Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown is officially questionable to play on Sunday against the Denver Broncos. He had an illness that kept him out on Thursday’s practice and had him limited in Friday’s final practice of the week.

However, he is expected to be a  go for the Cardinals as they face the Broncos on the road Sunday afternoon.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Brown is expected to play.

Arizona is already without tight end Zach Ertz and quarterback Kyler Murray to season-ending knee injuries. Starting offensive linemen D.J. Humphries, Justin Pugh and Rodney Hudson all are on injured reserve, with only Hudson with a possibility of coming back before the end of the season.

Brown has only played in eight games this season. He missed five on injured reserve with a broken foot. He has 53 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Russell Wilson passes concussion protocol but won’t start vs. Cardinals

The Broncos decided organizationally to give Wilson another week to recover. It will be Colt McCoy vs. Brett Rypien this weekend.

This weekend, when the Arizona Cardinals take on the Denver Broncos on the road, it will not be the promised matchup between quarterbacks Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson.

Instead, it will be Colt McCoy for the Cardinals going up against Brett Rypien for the Broncos.

Murray is out for the season after tearing his ACL in Monday night’s game against the New England Patriots.

Wilson suffered a concussion in Denver’s 34-28 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

Wilson successfully cleared concussion protocols and was a full participant in Denver’s Friday practice, but he has been ruled out of the game on the final injury report.

He did not get a full week of practice reps, having sat out Wednesday and being only limited on Thursday.

It was a team decision to rule him out.

“As an organization, we’ve decided to give him another week,” Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett told reporters Friday.

It will be the first time Wilson has missed a start against the Cardinals. As a member of the Seattle Seahawks, he started against Arizona 20 times in 10 seasons, going 11-8-1 against them.

DL Zach Allen has hand surgery; return uncertain

Allen injured his hand in the Cardinals’ 27-13 loss to the Patriots.

The Arizona Cardinals placed quarterback Kyler Murray and receiver Rondale Moore on injured reserve, meaning that they will not play again during the regular season.

Defensive linebacker Zach Allen’s season might be done.

He sustained a hand injury Monday night in the team’s 27-13 loss to the New England Patriots. Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Wednesday that Allen had surgery that day.

He was unsure if he would be out the rest of the season or not.

Before the injury, Allen had a career-high 5.5 sacks to go along with 47 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 19 quarterback hits and 8 pass breakups.

He will be a free agent after the season.

OL Will Hernandez designated to return from IR

Hernandez, Arizona’s starting right guard, missed five weeks and four games with a strained pectoral.

The Arizona Cardinals could be getting a starting offensive lineman back this week. Starting right guard Will Hernandez, on injured reserve for the last five weeks with a strained pec, was designated to return from injured reserve, allowing him to return to practice.

The team has 21 days to reinstate him to the active roster or he reverts to IR for the rest of the season.

Hernandez missed four games and could possibly return to the lineup this weekend when the Cardinals face the Denver Broncos on the road this weekend.

Hernandez was playing quite well this season before he was injured. His return would be big for quarterback Colt McCoy, who was sacked six times in the Cardinals’ Monday night loss to the New England Patriots.
