Women’s soccer gold medal match: Brazil vs. USWNT odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Brazil vs. USWNT odds and lines, with expert Olympics women’s soccer picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The USWNT and Brazil face off in the gold medal match Saturday at Parc des Princes in Paris. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. ET (NBC / Telemundo / Peacock). Below, we preview FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the USWNT vs. Brazil odds, and make our expert Summer Olympic picks and predictions.

The USWNT crushed the group stage, beating Zambia 3-0, Germany 4-1 and Australia 2-1. In the knockout rounds, the U.S. needed extra time in both wins, defeating Japan 1-0 in a quarterfinal and Germany 1-0 in a semifinal match. F Trinity Rodman scored the winner vs. Japan in the 105th minute, while F Sophia Smith netted the winning goal vs. Germany in the 95th minute. The USWNT has had over 55% of possession in both of its knockout stage matches.

The Brazilians struggled immensely in the group stage. They defeated Nigeria 1-0 to kick off their Olympics action but then lost 2-1 to Japan and 2-0 to Spain. Brazil turned it around in the knockout stage, though, taking down France 1-0 in a quarterfinal and beating Spain in a rematch 4-2 in a semifinal. Despite having 9 fewer shots and 3 fewer shots on frame, Brazil still advanced by Spain, the top-ranked team in the world per FIFA World Rankings.

The USWNT is No. 5; Brazil is No. 9.

Brazil vs. USWNT picks and predictions

Prediction

USWNT 2, Brazil 1

Moneyline (ML)

TAKE USWNT (-110).

The USWNT have looked dominant and have faced stiff competition over the last few games. While Brazil made it through both Spain and France, its group stage proved it isn’t consistent, and against a technically sound team like the USWNT, Brazil should struggle to keep that hot play alive.

In its last 2 matches, the USWNT had 3 more shots on frame than Germany and 2 more than Japan. Given Spain was dominant statistically against Brazil in the semifinals, the Brazilians may struggle against the USWNT, which has consistently had the bulk of the possession against opponents.

Considering these trends, TAKE USWNT (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (+131).

Brazil plays at a fast, up-and-down pace. There were 6 total goals in its semifinal win vs. Spain. Plus, the 2 teams combined for 45 total shots. The USWNT has played to the style of its opponent, totaling 3 shots on frame against Japan and then 10 against Germany.

The Americans have the ability to stretch the field and have the talent to put shots on frame. Including a few friendlies, Brazil has gone Over this total in 4 of its last 7 games. With its style of play in mind, BET OVER 2.5 (+131).

Summer Olympics: France vs. Brazil women’s soccer odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s France vs. Brazil odds and lines, with expert Olympics women’s soccer picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

France battles Brazil Saturday in an Olympics women’s soccer quarterfinal at La Beaujoire-Louis-Fonteneau in Nantes. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET (Telemundo / Peacock). Below, we preview FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the France vs. Brazil odds, and make our expert Summer Olympic picks and predictions.

Host nation France beat Columbia 3-2 to kick off its group stage play. It then lost 2-1 to Canada before beating New Zealand 2-1. France has taken down Brazil in the last 4 battles between the 2 nations, one of which was in the 2023 Women’s World Cup. In its most competitive match, against a top-10 nation in Canada, France ended with the same amount of shots and shots on frame.

Brazil had a difficult group, one that featured top-ranked Spain and No. 7 Japan. Brazil had just 1 win, but it advanced on goal differential (-2). It beat Nigeria 1-0, lost to Japan 2-1 and lost to Spain 2-0. In the latter match, the 38-year-old Brazil legend Marta received a first-half red card, and Spain scored twice in the second half. Marta will miss this match.

France vs. Brazil picks and predictions

Prediction

France 2, Brazil 1

Moneyline (ML)

TAKE FRANCE (-145).

France has looked like the sharper side, and Brazil will be without its leader in Marta. Despite a loss to Canada, France has looked like a solid side, ending with 6 goals through the 3 matches. France is No. 2 in the Women’s World Rankings.

Meanwhile, Brazil lost to Japan 2-1 and had 8 fewer shots in that match. It didn’t look good against top-10 sides and will be taking on a powerhouse in France. With 4 players that have over 100 caps on the roster, France has the experience as well.

FRANCE (-145) is the way to go.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (-136).

Simply put, both teams have allowed numerous goals throughout the tournament. France has netted 6 goals and allowed 5 while Brazil has scored 2 goals and allowed 4. France has gone Over in each match, scoring at least 2 in all 3. Brazil is 1-2 O/U this total.

Given the caliber of the French attack with F Kadidiatou Diani helping lead the charge, it should be able to get on the board early and often. Also, the last 3 games between these 2 have ended in a 2-1 French win and the last 4 have gone Over this total.

Because of the value here, TAKE OVER 2.5 (-136).

Copa America: Uruguay vs. Brazil odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Uruguay vs. Brazil odds and lines, with Copa America expert picks, predcitions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

Uruguay meets Brazil Saturday in a Copa America quarterfinal matchup. Kickoff from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Uruguay vs. Brazil odds, and make our best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

Uruguay went a perfect 3-for-3 in Group C to top the table. It opened the tournament with a 3-1 win over Panama, before hammering overmatched Bolivia 5-0. In a must-win game for the United States, Uruguay eased by the host nation with a 1-0 victory to oust the USMNT.

MF Maximiliano Araujo and F Darwin Nunez led La Celeste with 2 goals apiece in the group stage, while MF Rodrigo Bentancur, D Mathias Olivera, MF Facundo Pellistri, MF Federico Valverde and D Matias Vina each notched a goal apiece, while GK Sergio Rochet has consecutive clean sheets.

For Brazil, Vinicius Junior will miss Saturday’s match due to accumulated yellow cards, so teen phenom Endrick will draw in.

Seleção Canarinho has not been nearly as impressive as Uruguay, playing to a scoreless draw against Costa Rica in the opening match, while playing to a 1-1 draw against Colombia to settle for 2nd in Group D. Brazil’s lone victory was a 4-1 pounding of neighbor Paraguay in its 2nd match.

Junior scored 2 goals in the group stages, but he is on the shelf. MF Lucas Paqueta, F Raphinha and F Savio were the only other goal scorers for Brazil, notching 1 apiece.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +150 | U: -184)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Uruguay vs. Brazil picks and predictions

Prediction

Uruguay 1, Brazil 1 (PK)

Moneyline (ML)

DRAW (+190) is a strong play on the 3-way line as this one should be decided on penalties, similar to how Argentina-Ecuador and Canada-Venezuela were decided.

If you’re a little more conservative, playing URUGUAY (+106) on the 2-way line to qualify for the next round is an option, too. Brazil has been a lot more impressive but will be without its leading scorer from the group stage to make things more difficult.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 GOALS (-184) is a strong play, although it will certainly cost you.

However, we shouldn’t have more than 2 goals in regulation, and anything scored in penalties doesn’t count against the regulation total.

In the group stages, Uruguay cashed Over in 2 of 3 matches, but Brazil promises to be its biggest challenge yet. The total has gone Under in 2 of 3 matches for Brazil, which as mentioned, will be without Junior.

USMNT vs. Brazil odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s USMNT vs. Brazil odds and lines, with expert soccer picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The USMNT battle Brazil in an international friendly Wednesday. Kickoff from Camping World Stadium in Orlando is set for 7 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we preview FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the USMNT vs. Brazil odds, and make our best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

The USMNT is prepping for Copa America, which begins later this month. U.S. faces Brazil in its last warmup before a Copa America group stage schedule that includes matches vs. Bolivia, Panama and Uruguay.

The U.S. is coming off a tuneup 5-1 loss to Colombia Saturday (in Landover, Md.) to gauge where they are. The Americans allowed just 6 shots on target, but 5 of those ended up in the back of the net. The U.S. is 2-0-2 (W-D-L) through 4 matches in 2024. AC Milan F Christian Pulisic leads the squad with 28 goals in 67 caps, according to Wikipedia.

Brazil, on the other hand, has the 2nd-best odds to win Copa America at +220, only behind the F Lionel Messi-led Argentina (+175). Brazil beat Mexico 3-2 Saturday in a friendly at College Station, Texas. Brazil only took 5 shots, but netted 3. Brazil is 2-1-0 through 3 matches in 2024, having yet to lose. It will face Costa Rica, Paraguay and Columbia — arguably the most difficult group — in the Copa America group stage. Brazil will be led offensively in this match by F Vinicius Junior, who was the most lethal weapon for the UEFA Champions League-winning Real Madrid.

USMNT vs. Brazil odds

  • Moneyline: USMNT +600 (bet $100 to win $600) | Brazil -270 (bet $270 to win $100) | Draw +370
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -192 | U: +136)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

USMNT vs. Brazil picks and predictions

Prediction

Brazil 2, USMNT 0

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

The USMNT (+600) has its Copa America squad taking the pitch. The Americans didn’t look good and were unable to stop Colombia Saturday along. They were unable to generate much offense in that match. The team looked totally out of sync on both sides. There’s no great reason to believe it could pull off even a draw against a Brazil side (-270) seen as significantly better than Colombia.

Behind Vini Jr., Brazil — No. 5 in the FIFA Men’s rankings — poses an even greater threat offensively for the U.S than No. 12 Colombia — the USMNT is 11th. Brazil has wins over 4th-ranked England and No. 14 Mexico this season and should be able to have its way with the USMNT.

However, the moneyline isn’t worth a play at -270.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (+136).

Brazil has gone Under this total in 5 of its last 8 matches and has gone Under it in 2 of its last 4. While it has scored 3 goals in each of its last 2 games, it ended with a combined 11 shots on goal through those matches. So, the numerous opportunities weren’t necessarily there.

As mentioned, the USMNT limited Colombia to just 6 shots on frame and should have a unit that bounces back after having been demolished Saturday. It has gone Under in 2 of its last 4 games, allowing just 2 goals in those 4 matches. It has the defense to slow down Brazil, while the USMNT offense has tallied just 1 goal in its 2 international friendlies this season.

Expect a game with a higher intensity than what the U.S. showed Saturday, and one with limited offensive opportunities. BACK UNDER 2.5 (+136).

2023 Women’s World Cup: Jamaica vs. Brazil odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Jamaica vs. Brazil odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

Jamaica (1-1-0 / W-D-L) takes on Brazil (1-0-1) Wednesday from Melbourne Rectangular Stadium. Kickoff in each nation’s last group stage match is set for 6 a.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Jamaica vs. Brazil odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Jamaica opened its World Cup play with a 0-0 draw against France on July 23. It had just 6 shots, 2 of which were on frame, while France had 14 and 5, respectively. F Khadija Shaw received a red and missed Jamaica’s 1-0 win over Panama Saturday, but should be back and rested now. Jamaica had 20 shots and 4 on target, despite having just 48% possession. It ranks 43rd in the FIFA Women’s Ranking.

Brazil comes in virtually needing a win to advance to the knockout round. France will be a heavy favorite against Panama. A French win and Jamaican draw would send Brazil home. Brazil sits 8th in the world ranking. It beat Panama 4-0 to open its group matches and had 32 shots, 10 of which were on frame. Against France — a 2-1 loss — it had just 2 shots on target, which was 5 fewer than France’s 7.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -160 | U: +115)

Jamaica vs. Brazil picks and predictions

Prediction

Brazil 2, Jamaica 0

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

Brazil will have its back against the wall but was dominant against Panama, a team that is comparable to Jamaica in technical ability. Brazil is expected to hold Jamaica scoreless as BOTH TEAMS NOT TO SCORE is listed at (-190).

Brazil scored on France and peppered 32 shots at Panama. It should be able to get through a Jamaica defense that has been surprisingly resilient throughout its 1st 2 games. Jamaica did enough to beat Panama, but it had as many shots on goal and less possession.

Jamaica has 4 points through 2 matches, but it hasn’t been as impressive as Brazil. Brazil has no value at (-450), nor does betting against the top-10 nation.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (+115).

Jamaica has yet to allow a goal in the World Cup. With France and Panama having combined for just 9 shots on target, Jamaica’s backline has performed well, and while I expect it to lose, that line should be able to hold up well.

Brazil has scored 1 or fewer goals in 5 of 8 games in 2023. In games that were in the SheBelieves Cup, UEFA competitions for the World Cup, it has topped 1 goal in just 1 of 6 matches. Brazil has a strong, experienced attack and should win, but it likely won’t dominate Jamaica’s defense.

That said, take UNDER 2.5 (+115).

2023 Women’s World Cup: France vs. Brazil odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s France vs. Brazil odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

France (0-1-0 / W-D-L) takes on Brazil (1-0-0) in the 2023 Women’s World Cup Saturday. Kickoff from Brisbane Stadium in Australia is set for 6 a.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the France vs. Brazil odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

France is part of a loaded Group F that also includes Jamaica and Panama. It drew Jamaica 0-0 in its opener despite having 8 more shots and 3 more shots on target, respectively ending with 14 and 5. France controlled possession for 73% of the match yet failed to net a goal. It is among the World Cup favorites, sitting 5th on the FIFA Women’s World Rankings while Jamaica is 43rd.

Brazil is ranked 8th. While 37-year-old F Marta is still on the roster, Brazil was led by M Ary Borges in Monday’s win. Borges netted a hat trick as Brazil blasted No. 52 Panama 4-0, ending with 32 shots and 10 on target. Brazil has won 3 straight matches and is 11-1-3 over its last 12 calendar months.

France vs. Brazil picks and predictions

Prediction

Brazil 2, France 1

Moneyline (ML)

LEAN BRAZIL (+155).

Brazil has looked every bit the part of a team that can win the 2023 Women’s World Cup. It dominated Panama in every aspect, and unlike France, it was able to convert against a weaker opponent in the final 3rd. Its success against teams like Germany (2-1 win April 11) and England (1-1 draw April 6) are telling where it is at from a consistency perspective.

France didn’t have too many quality wins this calendar year and lost 1-0 to Australia in its last game prior to the World Cup. It isn’t playing at Brazil’s level right now.

Take BRAZIL (+155).

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (+125).

Brazil has gone Over this total in 4 of its last 5 matches with the lone 1 missing this total being a 1-1 draw with England. It won 2-1 against Germany (ranked No. 2) and lost 2-1 against the United States (ranked No. 1) in its last 5 matches. It can score on top-tier sides.

France might not have tallied a goal, but it did manage the opportunities which should lend most to believe it will have ample goal-scoring chances again. With 14 shots, expect France’s attack to be better in the final 3rd against Brazil. It has gone Over this total in 3 of its last 5 matches, scoring 3 or more in 2 of its last 5.

Given Brazil’s ability to play with pace and score against elite nation, take OVER 2.5 (+125).

2022 World Cup: Croatia vs. Brazil odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Croatia vs. Brazil odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In the 1st quarterfinal battle, Croatia faces Brazil on Friday with kickoff from Education City Stadium set for 10 a.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Croatia vs. Brazil odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Croatia finished 2nd in Group F play, recording 2 draws (both 0-0) and a win. They ended group stage play with 4 goals scored and 1 allowed, all in their sole win over Canada. They outlasted Japan in the Round of 16 on penalty kicks. Croatia ended with 17 shots (4 on target) and 59% possession. They won 3-1 in penalties.

Brazil, No. 1 in the FIFA rankings and the favorite to win the title, abused South Korea 4-1 in their Round of 16 matchup. Brazil had 3 more shots on target than South Korea and managed just 54% possession. Brazil won Group G by beating Serbia 2-0 and Switzerland 1-0 before allowing some players to get rest in a 1-0 loss to Cameroon.

Prediction

Brazil 2, Croatia 0

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

There’s no value on the moneyline. Brazil scored 4 on South Korea with ease, all in the 1st half. They are far more talented than Croatia.

Aside from 4 against Canada, Croatia didn’t score in the group stage. That  justifies the value of these moneyline odds. That said, ultimately this is a pass.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (+110).

Brazil might be a high-paced side, but they haven’t dominated most games from an offensive standpoint. They went Under this total in all group stage games and only beat Switzerland 1-0.

Their match with Switzerland should be similar to this match with Croatia as both the Swiss and Croatian strength comes in their technical midfield. There were just 5 shots on target in that battle.

For Croatia, they have gone Under this total in 3 of their 4 World Cup matches and had 2 group stage matches ended without a single goal. The best offensive team Croatia has faced, Belgium, ended with just 3 shots on target.

Expect both defenses to come to play, and the UNDER 2.5 (+110) is the best value on the table in this battle.

2022 World Cup: Cameroon vs. Brazil odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Cameroon vs. Brazil odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In the final Group G group stage match, Cameroon (0 win, 1 losses, 1 draw) and Brazil (2-0-0) meet Friday at Lusail Iconic Stadium at 2 p.m. ET (FOX/Telemundo). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Cameroon vs. Brazil odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Cameroon steps onto the pitch with just 1 out of a possible 6 points, but still holding the potential to move on. It will take a miracle, as it needs to beat Brazil, but with Canarinho already through to the Round of 16, the Indomitable Lions have a shot. Cameroon also needs Switzerland to fall to Serbia, then it comes down to goal differential.

Brazil posted a 2-0 win over Serbia thanks to a pair of goals from F Richarlison, and M Casemiro bagged a goal at 83′ to break up a scoreless match against Switzerland on Monday. Brazil has been more than fine even with superstar F Neymar nursing an ankle injury.

Prediction

Brazil 2, Cameroon 1

Moneyline (ML)

Brazil (-260) will cost you more than 2 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s super expensive, especially since it has very little to play for.

Cameroon (+720) will have its foot on the gas, and it scored 3 goals last time out against Serbia. But it won’t come close to doing that here, even if Brazil plays reserves for a good chunk of the match. CAMEROON +2 (-133) is a strong play, as the Lions will be pushing hard, and it has shown a penchant for goal scoring.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 2.5 (-135) is strong option.

Brazil is a gifted and deep group, and even the reserves are capable of scoring should they get the opportunity. Cameroon played strong defense in the opener, falling to Switzerland 1-0 in the opener. It played a very exciting 3-3 draw against Serbia last time out, and it showed it has the offense to get on the board when it plays more up tempo. That will certainly be the case here, as it is playing for its World Cup life.

Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer: Brazil vs. Spain odds, picks and prediction

Neither Brazil or Spain brought their best squad to the Summer Olympics amid a busy summer of international soccer, but they’ll play for the gold medal Saturday. Kickoff will be at 7:30 a.m. ET at International Stadium Yokohama. Below, we preview the Brazil vs. Spain odds and lines, and make our best Summer Olympics bets, picks and predictions.

Spain topped host nation Japan 1-0 in the semifinals while Brazil had to go to penalty kicks with Mexico where it won 4-1.

The Spaniards handed Ivory Coast a more decisive 5-2 loss in the quarterfinals after winning Group C at just 1-0-2. Spain outscored the competition 2-1 in the Group Stage. Brazil won Group D at a more convincing 2-0-1 and outscored the rest of the group 7-3.

Brazil entered the Olympics third in the FIFA world rankings and Spain sixth; however, those rankings were not updated since the end of the Euro 2020 and Copa America tournaments.

Prediction

Brazil 2, Spain 0

Money line (ML)

Back the much higher-scoring BRAZIL (+165) for a win within 90 minutes and stoppage time.

Spain opened the tournament with a 0-0 draw against Egypt, crept past Australia 1-0 and drew Argentina 1-1 before erupting for 5 goals against Ivory Coast in the quarters. The offense was short-lived as it topped Japan just 1-0.

Brazil has been much more proficient at the offensive end. It doubled up Germany 4-2, drew Ivory Coast 0-0 and responded with a 3-1 win over Saudi Arabia to close the Group Stage.

Mexico, who Brazil beat in the semifinals, is by far the best team either side played in the knockout stage. That tough tuneup will be an advantage for Brazil in the medal game.

Over/Under (O/U)

There are two possible plays on the total with neither being ideal but OVER 1.5 (-170) offers better value than Under 2.5 (-220).

Scoring dried up for both teams in the semifinals but Brazil has shown an ability to find the back of the net in this tournament. It’ll get some revenge and take care of the Over after losing the Copa America final 1-0 to Argentina.

Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer: Brazil vs. Ivory Coast odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Brazil vs. Ivory Coast odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer picks, tips and best bets.

In Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer Group D action Sunday, Brazil and Ivory Coast play in a 4:30 a.m. ET kickoff at International Stadium Yokohama. Below, we preview the Brazil vs. Ivory Coast odds and lines, and make our best Summer Olympics bets, picks and predictions.

Brazil doubled up Germany 4-2 in its opening match of Group D play, and it was an amazing performance by Richarlison. The forward recorded a hat trick, as Brazil dominated and outperformed Germany 24-7 in shots, including 13-4 in shots on target, with a 52-48 percent edge in possession.

Ivory Coast was impressive in its first Olympic soccer match since the 2008 Beijing Games, posting a 2-1 victory over Saudi Arabia. Les Elephants were the beneficiaries of an own-goal in the first half, and Franck Kessie punched in the game-winning goal in the 66th minute Thursday.

Prediction

Brazil 3, Ivory Coast 1

Money line (ML)

Brazil (-350) looked sharp in doubling up Germany in the opener, but risking three and a half times your potential return is not a recommended wagering strategy.

A better play is YES (-125): BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE for a good value at plus-money.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 3.5 (+110) is also a strong play at plus-money. Brazil flexed its muscle with 4 goals against a very solid German side and should be able to get it done against Cote d’Ivoire.

I do think Les Elephants help the cause with at least 1 goal, as it has a solid cast of young international players.
