Rondale Moore, Greg Dortch inactive for Cardinals vs. Chargers

Check out which players for the Cardinals will not dress against the Chargers.

The Arizona Cardinals are set to take on the Los Angeles Chargers and have released their list of inactive players. There are no real surprises. Wide receivers Rondale Moore and Greg Dortch are both inactive for the game and will not dress. Moore was ruled out with a groin injury he sustained last week. Dortch was questionable with a thumb injury but, as of the weekend, was not expected to play.

Who will not dress for the Cardinals this afternoon?

Arizona Cardinals Week 12 inactives vs. Chargers

  • WR Rondale Moore
  • CB Byron Murphy
  • QB Trace McSorley
  • S Charles Washington
  • LB Jesse Luketa
  • OL Wyatt Davis
  • WR Greg Dortch

Moore, Murphy and Washington were all ruled out with injuries. McSorley was questionable with an illness but probably would not have been active if he had not been sick.

Luketa and Davis are healthy scratches.

Offensive lineman Max Garcia returns after missing four games with a shoulder injury. He could be in the starting lineup at right guard, although the team likes what rookie Lecitus Smith has done so far.

Murphy misses his third straight game, meaning Marco Wilson and Antonio Hamilton will handle the cornerback duties with Trayvon Mullen in the mix.

With Moore and Dortch out, Andre Baccellia and Pharoh Cooper should see work, although how much playing time will remain to be seen as Marquise Brown returns from injured reserve.

‘Madden’ sim has Cardinals losing to Chargers on last-second FG

In a simulation of the Cardinals’ game against the Chargers, Arizona rallies to take a lead in the final 2 minutes but loses on last-second FG.

[sendtonews_embed video_id=”xhceaxsrAk-2381648-7498″]

The Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Chargers play this afternoon at State Farm Stadium. We don’t know yet how the game will play out.

In a simulation of the game on Madden NFL 23, it is a good game with a heartbreaking end for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals rally from a 10-0 deficit and take a 24-23 lead with under two minutes remaining in the game, only for the Chargers to march down the field and have Cameron Dicker, who beat them with a game-winning field goal for the Eagles earlier this season, hits a 19-yard field goal as time expires to win the game 26-24.

Chargers QB Justin Herbert throws three touchdown passes, two to Keenan Allen, who has nine receptions for 182 yards. Tight end Gerald Everett has nine catches for 86 yards and a touchdown. Herbert finishes with 366 passing yards.

For the Cardinals, James Conner has 59 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Kyler Murray has 311 passing yards and a touchdown to DeAndre Hopkins.

It is a big game for rookie tight end Trey McBride. He has nine catches for 100 yards.

WR Greg Dortch not expected to play for Cardinals vs. Chargers

Dortch’s thumb injury will keep him out of the lineup against the Chargers. Andre Baccellia and Phraoh Cooper will replace him.

[sendtonews_embed video_id=”xhceaxsrAk-2381648-7498″]

The Arizona Cardinals have ruled out wide receiver Rondale Moore for this week because of a groin injury. His replacement in the lineup, as well as the team’s primary kick and punt returner, Greg Dortch, is questionable with a thumb injury.

The Cardinals aren’t counting on Dortch being available.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Dortch is not expected to play.

Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury said it would come down to a game-day decision. They need to see whether he can handle the pain and whether he can catch the ball or not.

In roster moves on Saturday, they signed receiver Andre Baccellia from the practice squad to the active roster and elevated recently signed receiver Pharoh Cooper from the practice squad to the active roster.

Cooper will likely handle return duties and Baccellia will fill the role on offense that Dortch would have had.

The Cardinals do get back receiver Marquise Brown after five games. He was activated from injured reserve and will be in the lineup with DeAndre Hopkins for the first time this season.

Cardinals add 2 WR, TE Maxx Williams to roster for game vs. Chargers

Maxx Williams will play and the Cardinals added Andre Baccellia and Pharoh Cooper with injuries to Greg Dortch and Rondale Moore.

[sendtonews_embed video_id=”xhceaxsrAk-2381648-7498″]

The Arizona Cardinals announced three additions to the active roster on Saturday to deal with injuries to players on offense.

They signed one player and then elevated a pair from the practice squad.

As tight end Zach Ertz was placed on injured reserve, tight end Maxx Williams was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster. It is the second week in a row the Cardinals have done this.

With receiver Rondale Moore out this week with a groin injury and receiver Greg Dortch questionable with a thumb injury, the Cardinals added two receivers.

The signed Andre Baccellia from the practice squad and elevated receiver Pharoh Cooper from the practice squad.

Presumably, Cooper will be used as the team’s returner and Baccellia will fill Dortch’s role on offense.

The Cardinals and Chargers kick off at State Farm Stadium at 2:05 p.m. Arizona time.

Cardinals activate Marquise Brown from IR, place Zach Ertz, D.J. Humphries on IR

Marquise Brown makes his return to the lineup but D.J. Humphries will now have to miss at least another four games.

The Arizona Cardinals announced three roster moves related to injured reserve. Two were expected and one was a surprise.

Wide receiver Marquise Brown was activated from IR and will play on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. He was designated to return in Week 11. He has been out since Week 6. It will be the first time he and DeAndre Hopkins will be on the field together for a game.

They placed tight end Zach Ertz on injured reserve, a move that had not yet happened. He already has season-ending knee surgery. He suffered the injury in Week 10 against the Los Angeles Rams.

They also placed left tackle D.J. Humphries on injured reserve. He missed three of the last four games with it and now will have to miss at least the next four.

The Cardinals now have four of their original five starting offensive linemen on injured reserve. Josh Jones will start at left tackle. Right tackle Kelvin Beachum is the only one left who has not gotten hurt.

Cardinals to have both star receivers together for 1st time in 2022

For the first time all season, the Cardinals will have both DeAndre Hopkins and Hollywood Brown on the field with their star quarterback, Kyler Murray.

When the Arizona Cardinals sent the 2022 No. 23 overall pick for Ravens star receiver Marquise Brown, the front office had high hopes for him and DeAndre Hopkins on the field following Hopkins’ six-game PED suspension.

While the move was certainly intended to be insurance for the suspension to Hopkins, the idea was to have one of the top receiving duos in the league in Week 7 when he returned.

On the last offensive play of the game in Week 6, Brown suffered a foot injury that has kept him out for over a month. It was days before Hopkins was set to make his return to the lineup.

While it’s all but too late to make a playoff push in 2022, the Cardinals will finally have their receiver duo on the field at the same time this Sunday against the Chargers.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury confirmed Brown will see action on the field, albeit on a snap count.

Beyond Brown being a much-needed receiving threat for the team, the concept was to add a player with elite speed next to Hopkins. It would draw coverage away from the intermediate passing attack, which is D-Hop’s specialty.

Should an opposing defense double Hopkins, Brown would be left one-on-one and become a big-play threat. On the contrary, defenses playing back to eliminate the threat of a deep passing touchdown for Brown would leave Hopkins open in the middle of the field.

Perhaps the Cardinals can show enough offensively to provide some optimism for 2023. It will certainly help their chances of having both star receivers on the field.

Cardinals vs. Chargers ultimate Week 12 preview

The 5-5 Los Angeles Chargers will be taking on the 4-7 Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium this Sunday.

Sitting at 4-7, there isn’t much hope for the Arizona Cardinals making the postseason. There are already rumors of Sean Payton eyeing the Cardinals’ potential job opening, which is telling about this season, given it’s only November.

They face the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday afternoon at State Farm Stadium.

The Chargers are 5-5 and find themselves in a must-win game of their own. There is still room for them to squeeze into the AFC wild card race with a win, especially considering their impressive performance against the Chiefs last week.

While not mathematically eliminated, the Cardinals would begin to trend that way with another loss on Sunday. Let’s dive into this one.
