All of this week’s cancelled college football games

Here is a complete list of every college football game that was canceled for this Saturday.

In the ever-changing world of college football 2020, the weekly schedule has been adjusted and redone time and time again.

After an exciting Friday of games, we get set for a full slate of Saturday games on Thanksgiving weekend.

Except for full-slate means something a bit different this year as we’ve got a good number more cancellations in college football this week due to COVID-19.

Here is a full list of Saturday’s games that have been either cancelled or postponed:

Colorado State at Air Force (Thursday)
Southern Miss at UAB (Friday)
San Diego State at Fresno State (Friday)
No. 4 Ohio State at Illinois
No. 7 Cincinnati at Temple
No. 11 Oklahoma at West Virginia
Minnesota at No. 16 Wisconsin
No. 25 Tulsa at Houston
Louisiana Tech at Florida International
Florida Atlantic at Middle Tennessee

ACC the latest victim of postponement due to COVID-19

The SEC has been hit very hard by cancellations of this weekend’s college football games but Thursday saw the ACC join that unfortunate list.

The list of games that have been cancelled or postponed for this weekend’s college football schedule is substantial.

No. 1 Alabama’s trip to LSU was postponed earlier this week as was No. 3 Ohio State’s game at Maryland and No. 5 Texas A&M traveling to Tennessee.

There were plenty of others as well including No. 12 Georgia no longer heading to Missouri this weekend or No. 24 Auburn taking on Mississippi State.

Four other games in Group of Five conferences had also been canceled or postponed but on Thursday the ACC joined the unfortunate club as Pittsburgh’s game at Georgia Tech has been postponed until December 12.

Previously scheduled as the weekend to possibly hold the ACC Championship Game, December 12 will now see three regular season conference games:

No. 2 Notre Dame at Wake Forest
Virginia at Virginia Tech
Pittsburgh at Georgia Tech

The ACC Championship Game has officially been scheduled for December 19 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

West Virginia President Pushes for College Football this Fall

West Virginia president Gordon Gee spoke about college football being played in 2020 and is willing to suit up to make sure it happens

Do you remember the name Gordon Gee?

Years ago while the president at Ohio State, Gee was pressured away from his post for making slanderous comments about Catholics, Notre Dame and the Polish.

Gee is drawing the headlines again, but at least this time it’s not another act of bigotry.  No, now working as the president at West Virginia University, Gee is offering to suit up in order to make sure college football is played this fall.

“We are going to play football in the fall, I really do believe that,”  Gee said to WOWK-TV.  “Even if I have to suit up!”

For the record, Gee is 76 years old.  He went on to say that they’ll play football, based on it being safe and healthy for fans and student-athletes.

“But I do believe that we will play football” Gee added.

Alright, sign me up for college football being played this fall and Gee suiting up.

And then please get Jack Swarbrick to get West Virginia on the schedule immediately.
