Washington big man commits to Nebraska

Braxton Meah will transfer into the Husker program for the 2024-25 season.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have added a West Coast rim protector. Braxton Meah will transfer into the Husker program for the 2024-25 season.

Meah is a 7-foot-1, 255-pound center from Layton, Utah. He spent the last two seasons with the University of Washington and will have one year of eligibility.

According to head coach Fred Hoiberg, the big man is Nebraska’s tallest player since the 2013-14 season.

“Braxton gives us a different dimension for our system with his skill set and athleticism. He puts a lot of pressure on defenses with his ability to get to the rim and finish around the basket. Defensively, he’s led Washington in blocked shots each of the past two years and was on the Pac-12 all-defensive team in 2022-23. He has the size and length to be an effective rim protector.”

Meah played in all 32 games last season, averaging 5.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while leading the Huskies in field goal percentage and blocked shots.

He began his career at Fresno State, appearing in 52 games over the course of two seasons.
