X-rays negative on Marquise Brown’s injured foot

The Cardinals could miss Brown in their Week 7 Thursday night game against the Saints.

The Arizona Cardinals suffered a 19-9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday and also potentially lost wide receiver Marquise Brown to a foot injury.

After the game, he was wearing a boot on his left foot. He told reporters, “X-rays are good, so that’s the positive.”

He said he would have to see how things feel on Monday.

He had his left foot tangled up with Seahawks cornerback Tariq Woolen when Woolen intercepted a pass from Kyler Murray. Brown had to be assisted off the field.

Since the Cardinals play in Week 7 on Thursday night, the injury casts doubt on Brown’s availability for this week.

Arizona will get back receiver DeAndre Hopkins back from his six-game PED suspension.

Unfortunately, the long-awaited pairing of Brown and Hopkins might not happen yet.

They get Hopkins back, but Brown might not be able to play.

OL Justin Pugh to have MRI on injured knee

It seems unlikely Pugh will be able to start on Thursday night against the Saints.

Arizona Cardinals starting left guard Justin Pugh has been dealing with injuries all season and has a new one. He left the first half of the Cardinals’ 19-9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks with a right knee injury and did not return.

After the game, he had a brace on his leg.

Pugh is scheduled to have an MRI on his leg, he said, to determine the severity of the injury.

The Cardinals next play on Thursday night, so it seems unlikely he will be able to play.

That means, unless the Cardinals designate offensive lineman Cody Ford from injured reserve and activate him this week without any full practice, it will be Max Garcia starting against the Saints.
