4-star 2022 ATH C.J. Washington commits to Georgia

4-star 2022 ATH C.J. Washington has officially made his commitment to Georgia football.

4-star 2022 athlete C.J. Washington has officially committed to the G.

Washington is the No. 10 football recruit in the 2022 class out of the state of Georgia and is also rated as the No. 5 inside linebacker in the country.

Washington, who stands at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, is from Cedartown, GA and attends former Dawgs running back Nick Chubb’s alma mater of Cedartown High School.  He also reps Chubb’s #27 jersey.  The rising junior has been turning heads left and right for his physical play, picking up notable offers from Georgia, Tennessee, LSU and Florida.

This is the second commit Georgia has picked up for the 2022 class, the first being 4-star cornerback Marquis Groves-Killebrew.

As a sophomore, Washington bench pressed 365 pounds, squatted 515 pounds and power cleaned 330 pounds.  Those numbers are most likely outdated by now which is a scary thought, considering Washington is entering the 11th grade.

The Cedartown standout had a great performance at the Georgia Elite Classic this past December, causing many quarterback hurries and tackles.

Glenn Schumann, Kirby Smart and Dan Lanning got a good one here, continuing to lock up the top recruiting classes in the country.

C.J. is from Cedartown, GA where he attends former Georgia running back and now Cleveland Browns star Nick Chubb’s alma mater of Cedartown High School.  He also wears Chubb’s college number 27.

Washington looks up to and admires Chubb, but also wants to make a name for himself.

“It is cool to see him do what he has done, to start here at Cedartown, go to Georgia and then go to the NFL, but I am going to Georgia to start my own legacy and I want to be better than him,” he added in regards to comparisons with Chubb.

Washington is a nightmare for offensive linemen with his combination of size, speed, power and overall athleticism.  He received offers from both Tennessee and Georgia after his impressive performance at the Georgia Elite Classic this past December.
