Injury Alert: Tony Fields II exits game vs. Chiefs with potential concussion

Browns LB Tony Fields II exits preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs for a concussion evaluation.

Linebacker Tony Fields II exited the preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs at the end of the second quarter. The veteran linebacker is being evaluated for a concussion. Fields II was seen walking from the medical tent into the locker room for the Cleveland Browns.

Fields II is entering his third season with the Browns. After being drafted in the fifth round in 2021, the young player has grown into a solid contributor on defense and special teams. Fields II has received rave reviews from coaches so far during the offseason. A sign that his role on the team could expand. It is highly doubtful that this injury will impact Tony Fields II’s roster status. Hopefully, the third-year linebacker will pass the concussion protocol.

S Bubba Bolden leaves game with hamstring injury vs. Commanders

Browns safety Bubba Bolden leaves the preseason game against the Washington Commanders with a hamstring injury.

Cleveland Browns safety Bubba Bolden has been ruled out with a hamstring injury against the Washington Commanders. The second-year free agent from the University of Miami was impressive in his Browns’ debut last week against the New York Jets.

The safety secured an interception to seal the victory. Bolden joins a growing list of Browns players including, Elijah Moore, Jacob Philips, and A.J. Green who exited Friday night’s game early with minor injuries.

Hopefully, Bolden is able to remain healthy for the rest of the preseason. The safety is in a hard battle to make the team’s initial roster. It would be unfortunate to see an injury derail his season.

CB Thomas Graham Jr. leaves game with ankle injury

Thomas Graham Jr. leaves Browns-Jets game due to ankle injury.

Cleveland Browns cornerback Thomas Graham Jr. suffered an ankle injury during the Thursday night Pro Football Hall of Fame Game against the New York Jets. He will not return. He becomes the second player to leave the game.

The third-year cornerback had a rough game, giving up a 57-yard pass to Malik Taylor and Zach Wilson in the first quarter. The long completion would set up a field goal to expand the Jets’ lead to six points. Thomas Graham Jr. is one of the many players fighting to make the team. Graham Jr. played in seven games for the Browns during the 2022 season, serving primarily as a special teams player. Hopefully, the injury isn’t too debilitating for the young defender.

Browns Week 18 injury report: Jadeveon Clowney did not practice Thursday

After being limited on Wednesday, Browns DE Jadeveon Clowney missed practice Thursday with shoulder and knee injuries.

The Cleveland Browns released their second injury report ahead of Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals, where there was an update on one prominent defensive star.

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney did not practice Thursday with shoulder and knee injuries. Clowney was a limited participant during Wednesday’s practice, but he appears to have suffered a setback.

There were three other players who didn’t practice Thursday, including tight end David Njoku (shoulder), cornerback Denzel Ward (groin) and defensive tackle Malik McDowell (neck).

Defensive tackle Malik Jackson was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday, which puts his chances of playing in the finale against the Bengals in doubt.

Elsewhere, running backs Nick Chubb (chest/ribs) and Kareem Hunt (ankle) remained limited on Thursday.

Myles Garrett will have MRI on injured knee on Monday

Garrett said he “took a shot” early in the loss to the Raiders

The bad news just keeps coming from the Cleveland Browns and the 16-6 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Defensive end Myles Garrett will undergo an MRI on his injured knee on Monday after being limited throughout Sunday’s game.

Garrett indicated after the game he “took a shot” to the knee early on and it bothered him the rest of the day. Garrett had little visible impact on the game. His streak of six consecutive games with a sack ended.

After the game, Garrett said he will play in Week 10 as long as he can run, though he did offer the caveat that it is the medical staff’s decision. The Browns have a bye in Week 9.

Wyatt Teller leaves with calf injury, questionable to return

Chris Hubbard took over at right guard

The Cleveland Browns suffered a tough injury in the first half of Sunday’s game at FirstEnergy Stadium against the Indianapolis Colts. Standout right guard Wyatt Teller left the game with a calf injury.

Initially listed as probable to return, the Browns downgraded Teller to questionable after another drive with Teller on the sideline. Chris Hubbard took over as the right guard on the Browns two TD drives in the second quarter.

Teller has been a tremendous success story in the first month of the season. He is the NFL’s highest-graded offensive player at any position by Pro Football Focus through Week 4.

Report: Jedrick Wills X-rays negative on his injured leg, will have MRI

If it’s just a bone bruise, Wills should be able to play on Thursday

Jedrick Wills left his first start as the Cleveland Browns left tackle early. Wills limped off the field in the second half of the Browns’ dreadful 38-6 loss in Baltimore with an injured leg.

Wills was taken to get X-rays inside the stadium. Reports from numerous sources, including Pro Football Talk, indicate the X-ray was negative for any fracture. Wills is set to get an MRI on the injured knee on Monday back at the Browns training facility in Berea.

Several reports speculate that Wills suffered a bone bruise. If so, expect the first-round rookie from Alabama to be ready to play — albeit in pain — on Thursday night when the Browns host the rival Cincinnati Bengals.

Wills looked good in his debut, part of an upgraded offensive line that played much better than the final score would indicate.
