The 76ers made a franchise playoff record of 21 three-pointers in the series-opening victory. G James Harden converted 7 three-pointers himself as he finished with 23 points and 13 assists.

Nets at 76ers Game 2 picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 117, Nets 109

Moneyline

AVOID.

Unless you’re confident in the Nets securing the victory in Game 2, wagering on the money line in this game isn’t the smartest idea.

Against the spread

NETS +10.5 (-115) is how I’d bet on the spread despite Brooklyn’s struggles in Game 1. It’s tough to expect the 76ers to make 20 or more 3-pointers again, so this game should be closer than Game 1.

Three out of the 5 meetings between the Nets and the 76ers this season have been decided by 9 or fewer points.

Over/Under

BET OVER 213.5 (-115).

The total has been lowered after Game 1 despite the teams clearing the Over by 7 points on Saturday. Even though the 76ers may not hit 20-plus three-pointers, C Joel Embiid only produced 26 points in Game 1, which is lower than his season average of 33.1 points per game.

The 76ers are 4-0 to the Over in their last 4 games overall and the Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.

Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers Game 1 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers Game 1 odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Brooklyn Nets (45-37) will begin a best-of-7 series against the Philadelphia 76ers (54-28) in the 1st round of the NBA playoffs Saturday at Wells Fargo Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Nets vs. 76ers odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Nets concluded the regular season as the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference despite dealing F Kevin Durant and G Kyrie Irving away at the trade deadline. Brooklyn registered a 6-3 record in its final 9 games of the regular season.

The 76ers finished as the No. 3 seed in the East with C Joel Embiid and G James Harden leading the way. Embiid led the NBA with 33.1 points per game (PPG) and is a candidate to win his 1st NBA MVP award. Harden scored 21.0 PPG and led the NBA with 10.7 assists per game.

The Nets and the 76ers met 4 times during the season with Philadelphia winning all 4. Three of the matchups were decided by 9 points or fewer.

Nets at 76ers picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 116, Nets 106

Moneyline

AVOID.

The 76ers are heavily favored to win the 1st game of the series and the entire series, but taking them straight up Saturday isn’t worth the risk at the current odds (-350).

Against the spread

PHILADELPHIA -8.5 (-110) is the lean in this 1st-round matchup with the 76ers looking to set the tone at home. Brooklyn won’t have an answer for Embiid, and Philadelphia will need to make quick work of the Nets to prepare for its next postseason opponent.

Plus, the 76ers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games playing on 3 or more days of rest.

Over/Under

We typically see teams slow the game down in the playoffs, but I’ll side with OVER 214.5 (-110) with this being such a low total. Embiid should score plenty of points himself and G/F Mikal Bridges has been a reliable scorer for the Nets since arriving via the Durant trade.

The Nets and the 76ers were both top 15 in offensive rating in the final 15 games of the season.

Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Brooklyn Nets (29-17) visit the City of Brotherly Love and the Philadelphia 76ers (30-16) Wednesday. Tip-off from Wells Fargo Center is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Nets vs. 76ers odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Nets have won 2 straight after Sunday’s 120-116 victory over the Golden State Warriors as 7.5-point road underdogs. Brooklyn has had a mediocre month of basketball, currently sitting at 5-5 in January. With superstar F Kevin Durant out, it has been G Kyrie Irving leading the way, averaging just under 39 points per game in their last 3 games.

Philadelphia is on a 5-game win streak and has won 10 of its last 12 games. The 76ers beat a hot Sacramento Kings team 129-127 on Saturday as 4.5-point road underdogs. C Joel Embiid has been the 76ers’ leading scorer in 6 of the last 12 games. However, it was G Tyrese Maxey‘s who shned with Embiid out, scoring 32 points against the Kings.

The 76ers won the 1st meeting this season 115-106 at home on Nov. 22 as 7.5-point underdogs while the Over 217.5 cashed.

Nets at 76ers picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 107, Nets 106

Moneyline

AVOID.

This is a winnable game for both teams, and the uncertainty regarding the health of Embiid really makes this a tough call, even if the line indicates that Vegas believes Embiid will play.

Against the spread

LEAN NETS +5.5 (-108).

The favorite is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these 2 teams, but that will not be the case here. Embiid leads Philadelphia in points, rebounds and assists, but even if he plays it will be the defense and rebounding ability for Brooklyn that will keep this game close, if not winnable. Brooklyn has the  guards to slow down both Maxey and G James Harden and the height and length to force turnovers and to dominate the glass.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 228.5 (-115).

The Under has been the play recently for the Nets, but the Over has been the more trend pick for the 76ers. With Durant out and Embiid likely unavailable, both teams will be missing scoring. The under is 7-1-1 in Brooklyn’s last 9 games and is 3-0-1 following a Brooklyn win.

Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Brooklyn Nets (8-9) visit the Philadelphia 76ers (8-8) in a battle of who many thought would be 2 favorites to win the Eastern Conference in this Tuesday matchup. Tip-off from Wells Fargo Center is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Nets vs. 76ers odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Nets enter on a 2-game win streak, recently defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 127-115 as 7.5-point home favorites Sunday. F Kevin Durant’s 26 points and G Ben Simmons’ 22 points helped the Nets secure the W. The Nets held the Grizzlies to 32.4% (12 of  37) shooting from beyond the arc.

The 76ers are coming off a tough 112-109 home loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves Saturday that ended a 3-game win streak. However, they covered the spread as 3.5-point underdogs for a 4th consecutive cover. C Joel Embiid finished with a game-high 32 points and G Shake Milton added 27 to lead five 76ers in double figures, but it was the lack of bench production that did them in. Philly’s reserves were outscored 37-20.

Nets at 76ers picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 108, 76ers 92

Moneyline

AVOID.

The Nets (-310) should win this one, but the moneyline is not worth the risk. The line is mostly due to injuries to the 76ers squad, and while I do agree with the line, I wouldn’t advise anyone to bet on it.

Against the spread

LEAN NETS -7.5 (-115).

The shorthanded 76ers will have a hard time competing with the scoring of the Nets. The Nets have looked underwhelming this season and that has a lot to do with some off-court team issues, but they should be able to pick up an easy win in this one. Expect Simmons to show out in his return to Philly and, now that he’s finally hitting his stride, this team can be very dangerous heading forward.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 216.5 (-105).

Neither of these teams have a particularly great offense, and with the 76ers missing their best players, this is easily the BEST BET.

The 76ers are missing all 3 of their best players in Embiid, Harden and Maxey and while none of them are great defenders, they fit into their defensive system very well. The 76ers will have a hard time finding points and with the Nets possibly missing their best shooter in Watanabe and best big man in Claxton, they will be shorthanded as well. Neither team will see the offensive efficiency they would like and with 2 teams who have been mediocre, at best, points will be hard to come by.

Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Brooklyn Nets (33-33) wrap up a three-game road trip Thursday against the Philadelphia 76ers (40-24). Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. at Wells Fargo Center. Below, we look at the Nets vs. 76ers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The two sides face each other for the first time since the big February trade built around swapping guards Ben Simmons and James Harden. The Nets have struggled and gone 4-8 since the trade and have fallen all the way to .500.

Brooklyn is eighth in the Eastern Conference and is coming off a 132-121 win over the Charlotte Hornets Tuesday. G Kyrie Irving dropped 50 points in the victory.

The 76ers are in third place in the East, just 2.5 games behind the conference-leading Miami Heat. They won 121-106 at home against the Chicago Bulls Monday and have won six of their last seven games and eight of their last 10.

Nets at 76ers odds, lines, picks and predictions

76ers 121, Nets 112

Money line

The Nets are 2-1 in three games against the 76ers this season, including 1-0 at Wells Fargo Center. The 76ers are 19-13 at home on the year and the Nets are 20-15 on the road.

Brooklyn has won three of its last five road contests. The 76ers have won five of their last six games at home.

The 76ers have scored at least 120 points in six of their last seven games. The Nets have lost 11 of the last 13 games they have allowed an opponent to score 120 or more.

It is reaching the price point where you might want to pass, except including a money line bet in a parlay, but take 76ERS (-200).

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

All three matchups between the two teams were decided by at least 5 points. The 76ers’ one win was by 8 points in Brooklyn Dec. 30.

The 76ers are 32-31-1 ATS overall but 13-19 ATS at home. However, eight of their last nine wins have come by at least 5 points.

The Nets are 19-15-1 ATS on the road this season and 5-5 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Take the 76ERS -4.5 (-120).

Over/Under

Philly lost 99-82 to the Miami Heat Sunday, but they have scored 120 or more in the other seven of their last eight games.

The Nets have allowed an average of 121.4 points per game over their last eight outings and have put up at least 110 points in the last six games Irving has played.

Take OVER 229.5 (-112).

Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Friday’s Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Brooklyn Nets (0-1) travel to the “City of Brotherly Love” Friday for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip-off with the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center. Below, we look at the Nets vs. 76ers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions, and bets.

Brooklyn lost in the NBA’s season opener 127-104 Thursday at the Milwaukee Bucks as 1.5-point road underdogs. The Nets got boat raced despite outshooting the Bucks 53.1-37.8 percent from three-point land and outscoring them 22-2 in points off of turnovers.

Philly rolled a Zion Williamson-less New Orleans Pelicans 117-97 Wednesday as 3.5-point road favorites. The Sixers outshot the Pelicans from everywhere on the floor and had four players score at least 20 points.

The 76ers won two of three regular-season meetings with the Nets last year but only covered the spread once and Kevin Durant didn’t play in any of those games.

Nets at 76ers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 119, Nets 113

Money line

Slight “LEAN” to the 76ERS (+122) because there’s more value in Philly plus the points than the money line.

However, Joel Embiid dominated Brooklyn last season and the Nets didn’t bring in any defensive bigs this offseason. Embiid averaged 30.7 points per game on .469/.400/.867 shooting with 11.7 rebounds per game in the three Nets-76ers games last year.

If Embiid has similar success Friday, and he should, then Philly’s three-point specialists should have some wide-open looks. Also, it feels like the Sixers are more in sync than the Nets.

Both teams are dealing with off-the-court issues but I get the sense that Philly is rallying in spite of the Simmons drama whereas Brooklyn is still trying to sort itself out without Kyrie.

Against the spread

BET 1 unit on the 76ers +3.5 (-115) based on the analysis above and because Philly has performed well in this spot over recent seasons.

For example, the Sixers are 6-0-1 ATS with a plus-8.1-point spread differential as a home underdog since the beginning of 2019. Also, Philly has the best home ATS record in the Association over that span.

Furthermore, Philly is one of the rowdiest sports cities in America and I’m expecting the Sixers fans to take out their frustration with Ben Simmons on the Nets Friday night.

Embiid will feed off the crowd and Philly’s home-court advantage will help the 76ers +3.5 (-115) cash.

Over/Under

PASS with a slight “lean” to the Over 225.5 (-110) because both teams have All-NBA-caliber talent and role players that can knock down open jumpers.

That said, we’re seeing heavy “reverse line movement” in the betting markets. According to Pregame.com, most of the action is on the Over but the total has been lowered from the 229.5-point opener to the current number.

I don’t have to figure out why sportsbooks are making the more popular side cheaper. Instead, I can just PASS ON THE TOTAL.

Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Brooklyn Nets (37-17) travel to the City of Brotherly Love Wednesday for a 7 p.m. ET game with the Atlantic Division rival Philadelphia 76ers (37-17) at Wells Fargo Center. Below, we analyze the Nets-76ers odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Nets have won three of four games and seven of their last nine while going 3-6 against the spread with the latest being a 127-97 beatdown of the Minnesota Timberwolves Tuesday.

Philly won three parts of a four-game road swing and went 3-1 against the spread entering Wednesday. All three wins were by double digits, including a 113-95 win over Dallas Mavericks Monday. The Sixers are 5-2 overall and 4-3 ATS over the last two weeks.

The home team won and covered each of the earlier two Nets-76ers games this season. Brooklyn’s 122-109 win over Philly Jan. 7, was before the Nets acquired G James Harden and All-Stars SF Kevin Durant and PG Kyrie Irving both missed the game.

In Philly’s 124-108 victory against Brooklyn in February, Harden was the only one of the Nets’ Big 3 who played.

Nets at 76ers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

76ers 117, Nets 113

Money line (ML)

PASS with a slight “lean” to the Nets (+230) since I’m betting Brooklyn plus the points here and often will sprinkle on an underdog’s money line when taking them to cover.

What’s holding me back is the obvious: Brooklyn could be without two of its Big 3 and this is a matchup between the two teams tied atop the Eastern Conference.

This game matters for bragging rights, possible playoff seeding, and/or who gets homecourt advantage throughout the postseason. Since the Sixers are much healthier, I’m going to stick to the spread.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

TAKE the NETS +7 (-110) for 1 unit.

The Nets get up for big games: Brooklyn is 12-4 and has the second-best points per 100 possessions differential and the fourth-best ATS margin against teams in the top-10 in net efficiency, according to CleaningTheGlass.com.

Also, the Nets are 9-3 ATS when spotted 1-7 points and 7-3 ATS vs. teams with a winning record.

With KD back in the fold and looking like his dominant self, there’s no way it’s plus-EV to bet against Brooklyn.

Over/Under (O/U)

Slight “LEAN” to the OVER 226.5 (-110) for a quarter-unit because both teams should have success on offense, but my hesitation is the current five-game Under streak the Sixers are on.

According to CleaningTheGlass.com, Philly takes the fourth-highest volume of mid-range field goals and Brooklyn is 26th in defensive field-goal percentage on mid-range attempts.

Also, the gravitational pull of KD’s skillset naturally will get spot-up shooters like SG Joe Harris wide-open looks and Brooklyn C Nicolas Claxton is making his first career start against the best center in the East.
