Former Tennessee pitcher Blade Tidwell is playing for the Brooklyn Cyclones.

Brooklyn competes in the South Atlantic League and is a High-A affiliate of the New York Mets.

Tidwell appeared in five games, starting five contests, for the Cyclones in June. He earned three wins, while recording 40 strikeouts and a 1.35 ERA.

Tidwell was selected by the Mets in the second round (No. 52 overall) of the 2022 MLB draft.

The former Vol made his professional debut Aug. 9, 2022 with the Mets minor league team in the Florida Complex League.

Tidwell (3-2) appeared in 13 games for the Vols in 2022. He recorded 51 strikeouts and a 3.00 ERA during the 2022 campaign.

Tidwell played at Loretto High School in Loretto, Tennessee.
