It turns out that Patrick Mahomes got a ring this year after all.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Brittany Matthews back in September of 2020, and on Saturday, the couple officially tied the knot with a wedding in Maui, Hawaii. The two had been dating since their high school days. They welcomed their daughter, Sterling Skye Mahomes, in February of 2021.

According to TMZ, Mahomes’ younger brother, Jackson, was the best man in the wedding. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce also served as a groomsman.

Late Saturday night, Mahomes announced the big news with some photos on Instagram and Twitter. (Note: Swipe through the Instagram post to see the photos).

It’s wedding weekend for #Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and fiancée Brittany Matthews!

Wedding day is almost here for lovebirds Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews.

The two started dating back when they were high school students in Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas. Mahomes popped the question back in September of 2020, surprising Matthews with an engagement in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium on the same date he received his Super Bowl LIV ring. This time last year, Matthews shared with the world that they’d picked out a location and set the date for the wedding. Now, guests are arriving and flocking to Wailea, Hawaii on Maui to see the two tie the knot sometime this weekend.

Patrick’s brother, Jackson Mahomes, announced earlier this week that he would be the best man for the wedding.

Kansas City Chiefs teammates such as Orlando Brown Jr., Travis Kelce (and girlfriend Kayla Nicole), Demarcus Robinson, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Tyrann Mathieu (and fiancée Sydni Russell) are among those who are expected to attend. Mathieu has already begun posting some pictures from the island.

Other guests include Mahomes’ trainer Bobby Stroupe and Arizona Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury, who coached Mahomes at Texas Tech.

While they are certain to be thankful for the much-needed time off, the Raiders’ win on Thursday leaves them with plenty of work to do to stay in the lead with just six games remaining this year.

QB Patrick Mahomes seemed unphased by the circumstances surrounding the NFL’s Thanksgiving schedule and its implications for the AFC standings, posing for pictures with his fiancée and daughter that was posted to social media in celebration of Thursday’s holiday.

“1st Thanksgiving with Ster Girl🤎🦃 Extra thankful,” Matthews wrote on Instagram. “Happy Thanksgiving everyone😘.”

Family and football go together like mashed potatoes and gravy, especially on such a special day as Thanksgiving. Speculation remains as to what the spread looked like at the family’s gathering, but with Patrick Mahomes in the mix, it is a fair assumption that ketchup was involved in one way or another.

The Chiefs’ next matchup will be against the Denver Broncos on December 5th, just three weeks from Christmas, which is sure to be a special time for the first-time dad. Fans are certainly hoping that Kansas City can secure another Super Bowl berth this season. Ideally, the time off this past week will ensure the team is well rested for their final push for the postseason.

In the end, the athletic pursuits of the 500-million-dollar quarterback pale in comparison to the new duties he faces off the field as a dad, especially as the holiday season gets into full swing. As much as the city is rooting for him as one of their most recognizable icons, they remain steadfastly committed to supporting him through his coming of age as a girl-dad, which could prove to be the most daunting challenge of his life.

Patrick Mahomes explained the decision to make his daughter’s face public through social media

Patrick Mahomes and his fiancee Brittany Matthews welcomed a baby girl, Sterling, this offseason.

With the celebrity the couple has, there are decisions that were faced regarding their now 5-month-old daughter. Mahomes addressed them in an interview with TODAY.

“Obviously at first we wanted to keep stuff private and not have her out there,” Mahomes told TODAY. “As we started doing different things and she started getting a little bit older, being out and about, it almost became like a burden to try to hide her at all times when we do stuff, and this coming season we want her to be at the games and not have to worry about hiding her the entire time.

“We figured it was about time. We still want to keep some stuff private, but we figured we can show everybody her face at least once or twice or not have to keep hiding her.”

One interesting aspect of raising a child is Mahomes, himself, was the son of a major league pitcher. That provided some lessons in what to do.

“I think I have a little bit of an understanding because my dad played professional sports, but it’s going to be a little different in the social media age and everything like that,” Mahomes said. “We just want to give her the most normal life that she possibly can so she can grow and have friends and learn and get better and better every single day.”

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has made the 99 Club in “Madden NFL 22″ for the third consecutive season, but the way he found out about it this year tops all other seasons.

Brittany Matthews, Mahomes’ fiancee, dressed their baby daughter Sterling Skye in a onesie to surprise Patrick with his 99 overall rating announcement. The onesie had a special message for the star quarterback, who read it aloud:

“Dad is in the 99 Club again,” Mahomes said. “Nice, that’s the best surprise ever.”

This probably won’t resonate with most of the fans of the video game franchise, but talk about an adorable moment for the Mahomes family.

Mahomes is not only the top-ranked quarterback in the game with a 99 overall rating, but he’s also on the cover of the game with the quarterback who most recently defeated him in Super Bowl LV. We haven’t yet learned where the rest of the quarterbacks rank, but we know that Tom Brady isn’t a 99 overall this time around.

Mahomes is the second Chiefs player to be named to the 99 Club this season, joining TE Travis Kelce, who was named to the 99 Club earlier this week. Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams and Los Angeles Rams DT Aaron Donald and CB Jalen Ramsey are the only other players to be named to the 99 Club to start the 2021 NFL season.

Sterling Skye Mahomes just arrived and now the happy couple gets to plan a wedding.

Kansas City Chiefs starting QB Patrick Mahomes and fiancee Brittany Matthews just welcomed their daughter Sterling Skye Mahomes, and now they’ll start preparations for another memorable occasion.

Mahomes and Matthews have been dating since high school and ahead of the 2020 NFL season, the Chiefs’ quarterback finally popped the question. He arranged a surprise proposal in a suite in Arrowhead Stadium on the same day that he received his Super Bowl ring. It’s a little poetic that they both received rings that day, don’t you think?

Since the proposal, everything surrounding the wedding has been a bit of a mystery. Now that their baby girl has arrived, Matthews took to Instagram to share some information surrounding the special day for the couple.

Matthews confirmed that she and Mahomes have officially picked the venue and date for their wedding. Of course, they didn’t actually reveal the details of when and where, but Matthews did reveal that the wedding is set to happen in 2022.

That may seem a bit far out, but that will allow for things to get closer to normalcy in terms of COVID-19 concerns. It’ll also the couple more than enough time to wedding plan. Remember, Mahomes is rehabbing a turf toe injury this offseason and they’ve got a newborn daughter to take care of. Waiting a little longer for the wedding won’t necessarily be a big deal for this happy couple.

Later that evening, the iconic Union Station was lit up with pink and white lights to show their excitement and welcome the new member to the Mahomes household to Kansas City.

Patrick Mahomes is officially a dad.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews kept the due date secret, but now they’ve officially welcomed their baby girl into the world.

Both Mahomes and Matthews took to Instagram to announce that Sterling Skye Mahomes arrived on Friday, February 20th at a healthy six pounds and 11 ounces. They both shared the same picture of the little one, seemingly grabbing onto Mahomes’ finger.

It’s been a tough year for Mahomes given the challenges of all the COVID-19 restrictions, with an emphasis on keeping Matthews and his unborn baby girl safe. Now the king and queen of Kansas City have revealed to the world the gender of their unborn child with an adorable gender reveal video.

Matthews shared the video on Instagram and Twitter today, announcing the couple would be having a baby girl. The video features two other members of the Mahomes household, their two Pitbulls, Steel and Silver, helping with the reveal. They also got some really cool shirts that say “Baby Daddy” and “Baby Momma.”

They are having a baby.

Only a slight detour as Matthews suggests before they become a married couple.

So for those of you counting:

Mahomes became Super Bowl MVP in 2020.

He was given a championship ring with his teammates.

He signed a $503 million contract.

Became engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Matthews.

And now learned they are going to become parents.

Talk about having an incredible year.
