Broncos at Chiefs picks and predictions

Prediction

Chiefs 34, Broncos 18

Moneyline

Kansas City (-620) will cost you more than 6 times your potential return, and that’s way too expensive, either as a singular bet, or even as part of a multi-team parlay.

And while Denver (+460) is horrific, there is risk for the Chiefs with Kelce nursing an ankle injury with a quick turnaround from last week.

PASS.

Against the spread

KANSAS CITY -10.5 (-110) is worth a look at home, as Denver +10.5 (-110) has really struggled against the number, including failing to cover in its only game as an underdog in Miami in Week 3. However, be careful, as Denver has covered in 3 straight meetings.

The Chiefs have won a ridiculous 15 straight meetings, covering 10 of those outings. The last time the Broncos won in Kansas City was Sept. 17, 2015, which just happens to be the 20th birthday of QB Patrick Mahomes when he was a sophomore at Texas Tech. Yeah, it’s been a while.

Over/Under

OVER 47.5 (-105) is worth a look, as Denver’s defense has been horrific.

The Over has cashed in each of the past 3 meetings, with the Chiefs going for 27 or more points in each meeting, while allowing 24 or more points. The Over-Under has split in 2 home games for the Chiefs.

The Over has cashed in 4 straight games for the Broncos, scoring 26.3 PPG during the span. The defense has allowed 28 or more points during the 4-game stretch, too, including the 70-burger allowed in Miami.

First look: Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs odds and lines

Looking at Thursday’s Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs Week 6 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Denver Broncos (1-4) and the Kansas City Chiefs (4-1) meet in Week 6 for Thursday Night Football at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET (Prime Video). Below, we look at Broncos vs. Chiefs odds from BetMGM Sportsbook. Also see: SportsbookWire’s NFL picks and predictions.

The Broncos suffered a 31-21 setback at home against the New York Jets, falling to 0-3 in the Mile High City this season, while also going 0-3 against the spread (ATS). Denver’s only win was its most recent road outing at Chicago in Week 4, a 31-28 victory as a 3-point favorite to push at most shops. The Over has cashed in 4 straight outings for Denver.

The Chiefs have rattled off 4 straight wins since dropping a 21-20 decision against the Detroit Lions on Thursday night in Week 1. Kansas city picked up a 27-20 win in Minnesota on Sunday, and it is now 3-1 ATS in the past 4 games, while cashing the Over in 2 of the past 3 contests.

One thing to watch, TE Travis Kelce left Sunday’s game against the Vikings to have his ankle checked in the locker room after a non-contact injury. While he returned to finish the game, it’s worth watching with the quick turnaround. Remember, he missed the Week 1 game after an injury in practice prior to the game.

Broncos at Chiefs head-to-head

The Chiefs swept the regular-season series in 2022, but the Broncos played Kansas City very tough. The meeting at Arrowhead on New Year’s Day went in favor of Kansas City by just a 27-24 score, with Denver easily covering a 13.5-point number. The Chiefs won 34-28 in Denver, too, while the Broncos covered as an 8.5-point underdog.

Kansas City has won 15 straight meetings in this series, while going 10-5 ATS during the span. Denver has covered 4 of the past 5 outings, however. First look: Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs Week 17 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Denver Broncos (4-11) head to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 17 to face the Kansas City Chiefs (12-3) on New Year’s Day. Sunday’s kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at Broncos vs. Chiefs odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

The Broncos are going through some turmoil as coach Nathaniel Hackett was fired after the team’s 51-14 loss against the Los Angeles Rams. Denver was favored by 3 points heading into that game. It was the Broncos’ 6th loss in its last 7 games, and it was another poor performance for QB Russell Wilson who threw for 1 TD and 3 INTs. Despite the massive loss, it was actually the first time Denver had failed to cover the spread since Week 12.

The Chiefs are on a 3-game win streak and have won 8 of their last 9. Kansas City is coming off a 24-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks, covering as 10.5-point favorites. It was the first time the Chiefs have covered a spread since Week 7. The Chiefs have only covered the spread 4 times this season — all against NFC teams (Arizona, Tampa Bay, San Francisco and Seattle).

Broncos vs. Chiefs head-to-head

The Chiefs lead the all-time series over the Broncos 70-55 in a rivalry that dates back to 1960. Kansas City upped its win streak over Denver to 14 games in Week 14, beating the Broncos 34-28. Denver has not defeated Kansas City since September 2015 with Peyton Manning as its QB.

The Chiefs have covered the spread in 6 of their last 10 matchups against the Broncos. The Chiefs did not cover the 8.5-point spread against the Broncos earlier this season. In fact, the Chiefs were in danger of losing that game after going up ahead 27-0 in the 2nd quarter — the Chiefs allowed 3 straight Broncos TDs, but managed to hang on to the lead for the duration of the game.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has been successful against the Broncos since his first NFL start against them in 2017. In 10 games Mahomes has averaged 263 passing yards per game with 15 passing TDs, 7 INTs and 2 rushing TDs. Three of those INTs came during the Chiefs’ win over the Broncos earlier this season.

Wilson has seen some success against the Chiefs in his career as well. He’s 1-2 overall against K.C. (1-1 with the Seahawks and 0-1 with the Broncos) but has 8 TDs to just 1 INT in those games.
