Boston College hosted Duke last season, and the Eagles kept the Devils from covering a 13.5-point spread in a 72-61 setback on Feb. 12. BC did trail by 20 late in that game, but it also registered a few similar game results against Quadrant 1 opponents.

The Eagles are a slight lean but not worth a partial-unit play unless the price on 17.5 evened out to -110 or better.

There is an Under lean to this series as 5 of the last 6 meetings have ended that way, but both of these teams are capable of better shooting nights than they have thus far displayed.

The 15th-seeded Boston College Eagles (4-15) face the 10th-seeded Duke Blue Devils (11-11) Tuesday on the opening day of the ACC Tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C. Below, we analyze the Boston College-Duke college basketball odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Boston College finished last in the ACC with a 2-11 conference record. At 9-9, Duke is 10th and will likely miss the NCAA tourney for the first time since the 1994-95 season.

  1. Duke beat Boston College 83-82 (Jan. 6) in the only regular-season meeting between the two. Sophomore F Wendell Moore Jr. came off the bench and matched a career-high with 25 points for the Blue Devils, who failed to cover as 11.5-point home favorites. BC led by 16 late in the first half, but were outscored 48-39 in the second and came up a point short after the game was tied 75-all with 1:43 to go. All five Eagles starters scored in double figures, led by sophomore F CJ Felder’s career-high 24 points.
  2. The Eagles enter on a 2-game skid and have lost 6 of their last 7 games. They recently dropped an 80-76 decision as 4-point underdogs at Miami Friday. For the season, sophomore G Jay Heath’s 15.1 points per game leads four Eagles in double figures.
  3. Duke suffered an ugly 91-73 loss as a 3-point dog at rival North Carolina Saturday. The Blue Devils never led as they dropped a third consecutive game and finished the regular season without a winning record for the first time since 1994-95. Sophomore F Matthew Hurt leads Duke with 18.7 PPG and 6.2 RPG.
