The 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational begins on Thursday at Bay Hill Club and Lounge.

Five of the top 10 golfers in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings are in the field this week at the annual Orlando event.

Tiger Woods, an eight-time champion at Bay Hill, will not play, marking the third-straight PGA Tour event the 15-time major winner has missed. Woods, who last competed at the Genesis Invitational, is struggling with back stiffness.

Reigning champion Francesco Molinari returns to Bay Hill in hopes of defending his 2019 title against top-ranked players including World No. 1 Rory McIlroy, who won the 2018 Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Honda Classic field, by the rankings

We break down the Honda Classic field by Golfweek/Sagarins and OWGR rankings.

[jwplayer 7CJ19DjT-9JtFt04J]

This week’s Honda Classic, the 21st event of the 2019-20 PGA Tour season, starts the beginning of a series of East Coast stops. While the field features plenty of top players – Brooks Koepka, Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose among them – the biggest story might be the absence of nearby residents and top-10 players. That list includes Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Cantlay and Tiger Woods.

Regardless, there’s still plenty of top talent in the field, and we’ve broken it down according to two rankings.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am field, by the rankings

We break down the field of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am by Golfweek/Sagarins and OWGR rankings.

The PGA Tour returns to California for the 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am as Phil Mickleson aims to defend his title.

Below is a field list for the event, with each player’s Golfweek/Sagarin Ranking and Official World Golf Ranking indicated beside his name.

Jeff Sagarin’s rating system is based on a mathematical formula that uses a player’s won-lost-tied record against other players when they play on the same course on the same day, and the stroke differential between those players, then links all players to one another based on common opponents. The ratings give an indication of who is playing well over the past 52 weeks.
