Auburn extends offer to top ranked JUCO offensive tackle

Auburn extended an offer to four-star offensive tackle Isaiah Jatta, who played with Keionte Scott last season.

Auburn signed an elite junior college class last season. The Tigers landed the No. 1 overall player (Jeffrey M’ba), the No. 1 cornerback (Keionte Scott), and the No. 1 safety (Marquise Gilbert).

The Tigers are once again going after the best talent in the junior college ranks, on Friday they extended an offer to four-star offensive tackle [autotag]Isaiah Jatta[/autotag].

The San Diego, California native is ranked as the No. 1 offensive tackle in junior college in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is also the No. 3 overall player.

While the 6-foot-6, 310-pound Jatta is committed to SEC rival South Carolina, he is a former teammate of Scott’s, both attended Snow College last season.

[autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag] has acknowledged that the coaching staff is not afraid to keep recruiting players who are committed elsewhere. They already successfully flipped four-star edge [autotag]Ashley Williams[/autotag] from Nebraska, and doing so with Jetta would be massive for the class.

Another thing the Tigers may have going for them is that Jatta could come in and immediately compete for a starting spot. Four of the Tiger’s offensive tackles are seniors and could potentially move on after the 2022 season.

Auburn is looking to sign multiple offensive tackles in the 2023 signing class and is expected to pursue high school recruits, JUCO players, and transfers. The Tigers currently have a commitment from four-star interior offensive lineman [autotag]Bradyn Joiner[/autotag] but are still looking for their first tackle.

Local cornerback JC Hart commits to Auburn

JC Hart is staying home. The three-star cornerback committed to Auburn Friday afternoon.

Auburn is once again doing a great job of keeping local products home. The Tigers landed a commitment from three-star cornerback [autotag]JC Hart[/autotag].

He is from nearby Loachapoka, Alabama, and committed to [autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag] and the rest of the Auburn Tigers Friday afternoon over Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, and UCF.

Hart is ranked as the No. 887 overall player and No. 85 cornerback in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 33 player from Alabama.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Hart plays for Loachapoka High School where he also has a GPA over 4.0. The trait that sticks out most about Hart is his blazing speed, he ran a 4.37 40-yard dash at Auburn this June in a camp.

His father, Corey Hart, was also a star at Loachapoka and went on to play for Marshall University.

Hart is Auburn’s seventh commit of the 2023 recruiting class and their first cornerback. He is the second local product to commit to the Tigers, following four-star interior offensive lineman [autotag]Bradyn Joiner[/autotag], who plays for Auburn High.

Three-star offensive line targets commits to Miami over Auburn

Auburn’s six commits are the fewest in the SEC.

Auburn made a push to sign one of the top centers in the 2023 recruiting class but [autotag]Connor Lew[/autotag] is headed to Miami, he announced Friday afternoon.

Lew, who is from Acworth, Georgia, officially visited Auburn on June 17 and took multiple unofficial visits to the Plains but that was not enough to sway him away from the Hurricanes, a program he grew up watching.

Auburn is looking to land multiple offensive linemen in the 2023 class and while they do have a commitment from four-star [autotag]Bradyn Joiner[/autotag], Lew would have been a nice addition. The Tigers need to land multiple tackles and interior linemen in the 2023 cycle and Lew was one of Auburn’s top targets along the interior.

The Tigers currently have six commits and while each is considered a four-star prospect, the class is ranked dead last in the SEC and 63rd overall. On the positive side, the average recruiting ranking of their commits is 90.88, which is the sixth best in the conference.

Auburn’s coaching staff has done a great job of landing a talented core of the class, they just need to start filling out the rest of the class.

2023 Auburn Tigers football recruiting tracker

The running list of 2023 prospects who have committed to the Auburn Tigers’ current recruiting class.

During the first year of the [autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag] era, the new head coach secured a top-20 class for 2022. The Auburn Tigers finished No. 19 overall and No. 7 in the SEC. Looking at the 2023 cycle, the head coach needs an even better class.

It wasn’t a roaring start to the recruiting cycle as Auburn had just one commit over the first three months of the year. They would pick up safety Terrance Love in April but added three more in the month of July.

This list will be updated as more prospects commit to playing for Auburn and head coach Bryan Harsin.

Auburn gives first official offer for 2023 class

Auburn has sent out its first official offer for the 2023 class.

The Auburn Tigers gave out their first official offer on Monday, and it’s fitting that it went to their first recruit of the 2023 class.

Offensive lineman [autotag]Bradyn Joiner[/autotag], who committed to the Tigers on the first day of the year in 2022, received his official offer from Auburn on Monday according to his Twitter account. The Tigers first gave their verbal offer to Joiner on Oct. 30 of 2021, but the team made it official on Monday.

Teams can only bring in 25 new scholarship players at a time, and thus offers made to recruits are not “official” until the official offering day for college football. That day is Aug. 1, and as such, expect coach [autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag] and his staff to be handing out their official offers to the 2023 Tigers recruiting class.

It is likely that Joiner will sign his LOI (letter of intent) in December after receiving this official offer, should he remain committed to play for the Tigers. Auburn is sure to hand out other official offers throughout the day, but Joiner has the distinction of being the very first for this Tigers 2023 class.

Auburn extends offer to OT Jatavius Shivers at Big Cat

Auburn is firmly in the mix for 3-star offensive tackle Jatavius Shivers.

[autotag]Jatavius Shivers[/autotag] came to Big Cat without an offer but the big offensive tackle is leaving the Plains with one.

Shivers, who was at one time committed to Vanderbilt, is a three-star offensive tackle from Villa Rica, Georgia, and is an intriguing prospect. He has the ideal size for a tackle in the SEC, measuring in at 6-foot-7 and 290 pounds.

Shivers backed off of his commitment to Vanderbilt in early July and the Tigers wasted no time getting involved. Getting him to visit for Big Cat and extending him at offer at the end of the day.

He is ranked as the No. 920 overall player and No. 80 offensive tackle in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is also the No. 91 player from Georgia.

Auburn needs to land several offensive linemen in this recruiting class and while they have a commitment from four-star [autotag]Bradyn Joiner[/autotag], he projects as either a center or a guard. Shivers would be a good start to addressing that need as he has experience playing both left and right tackle.

Recruiting: In-state OT lists Auburn in top-8

Stanton Ramil, a four-star offensive tackle from Thompson High School, lists Auburn in his top-8 college choices.

Auburn Football is in the running to land one of the state’s best offensive linemen of the 2023 class.

[autotag]Stanton Ramil[/autotag], a four-star offensive tackle from Alabaster, released his top-8 college choices on Tuesday, with Auburn being the only in-state program to make the cut.

Ramil burst onto the radar during his junior year, reeling in his first offer from UCF last August. However, since the calendar has flipped to 2022, Ramil has been busy fielding offers and taking unofficial visits.

Auburn jumped into the picture in January, as they were the second Power Five program to offer Ramil a scholarship during the month. He also took an unofficial visit to Auburn on Mar. 29 according to 247Sports.

Ramil stands at 6-7, 310 pounds, a frame that 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Cooper Petagna says is perfect for being a great tackle at the next level, no matter which slot on the offensive line.

Above average athlete with ideal length, could see transitioning to right tackle at the next level as it would be more advantageous to his skill set. Projects as an above average multi-year starter at a Power Five program with the ability to outperform his projection.

Stanton Ramil is a four-star rated OT from powerhouse Thompson High School in Alabaster. He is ranked No. 20 among offensive tackles across the country, and the No. 15 overall prospect from the state of Alabama for the class of 2023. Auburn currently has two commits for the 2023 recruiting cycle, including three-star interior lineman [autotag]Bradyn Joiner[/autotag].

Offensive line target Connor Stroh sets visit schedule

Auburn will host Connor Stroh on his first official visit.

Auburn is looking to land several offensive linemen in the 2023 recruiting class. One of the players they are looking to add is three-star offensive tackle [autotag]Connor Stroh[/autotag].

Stroh included Auburn in his top five schools, which was rounded out with Texas, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Florida. The Frisco, Texas native will visit each of these schools over the next two months.

He is ranked as the No. 397 overall player and No. 28 offensive tackle in the 247Sports composite ranking. Measuring in at 6-feet-7 and 345 pounds he has the ideal size to be a tackle in the SEC. He also competes in powerlifting and track and field for Wakeland High School.

Auburn already has a commitment from Auburn High’s own [autotag]Bradyn Joiner[/autotag], who projects as either a guard or a center. Auburn has to land multiple other offensive linemen and Stroh would be a strong start.

Auburn will get the chance to make the first impression on Stroh while Texas will get the all-important final visit. Here is the schedule he announced.

Alabama offensive tackle sets five visits for the month of April, Auburn up first

Auburn is set to host Vysen Lang, a four-star offensive tackle in April.

On Monday it was announced that 2023 four-star offensive tackle [autotag]Vysen Lang[/autotag] would make another unofficial visit to the Plains. Lang has reportedly visited campus on two other instances in the past six months.

Head coach Bryan Harsin and the Tigers are looking to beef up their offensive line to go along with the 2023 commit, [autotag]Bradyn Joiner[/autotag]. Thus far, Joiner is Harsin’s only commit at this time. As we know, that can change in an instant once prospects start to buy-in.

Lang brings size and length to the edge. He will use his size to his advantage to bully defenders who line up across from him. A player that plays through the whistle. He doesn’t give up on plays and will continue to punish defenders. Lang has a nastiness that is needed on this football team.

The video below is just a sample of what the Alabama native brings to the table.

Vysen Lang’s Film

Next, we take a look at his recruiting profile.

A new edge rusher target has emerged after he picked up an offer from Auburn

Auburn extends an offer to Texas edge defender in the latest recruiting efforts on the trail.

On Monday, Auburn extended an offer to 2023 edge rusher Braylan Shelby. Shelby, the Texas native, already holds 25 offers. With the Tigers likely losing [autotag]Derrick Hall[/autotag] and [autotag]Eku Leota[/autotag], the addition of Shelby would be a massive addition for the 2023 class.

Auburn’s lone commit of the 2023 class is offensive lineman [autotag]Bradyn Joiner[/autotag]. [autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag] and his staff certainly hope that their recruiting class isn’t a replica of last year’s recruiting class. Last year, the Tigers ranked 9th in the SEC in 247’s recruiting rankings. A guy like Shelby could definitely bolster Auburn’s chances of having a better recruiting cycle for 2023.
