Conner was limited Thursday and Rondale Moore still was unable to practice.
The Arizona Cardinals went back to work in practice on Thursday and had almost everyone back on the field. After six players were given rest days to start the week, they were all back at work.
As such, the Cardinals’ second injury report of the week looked far less lengthy.
Three players did not participate and two were limited.
There is a chance the Cardinals could have both Conner and Moore in the lineup against the Rams this weekend.
The Arizona Cardinals released their first injury report of Week 3 Wednesday afternoon. It had nine players listed as not practicing. Six of those, though, were just resting after the offense played 87 snaps in their 29-23 overtime win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Two players of note were out with an injury. Running back James Conner, who exited Sunday’s game with an ankle injury early in the third quarter, did not practice. Neither did receiver Rondale Moore, who has missed the first two games of the year with a pulled hamstring.
Both have a chance to play this week.
“(Moore) is day to day still,” head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Wednesday. “We’ve got to just see how this progresses. He’s a guy that’s very cerebral and knows the system so if he can go by Friday or Saturday, I think we’d feel good about it.”
Greg Dortch has played well in Moore’ place so far, leading the Cardinals with 11 receptions for 118 yards, but getting Moore in the lineup against a depleted Rams secondary would be huge.
As for Conner, his status is the same as Moore’s.
“He’s doing okay,” Kingsbury said Wednesday. “Same deal — he’s day to day. We’ll try to get him doing something (Thursday) and see how it goes.”
If he is unable to go, the Cardinals will roll with Darrel Williams and Eno Benjamin.
The Cardinals’ second injury report will come out Thursday afternoon and Friday afternoon is when we will know their game status.
The Cardinals and Rams kick off Sunday afternoon at State Farm Stadium at 1:25 p.m. Arizona time.
It appears the Rams will have two backups starting on the offensive line and their No. 2 CB was just placed on IR.
The Arizona Cardinals have had to deal with injury issues in the secondary and on the offensive line early this season. They are coming out of that and now their Week 3 opponent, the Los Angeles Rams, are facing injuries on their offensive line and secondary.
No. 2 cornerback Troy Hill was just placed on injured reserve. He will not play.
David Long, normally the Rams’ No. 3 and slot cornerback, started the week limited in practice. Rookie Cobie Durant did not practice Wednesday.
On the offensive line, starting center Brian Allen missed the Rams’ Week 2 game and missed practice Wednesday. If he can’t start, Coleman Shelton will start. Shelton was the Rams’ starting right guard in Week 1.
Tremayne Anchrum, who started at right guard Sunday, played only two snaps before breaking his ankle. His season is over.
They already are having to adjust to an offensive line without left tackle Andrew Whitworth, who retired after last season. Joe Noteboom starts now but has dealt with a knee injury as well.
Oday Aboushi, signed from the practice squad to the active roster this week, could end up starting at right guard this week.
With their depth challenged up front and in the secondary, the Cardinals have an opportunity to take advantage of a Rams squad that is not at full strength.
