praise for San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama.

As he was entering the league, the hype around San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama was astronomical. And now that he’s in the NBA playing games, the lore is only growing. Wembanyama is an absolute freak of nature on the basketball court in the best way possible.

His physical stature alone is bewildering, and it’s only matched by his talent on the court. Wembanyama can shoot, dribble, defend, and rebound at a high level, all while standing at roughly 7-foot-5. Current and former NBA players alike have taken notice and have been singing Wembanyama’s praises for the past few months.

During a recent interview with Betway, former All-Star Carlos Boozer sang Wembanyama’s praises.

Carlos Boozer reflects on time with Derrick Rose-led Bulls: ‘We were like rockstars’

During a recent interview, Carlos Boozer reflected on his time with the Derrick Rose-led Chicago Bulls.

Michael Jordan was the ultimate celebrity when he was in the NBA. His presence alone made the Chicago Bulls a worldwide brand – a fact that now remains to this day. But since his departure from the league, the Bulls have produced plenty more star-level players.

The most notable of the bunch was Derrick Rose, whose connection to the city of Chicago made him a fan favorite. In turn, the Rose-led Bulls were one of the more popular teams in recent memory. With Luol Deng, Joakim Noah, Carlos Boozer, and others by his side, Rose brought the Bulls back onto the main stage.

During a recent interview with Betway, Boozer reflected on his time in Chicago with that group.

Carlos Boozer calls Derrick Rose ‘most athletic point guard’ in NBA history

Former Chicago Bulls big man Carlos Boozer called Derrick Rose the “most athletic point guard” in NBA history.

Throughout the years, the Chicago Bulls have fielded plenty of competitive teams. Obviously, the Michael Jordan-led Bulls were the cream of the crop, but since then, they’ve managed to put together some solid rosters. Derrick Rose helped the Bulls reach the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since Jordan in 2011, but he needed some help.

Chicago was led by Rose, but guys like Joakim Noah, Luol Deng, and Carlos Boozer were crucial in the team’s success. Boozer joined the team via a trade with the Utah Jazz prior to the start of the 2010-11 season. He went from playing with one All-Star guard in Deron Williams to another in Rose.

In an interview with Betway, Boozer discussed the differences between the two, throwing some high praise Rose’s way.

The son of another former All-Star power forward – Carlos Boozer – Cameron averaged 21.1 points, 11.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.3 steals per game this past season while leading his team to a state championship.

Boozer is ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2025. So far he has offers from Duke, Michigan, Miami, Florida State and Arkansas.
