LSU makes top 10 for 2025 4-star offensive tackle

Mississippi State is a 33% favorite to land Mario Nash Jr. per On3.

One of the best offensive tackles in the 2025 recruiting class has narrowed his list of potential schools down to just 10 schools. The LSU Tigers made the list.

LSU joins Auburn, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Penn State, Ole Miss, Miami, Mississippi State, USC and Missouri. There are currently no crystal ball projections for [autotag]Mario Nash Jr.[/autotag] at this time but Mississippi State is a 33% favorite to land him per On3.

Nash is a 6-foot-5, 285-pound, four-star offensive tackle from DeKalb, Mississippi, where he plays for Kemper County High School. The Kemper County Wildcats finished the 2023 season 9-3 with a loss to Seminary in the second round of the 3A state playoffs.

LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is currently ranked as the No. 2 recruiting class in the country. It includes the No. 1 running back, quarterback, and wide receiver for the class. The class has one offensive tackle commitment already in three-star [autotag]Brett Bordelon[/autotag].

LSU’s 2025 class moves into top 5 with Dakorien Moore’s commitment

The Tigers’ are off to a very nice start in the 2025 cycle.

It’s still very early in the 2025 recruiting cycle, which won’t officially begin for a few more months. But LSU got a huge early boost for the class by landing five-star 2025 receiver [autotag]Dakorien Moore[/autotag] on Saturday.

The Duncanville, Texas, prospect joined his high school teammate in [autotag]Caden Durham[/autotag], a 2024 running back who committed to the Tigers on Thursday.

With Moore on board, LSU has its highest-rated commitment in the 2025 class so far. Moore ranks as the No. 5 player in the country according to 247Sports’ rankings, and he sits at No. 11 in the site’s industry composite rankings.

After that addition, LSU’s class ranks fifth nationally per 247Sports and fourth according to On3.

Moore joins a class that also features a pair of legacies in four-star offensive lineman [autotag]Brett Bordelon[/autotag] and four-star tight end [autotag]JD LaFleur[/autotag], as well as three-star cornerback [autotag]Jaylen Bell[/autotag].

BREAKING: LSU lands 5-star wide receiver in 2025 class

LSU has snagged another super-talented athlete from Duncanville High School in Dakorien Moore.

Just a few days after landing one of the best running backs in the country for the 2024 recruiting class in [autotag]Caden Durham[/autotag], LSU snagged another super-talented athlete from Duncanville High School.

This time, LSU landed a five-star wide receiver who is ranked as the No. 5 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class and the No. 2 wide receiver in the class. [autotag]Dakorien Moore[/autotag] is 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, and he is a monster for Duncanville.

Last season, he finished with 44 receptions for 764 yards and 6 TDs (17.4 per catch) for the Texas 6A D-I state champions as a sophomore. Like Caden Durham, Moore runs track as he anchored Duncanville’s Texas 6A state championship 4×200 relay and ran the third leg for the silver medal-winning 4×100 relay.

Moore is the first huge commitment of the 2025 recruiting class. He became the fourth commit joining [autotag]JD LaFleur[/autotag], [autotag]Brett Bordelon[/autotag] and [autotag]Jaylen Bell[/autotag]. LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is currently ranked as the No. 4 overall recruiting class by 247Sports.

Recently offered Utah OL prospect impressed by LSU visit

Baton Rouge reportedly felt like home for Darius Afalava.

Baton Rouge may be quite a distance from 2025 offensive lineman Darius Afalava’s home in Lehi, Utah, but the three-star rising junior told On3’s Shea Dixon that LSU felt like home during his visit this weekend.

Afalava ranks as the No. 336 player nationally and No. 24 offensive tackle in On3’s industry rankings, and he picked up an offer while he was on campus.

He had positive things to say about his discussions with offensive line coach [autotag]Brad Davis[/autotag], and he said he hopes to make another trip later this summer, potentially in June or July.

It’s certainly still early in his recruitment, but LSU has a wide lead for Afalava per On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine at 64.1%. The Tigers currently have just two players committed in the 2025 class, legacy offensive lineman [autotag]Brett Bordelon[/autotag] and cornerback [autotag]Jaylen Bell[/autotag].

2025 linebacker, LSU target sets commitment date

Mantrez Walker will decide between Michigan, Florida, Penn State and the Tigers.

[autotag]Mantrez Walker[/autotag] is a 5-foot-11, 215-pound linebacker in the class of 2025. He is from Buford, Georgia, where he plays for Buford High School.

[autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] has paved a recruiting trail from Baton Rouge, Louisiana all the way to Buford, signing three-star offensive tackle Paul Mubenga in the 2023 recruiting class. His former teammate Walker is down to four teams: LSU, Michigan, Florida and Penn State. He is set to make a decision on Feb. 11.

He has no Crystal Ball projections so far, and On3 isn’t sure where he will land either. LSU currently has two commitments for the 2025 recruiting class, [autotag]Jaylen Bell[/autotag] and [autotag]Brett Bordelon[/autotag].

There is a lot of time between now and Walker’s national signing day, but LSU is looking to get out ahead of the crowd. Kelly has signed back-to-back top-ten recruiting classes and has propelled the Tigers to the top of the SEC West in only one season.

BREAKING: 4-star offensive lineman Brett Bordelon commits to LSU

Bordelon is an LSU legacy and the younger brother of current Tigers OL Bo Bordelon.

[autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] received an early Christmas present Tuesday night when 2025 four-star offensive lineman [autotag]Brett Bordelon[/autotag] announced his commitment to LSU.

Bordelon is from New Orleans where he plays for Isidore Newman High School. He’s the younger brother of current Tigers offensive lineman Bo Bordelon, and his father Ben also played in Baton Rouge.

Bordelon has spent the last couple of seasons blocking for [autotag]Arch Manning[/autotag], the No. 1 quarterback in the country for the class of 2023.  The Newman Greenies finished last season 8-3 with a loss to University Lab in the second round of the playoffs.

Bordelon becomes the second commitment for the 2025 class, joining [autotag]Jaylen Bell[/autotag], a cornerback from Loganville, Georgia. Wednesday is the first day of the early signing period for the class of 2023, but Kelly is already getting ahead of the game for the class of 2024 and 2025.

Bordelon will be a guy to keep an eye on for the next two years to see how he progresses and to see how he can lead the next wave of LSU recruits.

LSU could be an option for this 2025 four-star legacy offensive lineman

After several trips during the spring and summer, Brett Bordelon could be the next to follow in his family’s footsteps and join the Tigers.

The Tigers are one of several SEC (or soon-to-be SEC) teams in the mix for one of the top underclassmen prospects from the state of Louisiana. But beyond the benefits of in-state recruiting, they have a leg up as 2025 New Orleans interior lineman [autotag]Brett Bordelon[/autotag] is an LSU legacy.

Bordelon took trips this summer to visit the Tigers in addition to Texas, Alabama and Georgia, per On3’s Sam Spiegelman.

His father, Ben, was a standout offensive lineman in Baton Rouge in the 1990s, and his brother, Bo, was a three-star signee in the 2023 class. Brett is entering his sophomore season at Isidore Newman School where he is teammates with No. 1 2023 prospect [autotag]Arch Manning[/autotag], and he has the potential to be an elite prospect.

Bordelon’s signing day is a long way off, and most recruiting sites haven’t released rankings for the 2025 class. On3, however, lists him as a four-star recruit. For what it’s worth, the Tigers, who offered him back in December after his freshman season, currently hold a 99.9% prediction for Bordelon’s services per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

LSU would seem like a logical choice, but Spiegelman reports that the younger Bordelon is expected “explore his options a bit more” than his brother — who pledged to the Tigers 12 days after receiving an offer last January. Still, Spiegelman likes LSU’s chances.

A lot could change between now and Bordelon’s graduation in 2025, but coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] seems to be in a good position to land a player who could see his stock rise quite a bit over the next couple of years.
