Browns: Both Denzel Ward, Greg Newsome II leave, return vs. Steelers

both have returned.

The Cleveland Browns lost two of their starting cornerbacks in the third quarter during the primetime game against the Steelers. Greg Newsome II and Denzel Ward exited the game within plays of each other. The Browns lost Nick Chubb for the season during the first half. The evening has gone extremely poorly for the squad since Chubb’s injury.

Denzel Ward went into the locker room according to broadcast reports. It’s unclear what happened to Denzel, but it’s never a good sign when a player leaves the field and heads to the medical room.

Greg Newsome II suffered a shoulder injury during the primetime game against the Steelers. The young corner trapped his arm underneath the Steelers’ wide receiver.

The team will need to leave Pittsburgh with a win and their health.

Both players returned to the game for the Browns on the following possession as the team gets at least a bit of good news.

Browns: DE Za’Darius Smith leaves game, but returns vs. Steelers

The Browns do not need anymore injuries…

If the night couldn’t get any worse for the Cleveland Browns Za’Darius Smith went down during the third quarter. This comes after running back Nick Chubb was carted off with a serious knee injury. He was later seen on the sideline wearing his helmet as he returned to the game for the Browns. The Browns lost Nick Chubb to a season-ending knee injury earlier in the evening.

Smith was the marquee addition this off-season. He was Myles Garrett’s partner in crime against the Bengals, giving their offensive lineman fits last week. The Browns cannot lose more starters on their team. The NFL is a game of attrition and the Browns are starting to lose quickly. Hopefully, Za’Darius can recover from his injury quickly.

Luckily for the Browns, they also have Ogbo Okoronkwo in their stable of stallions. So if Smith needs to sit out an additional series or two later in this one, he can step in for him.

Browns RB Nick Chubb carted off vs. Steelers with deflating knee injury

welp…

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb took a violent hit to the knee in Monday Night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers that could leave him sidelined for the rest of the season. I’m not sure what happened, but I know the season’s aspirations are much further out of reach than before tonight.

The hit was so brutal that the broadcast wouldn’t replay it, but the Pittsburgh crowd groaned when they saw the replay on their jumbotron. The hit also left Minkah Fitzpatrick lying on the field.

It’s impossible to put into words what this injury means for Nick Chubb. Nick Chubb means so much to this team, the sport, and the community. The 27-year-old running back had a horrific knee injury during his sophomore season at Georgia that he overcame.

Hopefully, this time is no different. He will certainly have everyone’s support in his recovery. He has already been ruled out for the rest of this game.

Siaki Ika exits early, but returns in 4th quarter vs. Chiefs

Rookie Siaki Ika exited Cleveland Browns preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs with an injury, but returned.

Defensive tackle Siaki Ika left the preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs at the start of the fourth quarter. The third-round defensive tackle was helped off the field by the medical staff. The rookie is expected to play a major role in the revamping of one of the worst defensive tackle rooms in NFL history for the Cleveland Browns.

Siaki Ika has had a volatile preseason as he adapts to the NFL. The rookie had played well during the game against the Chiefs before his injury. It’s important for the Browns that Siaki Ika misses minimal time this season.

He returned to this game against the Chiefs.

Caleb Biggers exits game vs. Chiefs with cramps

Caleb Biggers exits preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs with an injury.

Cornerback Caleb Biggers exited the preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs at the end of the third quarter for the Cleveland Browns. The undrafted free agent walked off the field with the medical staff under his own power.  Biggers scored a pick six earlier in the game.

The big play increased the Browns’ lead over the Chiefs. The young cornerback from Boise State has had an impressive preseason. It is doubtful that Biggers makes the 53-man roster, but the undrafted free agent could be a valuable practice squad member this year.

Injury Alert: Tony Fields II exits game vs. Chiefs with potential concussion

Browns LB Tony Fields II exits preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs for a concussion evaluation.

Linebacker Tony Fields II exited the preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs at the end of the second quarter. The veteran linebacker is being evaluated for a concussion. Fields II was seen walking from the medical tent into the locker room for the Cleveland Browns.

Fields II is entering his third season with the Browns. After being drafted in the fifth round in 2021, the young player has grown into a solid contributor on defense and special teams. Fields II has received rave reviews from coaches so far during the offseason. A sign that his role on the team could expand. It is highly doubtful that this injury will impact Tony Fields II’s roster status. Hopefully, the third-year linebacker will pass the concussion protocol.

Injury Alert: Jordan Kunaszyk leaves game with knee injury vs. Chiefs

Jordan Kunasyk leaves preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a knee injury.

Linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk exited the preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs with a knee injury during the first quarter. The veteran linebacker walked off the field with help from the medical staff. Kunaszyk is entering his second season with the Cleveland Browns and is fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster.

The linebacker started two games last season and was special-teams ace. Jordan has been in an intense battle for the final roster spots in the linebacker room. He will not return in this game.

S Bubba Bolden leaves game with hamstring injury vs. Commanders

Browns safety Bubba Bolden leaves the preseason game against the Washington Commanders with a hamstring injury.

Cleveland Browns safety Bubba Bolden has been ruled out with a hamstring injury against the Washington Commanders. The second-year free agent from the University of Miami was impressive in his Browns’ debut last week against the New York Jets.

The safety secured an interception to seal the victory. Bolden joins a growing list of Browns players including, Elijah Moore, Jacob Philips, and A.J. Green who exited Friday night’s game early with minor injuries.

Hopefully, Bolden is able to remain healthy for the rest of the preseason. The safety is in a hard battle to make the team’s initial roster. It would be unfortunate to see an injury derail his season.

CB Thomas Graham Jr. leaves game with ankle injury

Thomas Graham Jr. leaves Browns-Jets game due to ankle injury.

Cleveland Browns cornerback Thomas Graham Jr. suffered an ankle injury during the Thursday night Pro Football Hall of Fame Game against the New York Jets. He will not return. He becomes the second player to leave the game.

The third-year cornerback had a rough game, giving up a 57-yard pass to Malik Taylor and Zach Wilson in the first quarter. The long completion would set up a field goal to expand the Jets’ lead to six points. Thomas Graham Jr. is one of the many players fighting to make the team. Graham Jr. played in seven games for the Browns during the 2022 season, serving primarily as a special teams player. Hopefully, the injury isn’t too debilitating for the young defender.

WR Daylen Baldwin ruled out with hamstring injury

Daylen Baldwin left the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game with a hamstring injury.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Daylen Baldwin suffered a hamstring injury during the second quarter. The second-year wide receiver has been ruled out for the rest of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game against the New York Jets.

Baldwin was seen walking into the injury tent under his own power, as reported by Mary Kay Cabot. The second-year wide receiver had a shaky game, dropping a deep pass in the first quarter. Baldwin is battling for a roster spot this season and a significant injury could derail his chances to make the team. Baldwin played in one game last year catching two passes for twenty-five yards in a victory over Baltimore.
