2025 4-star WR and Florida State commit is currently visiting Texas A&M

One of the top 2025 wide receiver prospects is reportedly visiting College Station today

Texas A&M’s (2-1. 1-0 SEC) Week 4 home matchup against Bowling Green (1-1) will feature just some of the Aggies’ 21 commits in the 2025 recruiting class as head coach Mike Elko looks to keep the momentum going against the Falcons on Saturday night.

However, while the 2025 cycle is filled with future defensive talent, securing elite prospects at the wide receiver position has been an issue under first-year wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins, whose impressive recruiting track record during his time at Alabama has failed to carry over to College Station.

However, according to recruiting insider Jaxson Callaway, Elko and Wiggins are reportedly hosting 2025 4-star wide receiver and current Florida State commit Daylan McCutcheon on Saturday, looking to take advantage of the Seminole’s immense struggles on the field this season.

Amid his senior season at Lovejoy HS in Lucas, Texas, McCutcheon is a quick-footed, twitchy athlete with plenty of speed who consistently takes the top off of most secondaries while putting up big numbers over his last two seasons.

During his sophomore and junior seasons at Lovejoy, McCutcheon reeled in 117 receptions, 1,704 yards, and 22 touchdowns through the air.

According to 247Sports Composite, McCutcheon is currently positioned as the 106th-ranked ranked prospect, the 14th-ranked wide receiver prospect, and the 20th-ranked prospect in Texas.

2025 4-star wide receiver Kelshaun Johnson and 3-star wideout Tristan Norman are Texas A&M’s only receiver commits in the cycle thus far.

Texas A&M will host Bowling Green on Saturday, Sept. 21. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.

Texas A&M DE Shemar Stewart is using football to help those in need

Shemar Stewart is continuing to make an impract on an off the field

Texas A&M junior defensive end Shemar Stewart entered the 2024 season with lofty goals, including double-digit sacks after recording just one a year ago. Under the guidance of new head coach Mike Elko and defensive coordinator Jay Bateman, Stewart has begun to ascend in the Aggies’ first three games.

In last weekend’s SEC road win over Florida, Stewart finished second on the team in tackles with five, including two solo tackles, half a sack, and half a tackle for loss. Looking past the stats, Stewart was all over the field, beating his one-on-one matchup more often than not while disrupting nearly every passing set.

While the former 5-star athlete’s future on the field is extremely bright if he continues to improve, Stewart sat down in a recent interview, representing the Aggies as an NCAA athlete in today’s NIL-dominated landscape. While the Miami, Florida native is involved in several NIL initiatives, he focuses on helping those in need with the good fortune he’s received.

“College football has provided me with the recourses to help better myself and to help provide for my family back home” Stewart stated. “My teammates and my coaches, you know, we all like to strive to be the best person we could be in the game of football and what ever we’re doing.”

“And my coaches, they never ease up on me. They always push me to the limit. So I always, always thank them for that. Coming from not the best living situations, you know, my goal is like one day just supply everybody. Like if someone is in need I can help them make sure life is better because I wish I had someone in my life that could do that for me.”

Lastly, Stewart knows that a simple smile can brighten someone’s bad day, especially in the locker room when adversity hits.

“I want people to remember me as the person that’s always laughing becuase I feel that’s how you brighten someone’s day up. I want to be remembered as someone that always brightens peoples days.”

Watch Texas A&M’s Week 4 game trailer ahead of facing Bowling Green

Here is a Jahdae Walker narrated game 4 trailer ahead of Texas A&M’s Week 4 matchup vs. Bowling Green

Texas A&M (2-1. 1-0 SEC) is headed back to Kyle Field for a Saturday night showdown vs. Bowling Green (1-1), who is coming off a bye week after falling to Penn State 34-27 back in week 1.

The Aggies entered last weekend with plenty on the line while dealing with significant adversity after starting quarterback Conner Weigman was sidelined due to a shoulder injury revealed later in the week, vaulting backup dual-threat signal caller Marcel Reed into the lineup.

Reed looked like a seasoned veteran in his first career start, throwing for 178 yards and two touchdowns while racking up 83 rushing yards and a score. However, A&M’s running game stole the day. The offensive line played with consistent physicality, opening up running holes that led to 310 yards on the ground.

The Falcons present another challenge for A&M’s shaky but improved run defense. Head coach Mike Elko will not announce Saturday’s starting quarterback until moments before kickoff. However, Texas A&M’s media team provided an exciting game trailer narrated by senior wide receiver Jahdae Walker to watch ahead of what should be an entertaining matchup.

‘Texas A&M will be a top 10 team,’ according to Bowling Green head coach Scott Loeffler

“I know there was talent there. He’ll keep moving the needle and making it a super-disciplined group, and Texas A&M will be a top 10 team.”

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko is widely respected around the country for the work ethic he instills in each program that he leads.

Ahead of a home matchup against Bowling Green this weekend at Kyle Field, Falcons head coach Scott Loeffler shared his opinion of Elko and the impact he’ll have at the helm of the Aggies (2-1, 1-0 SEC).

“I know there was talent there. He’ll make it better,” Loeffler said this week. “He’ll keep moving the needle and making it a super-disciplined group, and Texas A&M will be a top 10 team before we can even blink.”

Although Elko and Loeffler haven’t coached together before, the former has spent time with the Falcons during his career. Elko served as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Bowling Green for five seasons from 2009 to 2013. Loeffler has been the Falcons head coach since 2019.

3 Bowling Green players to watch ahead of Texas A&M’s Week 4 matchup

Here are three Bowling Green players to watch for ahead of Saturday’s game

Texas A&M (2-1. 1-0 SEC) will head back to Kyle Field to take on Bowling Green (1-1) on Saturday night, just a week after ending the ten-game SEC road losing streak against the Florida Gators, head coach Mike Elko also earned his first conference victory.

Take center stage this week, back quarterback Marcel Reed’s breakout performance in his first career starts has Aggie fan split on who should start on Saturday, while Elko and his staff are keeping things internal while Conner Weigman’s shoulder injury continues to heal.

Who ever starts under center, the Aggies run game and blocking up front looks like a predominate strength offensively through the last two weeks, while the defense and pass rush is steadily improving.

Focusing on the Falcons, here are three players to watch that could cause the Aggie defense problems on Saturday night.

RB Terion Stewart

Bowling Green’s offense starts with the ground game, as junior running back Terion Stewart has looked the part during the Falcon’s first game against Fordham, averaging 11.5 yards per rush for 161 yards and a touchdown. Even after missing Bowling Green’s loss against Penn State, the team’s running back stable still ran for 121 yards and a touchdown, averaging 7.7 yards per carry so far.

QB Connor Bazelak

Bowling Green will be competitive in nearly every game this season because of senior quarterback Connor Bazelak, who enters his final season with the Falcons after transferring from Missouri a couple of year ago. Only throwing for 12 touchdowns last season, Bazelak has steadily improved in the pocket, throwing for 422 yards and two touchdowns so far, including 254 yards against Penn State. However, this will be the toughest secondary he faces for the rest of the season.

TE Harold Fannin Jr.

By far the most explosive offensive weapon on the Falcons roster, junior tight end Harold Fannin Jr. leads the team in receptions (17) and receiving yards (204) while reeling his his first touchdown against Penn State. Speed, strength, and impressive route running are just a few traits that make Fannin a nightmare matchup with linebackers who are forced to cover the seam.

On Saturday, I expect Aggie linebacker Scooby Williams to be on most of the coverage duties, while safety Marcus Ratcliffe possesses the length and athleticism to clean up any remaining coverage duties.

Texas A&M will host Bowling Green on Saturday, Sept. 21. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.

Texas A&M’s uniform vs. Bowling Green has been revealed

Texas A&M is going back to the Maroon helmet and white pants against Bowling Green

Texas A&M (2-1, 1-0 SEC) will return to Kyle Field on Saturday night for a week 4 matchup against Bowling Green (1-1) just a week after demolishing the Florida Gators 33-20 for the program’s first SEC road win in over three seasons.

This week, the discussion surrounding Texas A&M’s quarterback situation has reached the national stage. Conner Weigman’s shoulder injury led to backup Marcel Reed’s first career start, where he scored three touchdowns through the air and on the ground against the Gators.

This weekend, Elko has a decision to make but won’t announce who will start under center until both teams are set to take the field, as he and his staff are keeping things as internal as possible while Weigman continues to rehab his shoulder.

If Reed makes his second consecutive start, he and the Aggies will be wearing Maroon helmets, Maroon jerseys, and white pants, the same uniform worn during the week 2 52-10 win over McNeese State.

To introduce the uniform against the Falcons, starting middle linebacker Taurean York with the always magnificent Reveille seeing eye to eye on the decision.

The experts weigh in on the Texas A&M vs Bowling Green matchup in Week 4

Texas A&M football is an overwhelming favorite in their Week 4 matchup against Bowling Green

College football appears to be more open than in the past decade, with no clear team predicted to maintain the No. 1 spot for most of the season.

After Texas A&M beat Florida, they re-entered the Top 25 in the No. 25 spot. The game was considered a toss-up, but the Aggies won dominantly.

It also confirmed that head coach Mike Elko and Collin Klein have two starting-caliber quarterbacks in Conner Weigman and Marcel Reed. Both still need more reps, but in the limited time, both have shown traits for competing in the SEC

This weekend, A&M will host the Bowling Green Falcons. While not a football juggernaut, the Falcons are a well-balanced team on offense that can present some issues for the Aggie defense. Even with that being said, the Maroon & White shouldn’t have too much trouble this weekend, with Coach Elko making sure his team takes no games off.

Here is who the experts are picking to come out victorious in this week’s matchup:

Steven Lassan / Athlon Sports

Dan Lyons / Athlon Sports

Scooby Axson / USA Today

Paul Myerberg / USA Today

Shehan Jeyarajah / CBS Sports

Tom Fornelli / CBS Sports

As you can see, Texas A&M is the overwhelming favorite heading into the weekend, and they should pick up their second win of the season. They can jump a spot or two in the Top 25 poll if they look good in that win.

‘That is how we handle things’ HC Mike Elko reveals his QB plan for the rest of the season

Mike Elko is keeping Texas A&M’s quarterback announcement under wraps

Texas A&M’s 2024 season isn’t a rebuild amid head coach Mike Elko’s first season with the program. Last Saturday’s 33-20 win over Florida proved that this roster is ready to compete every week.

After backup quarterback Marcel Reed’s first career start, which was a rousing success, starting quarterback Conner Weigman’s shoulder injury continues to add to the building narrative that Elko has a quarterback dilemma on his hands.

Ahead of facing Bowling Green this weekend, Elko will go with the healthiest signal caller, Marcel Reed. However, after Wednesday’s practice, it was revealed that Weigman returned to throwing, while the reimaging of his AC joint showed no further damage.

During Elko’s weekly radio show on Wednesday, the first-year head coach made an interesting statement regarding the quarterback’s outlook, revealing that the fan base and the media alike will not know who will start weekly, especially if Weigman is a game-time decision for most of the season.

“People who get to know me will know that it will probably be a game-time decision for the rest of the season. That is how we handle things. We have a lot of real, honest conversations internally, but those stay internal.”

This is a strategic move to keep opponents guessing, especially concerning Marcel Reed’s versatility as a runner. In contrast, Weigman’s injury could keep him off the field longer than expected.

Texas A&M will host Bowling Green on Saturday, Sept. 21. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.

Texas A&M HC Mike Elko provides positve update on QB Conner Weigman’s shoulder

Conner Weigman is steadily progressing through his shoulder injury

Texas A&M’s recent 33-20 SEC road win over the Florida Gators has brought the Aggies back to the good graces of the fan base after ending a 10-game conference losing streak. At the same time, the offense finally looked the part behind backup quarterback Marcel Reed.

However, redshirt sophomore quarterback Conner Weigman’s shoulder injury was why Reed was given the starting opportunity in the first place, making his performance more impressive with his poise and veteran-like decision-making, impressing every Aggie fan and media member alike.

However, during Wednesday’s SEC Teleconference,  head coach Mike Elko stated that he has yet to name Saturday’s starting quarterback. After this week’s medical diagnosis, he provided a positive update on Weigman’s AC joint injury, which found no further damage.

“The imaging turned out good, so we did not find any more problems than what we were dealing with,” Elko stated on Wednesday. “It is an AC sprain, and everything else is very much intact. We are just in the process now of recovery, rehab and trying to figure out where he is able to get himself to.”

As Weigman continues to rehab this week, Marcel Reed, who completed 11/17 passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns while racking up 83 yards and another score on the ground, has solidified the No. 2 spot over junior quarterback Jaylen Henderson.

So far this week, Weigman has returned to throwing to test out his shoulder. His eventual return to the lineup hinges on the next two days.

“He was able to throw it around a little bit today, which is how Wednesdays have gone,” Elko stated. “We will see what it looks like through the back end of the week as we make our decision heading into Saturday.”

Texas A&M will host Bowling Green on Saturday, Sept. 21. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.

Texas A&M HC Mike Elko hasn’t chosen his starting QB vs. Bowling Green

Texas A&M’s starting quarterback vs. Bowling Green has yet to be announced

Texas A&M’s recent 33-20 SEC road win over the Florida Gators has brought the Aggies back to the good graces of the fan base after ending a 10-game conference losing streak. At the same time, the offense finally looked the part behind backup quarterback Marcel Reed.

Due to quarterback Conner Weigman’s shoulder injury, Reed was waiting and ready to take on the challenge. He passed his first test with flying colors after accumulating three touchdowns through the air and on the ground.

This week, ahead of Texas A&M’s week 4 home matchup vs. Bowling Green, Elko told reporters during Wednesday’s SEC Teleconference that he has yet to decide who will start under center against the Falcons as Weigman progresses with this shoulder. However, Elko quickly noted Marcel Reed’s advanced knowledge of the playbook.

“I do not think there is any part of the playbook that he can’t run.”

Reed’s performance should garner him another shot to prove his worth as a starter, but it’s no fault of Weigman, who is doing everything in his power to get back to 100% and help the team reach their goals, whether that’s as the starter or No. 2 option.

Texas A&M will host Bowling Green on Saturday, Sept. 21. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.
