LeBron James shares how much he misses his family: ‘So damn much’

LeBron James shared a photo of all the people back home in Los Angeles who he misses after being in Orlando for nearly 2 months.

The challenges of being in the NBA Bubble, particularly the mental drain that the same routine of playing, practice, and testing every other day can cause, especially without the presence of family or even other loved ones, like pets. Lakers guard Danny Green put a voice to those concerns and earlier this week, so did Clippers guard Paul George.

On Saturday, as the NBA gets back to playing games, LeBron James joined in sharing how much he misses his family back at home, posting a collage photo of his three kids and his wife Savannah back in Los Angeles. The past week, where mental health has become even more of a concern, has likely intensified that feeling.

Family members of various teams are reportedly already in quarantine, with the NBA allowing a select group of guests for each player. It’s unclear if LeBron’s wife Savannah and the kids will be joining him. But with the school year close to starting, given how much LeBron and Savannah value education, even if it’s in a social distanced fashion, it would not be a shock if he doesn’t see them until the season ends rather than changing the schedules of his children even more than they already have to due to the pandemic.

Savannah James shares hilarious LeBron impersonation from son Bryce

Nobody does a better job of impersonating LeBron James than his son Bryce Maximus.

We always knew that LeBron James has a sense of humor, but now we also know the apple clearly doesn’t fall far from the tree. We haven’t heard a ton from LeBron James outside of his media availabilities and performance in scrimmages since he went to the bubble, but it’s the first time in months that James will be away from his wife and kids. But just in case they miss LeBron while he’s at the bubble, the greatest LeBron impersonator there isn’t too far away, LeBron’s son Bryce Maximus.

On Saturday night, Savannah James shared the pure greatness of their son Bryce’s impersonation of LeBron, which was so good his older brother Bronny could hardly hold it together in the video, while Savannah said she was “in literal tears.”

This is the first summer in quite some time that the James kids are not traveling around the country playing youth basketball, which is quite understandable given the pandemic, but Bryce has clearly had time to work on his LeBron impersonation and for that, we’re very thankful.

Bronny James named his top-five players in the NBA after his dad

On a live-stream playing NBA 2K, Bronny recently named his top-five players in the NBA excluding his father.

LeBron James has reigned atop the NBA as arguably the best player in the game for several years now and, remarkably after 17 seasons, the four-time MVP has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

James was averaging 25.7 points, 10.6 assists and 7.9 rebounds per game with the Los Angeles Lakers prior to the season suspension on March 11. He led the NBA in assists and was 13th in scoring while many believe he was in the conversation for the MVP award.

By many metrics, James still remains a top-five player in the NBA. Of course, his eldest son, Bronny, certainly believes he is in a class of his own. Bronny recently named his top-five players in the NBA excluding his father while on a live-stream playing NBA 2K.

Top-five besides my dad? Giannis, James Harden, Dame, A.D. and K.D. No order, no order.

Bronny later commented on the post by House of Highlights and added that he forgot Kawhi Leonard, which appeared to be the biggest snub from his list. Other than that, the list looked to be pretty sound, though fans of Stephen Curry and Luka Doncic may want to have a word with him.

LeBron on son Bryce’s 13th birthday: ‘Where is the time going?’

LeBron James wished his youngest son Bryce Maximus a happy 13th birthday and expressed how special he is.

While NBA observers are wondering what LeBron James thinks about the resistance to resuming the NBA season from fellow players Kyrie Irving and his Lakers teammate Dwight Howard among others, Sunday wasn’t a day for James to wade into any of that chatter, publicly anyway, because it was much more important day for him: the 13th birthday of his youngest son Bryce Maximus.

On Sunday, James expressed his pride for Bryce and also his disbelief that along with Bronny, LeBron is a father to two teenagers. He shared photos of Bryce throughout the years in his dedication post, in which he encouraged his son to continue being himself.

ESPN Scout: Bronny is a better shooter than LeBron at the same age

A scout with ESPN noted that Bronny James is a better shooter than his father was at the same age in high school.

[jwplayer kKYx5CQh]

Bronny James, the oldest son of LeBron James, was ranked No. 24 for the first time in the ESPN 25 for the Class of 2023 rankings released on Tuesday afternoon.

Bronny, who is about to enter his sophomore year of high school at Sierra Canyon, was also compared to his father at the same age in high school by ESPN national recruiting director Paul Biancardi. Among the differences, Biancardi sees Bronny as a better shooter than his father.

It should also be noted that when it comes to shooting the ball from the outside, Bronny’s jumper is ahead of where his dad’s was. Neither shot could be described as “pure,” but Bronny has slightly better range and accuracy than LeBron did at this stage.

Overall, Bronny is behind where his father was at the same age. Biancardi views both players as playmakers given their passing ability but noted that LeBron had the aggression to take over games while Bronny has been passive versus older players.

Of course, Bronny will often see comparisons to his father given the nature of the sport but Biancardi noted that he has developed nicely to this point of his career given the expectations placed upon him.

ESPN scout says Bronny at current age is a better jump shooter than LeBron was

ESPN’s Paul Biancardi wrote that while LeBron was more dominant at the same age, Bronny has a leg-up on his Dad in one important area.

The next generation was the focus of ESPN.com yesterday, particularly Bronny James, the eldest son of LeBron James, and one of the top-25 players in his age group. Not only did Bronny make the list, ESPN deployed their youth basketball expert and scout Paul Biancardi to breakdown the differences in the game of young Bronny and his father when he was in the same age group.

Among the biggest differences, Biancardi noted, is that Bronny was more of a role player and complimentary player on a team that had several elite college recruits, including a couple of projected NBA guys, Ziaire Williams and BJ Boston. However, one area where he believes Bronny is ahead of his Dad at the same age is his jump shot.

It should also be noted that when it comes to shooting the ball from the outside, Bronny’s jumper is ahead of where his dad’s was. Neither shot could be described as “pure,” but Bronny has slightly better range and accuracy than LeBron did at this stage.

It shouldn’t be a shock that in the age of the NBA’s embrace of the 3-point shot that kids in younger generations would become better shooters than their predecessors. Now, present-day LeBron is a great shooter and has evolved into one of the most lethal deep 3-point threats in the NBA today. However, LeBron had basically mastered the game at every other level before getting there. In modern times, the jumper will be even more important to his son’s future. But the good thing for Bronny is, it sounds like he’s already on the right track.

LeBron James enjoys Memorial Day Weekend bike ride in L.A.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James enjoyed his weekend with a little bike ride through the streets of Los Angeles.

LeBron James might otherwise be playing in the Western Conference Finals right now but due to the coronavirus pandemic, he’s been at home like most of us for the past few months, save for a few socially distanced workouts with Lakers teammates. But don’t think for a second the extra time at home hasn’t allowed LeBron James to reconnect with another one of his first loves: the bicycle.

While the NBA broke their silence this weekend about negotiating with Walt Disney World for a single-site return, LeBron was spending Saturday of the memorial day weekend riding a bike in the streets of L.A., much to the delight of fans who were also out and about enjoying the holiday weekend.

LeBron loves bikes and has said so many times over the years. Having a bike was crucial to him getting around as a youth in Akron when his mother was working and all students at the I Promise school all received bikes of their own so they can get around as well.

LeBron James shares heartfelt Mother’s Day message for wife and mother

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James made sure that the two mothers in his life were recognized by his millions of followers.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James took the time to shine a light on two of the most important people in his life on Sunday, sharing heartfelt messages to his mother Gloria James, as well as his wife, Savannah James, on Mother’s Day, for the role that they have played in his life.

For his mother, Gloria, he still looks at her in awe for all that she did in helping raise him in a difficult in Akron, Ohio before LeBron became one of the greatest players to ever play the game. That feeling of gratitude stays with him even now and he made sure his mom felt love. LeBron also recently gave Gloria credit for helping inspire the creation of the I Promise school in Akron.

Then James shared a message about his wife Savannah and her love, as well as how she leads what LeBron called their “3-headed monster,” aka their three children.

Two Sierra Canyon players crack 2021 NBA Draft Big Board

BJ Boston and Ziaire Williams both cracked Bryan Kalbrosky’s Big Board for the 2021 NBA Draft.

It’s never to early to start thinking about the future, even during a time of uncertainty. And while nobody is quite sure when this year’s NBA Draft will be, there will be another group of players who will eventually be drafted when the NBA does return, who will at least have to wait a full school year more before they make the jump to the NBA. Our own Bryan Kalbrosky of the Rookie Wire put together his latest Big Board for the 2021 Draft class, which included two of Bronny James’ Sierra Canyon teammates, BJ Boston and Ziaire Williams.

The Kentucky-bound Boston came in No. 11 on Bryan’s first edition of the 2021 Big Board, while the Stanford-bound Williams came in at the No. 19 spot on the list. Obviously, there will be plenty of changes between now and then, but both of those guys are definitely ones to watch when it comes to going to the next level.

According to Kalbrosky, Boston’s playmaking and shot creation are very enticing, while Williams’ ability as a shooter also has him likely headed to the next level.

LeBron James cheers NCAA proposal to allow athlete endorsements

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has long been an activist for making sure that college athletes get more compensated.

LeBron James has long been an advocate for making sure that college athletes are able to take advantage of the profits that they bring in for their respective universities. While that cry, which included a documentary that LeBron James produced called “Student-Athlete” had led to some law changes, the NCAA had threatened not to change. That was until the NBA decided to put their money out in the open, directly challenging the NBA for the country’s best high school basketball players.

This week, UCLA commit Daishen Nix decided to join Fresno’s Jalen Green and Isaiah Todd of Virginia in the NBA’s G League Select program, which will pay players to train and play select games against actual G League squads.

On Wednesday, the NCAA announced a proposal allowing athletes to profit off of their image and likeness, which is similar to a law signed by California governor Gavin Newsom alongside LeBron James. However, James hopes this is only the start for college athletes.

Not being able to profit off of his name and likeness was a driving force behind LeBron going to the NBA straight out of high school, seeing how even in high school, there was an economy created around his incredible basketball skill, that he hardly saw any of.
