Not much has changed for the Spartans lately when it comes to college football analyst Brett McMurphy’s weekly bowl projections.

Michigan State remains slated for the Outback Bowl in McMurphy’s updated bowl projections that were released on Monday. The Spartans are now projected to play Arkansas in this traditional Big Ten vs. SEC matchup.

Michigan State could find themselves in a New Year’s Six bowl game in next week’s projections should they find a way to beat undefeated rival Michigan this weekend. Until then, the Outback Bowl will have to do — which Spartans’ fans should be plenty happy with based on the preseason expectations.

McMurphy updated his weekly bowl projections on Monday, and the Spartans remained in the Outback Bowl. However, McMurphy now has Michigan State playing Texas A&M in the traditional Big Ten vs. SEC bowl game.

Michigan State started the season not even being listed in McMurphy’s first bowl projection but is now a lock to go bowling this holiday season. Michigan State is 6-0 and officially bowl eligible with their win over Rutgers last Saturday.

Nashville or Las Vegas — which would you prefer as a fan?

Those two destinations appear to be the common picks for where Michigan State will be bowling this holiday season. That is the case in college football analyst Brett McMurphy’s updated bowl projections.

The latest bowl projections update from McMurphy now has the Spartans playing Missouri in the Music City Bowl in Nashville. For the past two weeks, McMurphy had the Spartans in the Las Vegas Bowl against a Pac-12 foe.

For a second straight week, the Spartans are projected to spend the holidays in Sin City.

College football analyst Brett McMurphy is releasing weekly bowl projections throughout the season, and the Spartans are listed in his most recent projections. McMurphy has the Spartans bowling in the Las Vegas Bowl in this week’s updated projection.

The Spartans are listed to play against Utah of the Pac 12. This was the same match-up McMurphy had for the Las Vegas Bowl last week as well.

It only took one week for Michigan State to play their way into the bowl conversation.

Last week’s victory over Northwestern has boosted the Spartans into college football analyst Brett McMurphy’s latest batch of bowl projections. McMurphy — who writes for The Action Network — had the Spartans not listed in his initial bowl projections that came out early last week but that is no longer the case in his updated projections that were released on Tuesday.

McMurphy now has the Spartans slated for the Las Vegas Bowl against the Utah Utes of the Pac-12. McMurphy also lists the betting odds for this projected match-up, which has the Spartans as a sizeable underdog at 11 points.

Any bowl game would be great for the Spartans this season, but the Las Vegas Bowl would be a real slamdunk for Michigan State. It would be a fun trip for fans and also pit the Spartans against a solid opponent from the Pac-12.

Brett McMurphy leaves Spartans out of initial bowl projections

Michigan State is getting no love from college football insider Brett McMurphy of The Action Network

[mm-video type=video id=01fcc2vd6714p24wt3zq playlist_id=01eqbz825g32p3akwt player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01fcc2vd6714p24wt3zq/01fcc2vd6714p24wt3zq-80e2f65f9ce0b71b19999cff0a7ca696.jpg]

Roughly 65 percent of college football teams will go bowling this season, but college football insider Brett McMurphy doesn’t believe the Spartans will be one of them.

McMurphy — who now writes for The Action Network — released a bowl projections for the upcoming season and Michigan State was left off the list. McMurphy has every team from Michigan except the Spartans in a bowl game.

I’m not surprised to see the Spartans left off his bowl projections list since so many in the national media are down on the Spartans. But I personally believe Michigan State will be bowl eligible when it’s all said and done this year.

Which bowl games Notre Dame is projected to play in entering 2021 season

Where do you think the Irish will go bowling?

The season gets started tomorrow, week 0 brings us a mix intriguing contests, Illinois hosting Nebraska, and some odd scheduling, Southern Utah playing two games in the span of four days. With that in mind, bowl projections are flying all over the place and in an effort to make it easier for you, we’ve complied a few of the experts projections for where Notre Dame could be headed in late December or early January below.

Does a freshman Notre Dame running back want to join the SEC?!?!

Is this an epic troll job?

There are tons of rumors surrounding the SEC and the fact that Oklahoma and Texas are making a move to potentially join the conference. Nothing yet has been confirmed, but the Sooners and Longhorns are playing coy with what they’re trying to do.

A report from Brett McMurphy today said that the move will happen, as early as next week. Conference realignment this summer has been absolutely wild, this obviously being the tip of the madness.

There was some fuel to the fire today, as Notre Dame incoming freshman Logan Diggs, who is a native of SEC country in Louisiana, tweeted out this.

It is just Diggs trolling his friends that stayed closer to home to play their collegiate football? Are there legs to this at all?

[lawrence-related id=30979]

Who really knows at this point, but it would be an interesting scenario that most likely won’t come to play. The most logical choice for the Irish would be joining the ACC and that’s obviously not a forgone conclusion.  I personally think that Diggs is just having fun, but who really knows at this point in this wild offseason full of changes.

Michigan State-Miami (FL) makes list of top 2021 non-conference college football games

Michigan State’s road match-up at Miami (FL) is being considered one of the best non-conference games of the season in 2021.

Michigan State’s trip to the sunshine state next fall to take on the Miami (FL) Hurricanes is being considered one of the best non-conference games of the season in 2021.

Brett McMurphy of Stadium has already begun to look ahead to the next college football season, and by doing so he’s pointed out the best non-conference games of the year — which includes Michigan State at Miami (FL).

The Spartans-Hurricanes battle didn’t crack McMurphy’s top 10 but was still listed in the “Best of the Rest” section.

Michigan State at Miami is part of an impressive Big Ten slate on Sept. 18. McMurphy pointed out four other marquee non-conference games involving Big Ten teams taking place that weekend:

  • Nebraska at Oklahoma
  • Auburn at Penn State
  • Minnesota at Colorado
  • Cincinnati at Indiana
