LeBron acknowledges his routine was broken by going to watch Bronny play before Celtics loss

LeBron acknowledges that his game day routine was broken by going to watch Bronny play in Springfield before Celtics loss.

LeBron James traveled to Springfield, Massachusetts to watch his son Bronny play on Monday at 1pm ET at the Basketball Hall of Fame. After the game, he then traveled back to the TD Garden to meet the Boston Celtics at 7:30pm. Despite throwing off his pregame routine with the game day travel, LeBron told Bill Oram of The Athletic that he’d do the same thing all over again.

While attending Bronny’s game, LeBron witnessed the unfortunate incident of a fan in the stands throwing candy or popcorn at his son while he inbounded the basketball in the 3rd quarter. Then, Lebron and his Lakers got rolled by Kemba Walker and the Celtics by a score of 139-107. But LeBron did not have any regrets following the blowout loss.

“This right here is all secondary when it comes to my family,” LeBron said.

LeBron struggled from the field against Boston, shooting just 5-of-12 on the night an missing both of the 3-pointers he attempted. He also turned the ball over four times despite finishing with 15 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds. Not helping matters was Anthony Davis who also finished far from his statistical averages with nine points and four boards.

Next up for LeBron and the Lakers are the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET as they look to bounce back from a 32-point drubbing.

LeBron shares supportive message with Bronny following incident with hater at Sierra Canyon game

LeBron James shares supportive message with his son Bronny following the incident with hater at Sierra Canyon game.

After a fan at the Sierra Canyon game threw something from the stands at Bronny James that looked to Krysten Peek of Rivals.com like a yellow starburst or a piece of trash while he inbounded the basketball in the third quarter on Monday, LeBron James issued the following statement on Twitter.

“Hating has no age limit!” James Tweeted. “#JamesGang is build for it and well equipped. As we proceed 👑 ”

Following the Los Angeles Lakers 139-107 loss to the Boston Celtics later that night, LeBron offered a message of support to Bronny on Instagram who remained on his mind throughout the night. He let his son know that he will always be there for him regardless of what he encounters on the road ahead.

“Know I got your back and front throughout it all!” LeBron wrote. “I’d die for you and your siblings. Never waver no matter what disrespect, hate, envy, jealousy, etc comes your way! Only push forward and continue to be the great kid/young man/person you are! Love you kid!! ❤️ #JamesGang👑”

“You’d be surprised by all the stuff Bronny has to go through,” teammate Ziaire Williams told Yahoo Sports after the game. “It’s not fair, but he doesn’t let it faze him at all. I’m learning how to be more like that from him and he’s younger than me.”

LeBron James says ‘hating has no age limit’ after fan throws something at his son Bronny

Bronny James had something thrown at him during Monday’s game.

Bronny James and his Sierra Canyon basketball team were the centers of attention at a big tournament in Springfield, Ma. on Monday and it was perfectly timed as his dad, LeBron James, was able to attend since the Lakers are in Boston to face the Celtics tonight.

But there was an ugly moment in the game when a fan threw what looked like a piece of candy at Bronny before he was about to inbound the ball. The ref immediately stopped the game and called a police officer over to deal with the fan, who was reportedly ejected from the game.

Here’s a look at the incident from a few angles:

LeBron had this reaction after the game:

Bronny, who’s a freshman on the varsity team and comes off the bench, missed both shots he took in the game, which his team lost, 70-62.

After the game, Bronny’s teammate Zaire Williams told Yahoo Sports that Bronny goes through a lot from fans:

“You’d be surprised by all the stuff Bronny has to go through,” teammate Ziaire Williams told Yahoo Sports after the game. “It’s not fair, but he doesn’t let it faze him at all. I’m learning how to be more like that from him and he’s younger than me.”

Hopefully fans stop acting like this.

LeBron James says ‘hating has no age limit’ after popcorn thrown at Bronny

The Los Angeles Lakers star said that people who hate on his son are going up against a prepared household on Monday.

A few hours before LeBron James and his Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden, LeBron filled his role as All-Star Dad in addition to superstar basketball player by attending his son Bronny Jr.’s game in nearby Springfield, Mass. However, a viral moment from the game got LeBron’s attention and it wasn’t a positive one.

According to video from the game, a young fan threw popcorn on the court while LeBron’s son Bronny was inbounding the ball while he was in the game for Sierra Canyon. That video prompted LeBron to make a statement that his family is not afraid of haters or popcorn throwers, regardless of age.

LeBron reportedly commissioned a helicopter to take him from the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, where his son played, to the TD Garden in Boston to face off against the Celtics. Monday is the second game of a five-game road trip for the Lakers.

WATCH: Fan ejected after throwing object at LeBron James’ son, Bronny

A high school game with LeBron James’ son playing in it was halted for a time when an object was thrown at Bronny.

The Sierra Canyon (CA) game against Paul VI Catholic (Va) in the Spalding Hoophall Classic in Springfield, (MA), was halted Monday when a fan threw something, possibly a piece of candy, at Bronny James, son of LeBron James.

LeBron James was among the 4,00 fans at Springfield College to watch the game. Forty cops were scattered around the gym and outside the small arena for additional security.

Yahoo reported:

LeBron came alone Monday and took his reserved seat flanked by five security guards on the baseline nearest the Sierra Canyon bench.

Bronny only played 13 minutes and took two shots, missing them both. Early in the second half, a fan threw what appeared to be a piece of candy at Bronny from the stands, causing the ref to stop the game and call security over to kick the fan out. LeBron sat 50 feet away shaking his head as any father would do.

LeBron James tweeted after the game about the incident.

Bronny James was held scoreless and Zaire Wade, son of Dwyane Wade, did not play, as Sierra Canyon lost, 70-62.

A fan was removed on Monday after throwing an object at Bronny James

The fan appeared to throw trash or another object at Bronny James as Sierra Canyon played in the Hoophall Classic on Monday.

A fan was removed from the Hoophall Classic at Springfield College on Monday after throwing an object at Bronny James as Sierra Canyon School was playing Paul VI High School.

Krysten Peek of Yahoo Sports captured the moment as Bronny, the son of LeBron James, was waiting to inbound the basketball on the sideline. The referee briefly stopped play to call over a security guard to escort the fan out of the gymnasium.

With the Los Angeles Lakers set to face the Boston Celtics on Monday night, LeBron made the trip to watch Bronny play. LeBron was expected to take a helicopter to Boston following the game to face the Celtics, according to Jared Weiss of The Athletic.

The Hoophall Classic is an annual tournament that features some of the top high school players in the country. Some 4,000 people packed the gym on Monday to watch Sierra Canyon play as the event has been sold out for quite some time.

Bronny and Sierra Canyon have often drawn record-breaking crowds at their games. The team even traveled to China in September and sold out each game during their 12-day trip. Given the attention that is placed on the team, security is often beefed up at each game as Monday proved.

Paul VI defeated Sierra Canyon 70-62.

North Carolina Central University reportedly offers Bronny James a basketball scholarship

North Carolina Central University reportedly offers Bronny James a basketball scholarship.

Sierra Canyon (CA) High School freshman, Bronny James, received a scholarship offer from North Carolina Central University this weekend according to the recruiting website Verbal Commits. While NCCU competes outside of college basketball’s power five, the D-I offer is notable for a number of reasons beyond the fact that it will go down as the first offer the young king received this decade.

Outside of the standing offers Bronny has already received from schools like Kentucky and Duke whose coaches have close relationships with LeBron, this was also the first scholarship offer LeBron Jr. has received since his high school career began. He received it from a North Carolina Central program that has a history of going after high-profile recruits as well who are projected to make a brief stop before entering the league.

According to HBCU Gameday, NCCU coach LeVelle Moton continued to recruit Raleigh prep sensation John Wall despite the attention he received from Kentucky and elsewhere before he became the No. 1 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. Moton, the Eagles coach since 2009, has also passed on hiring assistant coaching candidates who expressed on social media that they believe LeBron James is overrated.

The tweet on May 3, 2018 about passing on the coach who reached out to him because he posted that LeBron was overrated may go down as the chess move of all recruiting chess moves if Moton is able to pull off the improbable and secure Bronny’s services in a few years.

Sierra Canyon, Bronny James to play Friday night on ESPN 2

Bronny James and his high school team are scheduled to play on ESPN2 hours before LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers play on ESPN.

Just in case you needed an extra dose of James Family basketball on Friday night, the folks at ESPN 2 have decided to carry one of Sierra Canyon and Bronny James’ games only a few hours before his dad LeBron James takes on the New Orleans Pelicans on ESPN.

Several of Sierra Canyon’s games have been broadcast by ESPN, including a halftime interview featuring LeBron James by Rachael Nichols during their game against LeBron’s alma mater St. Vincent-St. Mary’s, but all have been on ESPN’s streaming platforms before Friday night. Friday’s game between Canyon and The Patrick School (New Jersey) is set to air at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.

Canyon suffered their first loss of the season earlier this week against Rancho Christian in an overtime game in The Classic at Damien. Bronny James is coming off the bench again for the Trail Blazers as they’ve recently gotten back Ziaire Williams, in addition, star players BJ Boston and Terren Frank. Zaire Wade, son of Dwyane Wade, is also healthy and back in the line-up.
