UNC football commit Bryce Baker moves into top 100 of recruiting rankings

Following a big showing in the Elite 11, UNC football quarterback commit Bryce Baker has climbed the recruiting rankings.

North Carolina’s 2025 football recruiting class is off to a solid start with over six months until signing day. As Mack Brown and his staff continue to build this class, one prospect continues to raise his stock.

Quarterback Bryce Baker committed to UNC in the Summer of 2023 and since then, he’s climbed the recruiting rankings. The four-star quarterback is the future of the program at the position and after an impressive showing at the Elite 11 camp, he’s now moving up the recruiting rankings.

On3 has made an update to its On300 recruiting rankings for the 2025 cycle and climbing into the top 100 is Baker. The site ranked Baker No. 99 overall, holding his four-star ranking on the site. Here is what On3 had to say about Baker and his ranking:

North Carolina commit Bryce Baker (No. 99) makes a big move inside the top 100. Baker turned in a consistent showing at the Elite 11 Finals, showing a strong arm. Baker, who is a 1,000 point scorer in high school basketball, is a strong athlete at the position and plays with a creative playmaking style.

North Carolina has 12 commitments in the 2025 recruiting class which is still a top 50 class. They do have some big targets still left on their recruiting board and if players like Baker and others continue to get better, their class ranking should improve as well.

Another day, another future Tar Heel making moves with 4-star quarterback [autotag]Bryce Baker[/autotag] earning an invite to Elite 11 finals.

Baker is a part of the 2025 class representing East Forsyth High School, who committed to the UNC football program last June. The Elite 11 has welcomed the best High School quarterbacks around the nation since 1999, allowing young players to showcase their talents among their peers.

Many current NFL QBs have gone through the program including key players like Joe Burrow, Trevor Lawrence, Caleb Williams, Jalen Hurts, and former Tar Heel Sam Howell.

Baker had a phenomenal junior campaign at East Forsyth, leading the high school to a 10-2 record. Baker finished the season with 3,082 passing yards with a completion rate of (66.6%), 39 touchdowns, and three interceptions. Much like recent UNC QBs, Baker is mobile, picking up 233 rushing yards and three touchdowns with his feet.

The Elite 11 will take place this summer in Los Angeles, as the program celebrates its 25th year. The event will last three days, giving prospects a plethora of opportunities to showcase the talents they are bringing to their respective schools.

Class of 2025 UNC football commit named MVP at weekend football camp

Bryce Baker is yet another exciting quarterback prospect who’ll play football for the North Carolina Tar Heels. He arrives before the 2025 campaign.

We’re less than a week out from UNC’s annual Spring Football game, so you can imagine the anticipation is building.

Fans who can make the trip will get a firsthand look at the 2024 roster, with the quarterback battle between Conner Harrell and Max Johnson expected to be amongst the most followed. New transfers will get their first taste at game action in a North Carolina uniform, while we’re bound to see freshman and other first-timers make cases for starting spots.

As is always the case in sports, it’s never too early to look ahead in the future. In this case, we’re talking about the 2025 roster.

While either Harrell or Johnson will sling the football this year, there’s another exciting quarterback prospect coming to Chapel Hill in two seasons.

Bryce Baker, the in-state, 4-star quarterback from East Forsyth (Kernersville, NC) High School, was named Sunday’s Quarterback MVP at the Charlotte, NC Rivals Camp.

If you’re not familiar with Rivals Camp, it’s the top high school football camp series in the country.

Baker shined in his first season as a starting quarterback for the East Forsyth Eagles last year, throwing for 3,082 yards and 39 touchdowns with just three interceptions. He’s not too shabby of a runner either, collecting 233 rushing yards and three more scores.

As he prepares for his final high school season in the fall, Baker hopes to lead East Forsyth to its first 4A NCHSAA State Championship since 2019.
