Analyzing Monday’s Canada vs. Australia odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In a Group B matchup, Canada (1-0-1 / W-L-D) and Australia (1-1-0) meet Monday in the 2023 Women’s World Cup at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium in Australia. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 a.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Canada vs. Australia odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Canada is tied atop the Group B table with Nigeria at 4 points. It played a scoreless draw against Nigeria in the opening match, and it racked up a 2-1 win over the Republic of Ireland Wednesday. A win gets Canada through to the Round of 16, while it can also draw and receive help to get through.

Australia has 3 points, and is very much alive for the Round of 16. It needs a win, however, and it plays in Melbourne in front of its throng of supporting fans. The Matildas topped Ireland 1-0 in the opening match, and they were stunned 3-2 by Nigeria Thursday.

The good news for Australia is that captain Sam Kerr (calf) appears to be fit after missing the 1st 2 games due to a calf injury.

Canada vs. Australia picks and predictions

Prediction

Australia 1, Canada 1

Moneyline (ML)

Canada (+220) has the opportunity to go through, but Australia (+120) is obviously not going to make it easy for them. The Matildas are on their home pitch and they’ll be desperate trying to get the win, and get through to the next round.

DRAW (+225) is the best play on the board, and you can multiply your initial wager by more than 2 times in the process.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 GOALS (-155) is a little on the expensive side, but it’s a good play. Canada won’t be pressing too much, as it simply needs a draw to get through. Australia might have a little more desperation on the offensive end, especially if it finds itself behind late. But Under is the way to go, as goals should be at a premium in this all-important clash.
