KNOXVILLE — The Lady Vols basketball team will not be making its scheduled trip to Cancun, Mexico, this season.
Tennessee is scheduled to play in the Cancun Challenge in late 2020. The tournament will proceed as planned, however, it will be played a little closer to home for the Lady Vols, and in the United States.
Triple Crown Sports, which organizes the event, announced the tournament will be held at Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida, over Thanksgiving week.
The tournament was moved due to safety precautions as the world continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tennessee has yet to release its 2020-21 schedule, but the Lady Vols are a part of the tournament field.
