During his tremendous run as Chiefs starting quarterback, Patrick Mahomes has been fortunate enough to win three Super Bowl titles. But he’s also been on the losing end of those games twice. It’s a tough spot for a quarterback to be in.
Still, no matter the defeat in that stage, Mahomes has managed to congratulate the winning quarterback. It was Tom Brady in 2021, and on Sunday, it was Jalen Hurts’ turn.
Following the Eagles’ dominant win in Super Bowl 59, cameras surrounded Mahomes and Hurts as the two quarterbacks met at midfield for a handshake. It was a great show of sportsmanship, considering Mahomes was seen tearful on the sidelines just moments earlier.
Though we couldn’t hear what was said (yet), Hurts clearly appreciated the gesture. Back when the Chiefs defeated the Eagles in 2023’s Super Bowl, we didn’t have such a handshake between Mahomes and Hurts given the on-field mayhem of a game-winning field goal.
This was a far different game, and a scene that sports fans can appreciate.
Think about all of the incredible players who’ve come from Alabama during Nick Saban’s regime alone.
Mark Ingram, Derrick Henry, Julio Jones. There’s plenty more where that came from on both sides of the ball. You can dig even deeper in Bama’s history to find even greater players, too.
Somehow, despite all of that talent, none of them have ever scored a touchdown in a Super Bowl.
No, you’re not reading that incorrectly.
No player drafted directly out of Alabama has ever scored a touchdown in a Super Bowl. Not until today, that is.
With this Jalen Hurts bomb to DeVonta Smith, the former Heisman trophy winner became the first Crimson Tide player to score a Super Bowl TD.
It’s finally happened! An Alabama player has scored a touchdown in the Super Bowl for the first time. Ever.
We knew Kendrick Lamar was petty, man. We all knew it. But, guys. There was no way we could know that he was this petty.
It was obvious that Kendrick was going to perform “Not Like Us.” It was the biggest song of 2024 and unquestionably the biggest of his career. There was no way that it wasn’t happening.
But for him to do it so pettily? Man. This dude is diabolical.
Yes, he did the “A Minor” part and the entire crowd sang it along with him. But, beyond that, he also brought out Serena Williams to hit a quick little c-walk during all this.
It was a quick moment. It was a brief moment. But it was a powerful moment. I just know this stung Drake.
This isn’t just Serena dancing for fun, though surely she’s having a ton of that. This is also some get-back on her end. And I know that has to be pretty sweet.
Here’s everything you need to know about the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show.
The Super Bowl is always an exciting time. These are the two best teams in football playing in one last game to determine the NFL’s champion. It doesn’t get any better than that. That’s what most people are tuned in to see.
But there are also a lot of people who show up to watch the game every year strictly for the concert.
For some people, the Super Bowl halftime show is arguably just as important as the game itself. They’re just here for the music.
This year, folks will be getting a real treat with Kendrick Lamar. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming 2025 Super Bowl halftime show.
Who is performing?

Again, it’ll be Kendrick Lamar doing the halftime show this year. This is his first headlining Super Bowl halftime performance, but he’s appeared on the stage before alongside Dr. Dre in 2022.
He released the hit song Not Like Us this year, and it won five Grammys on its own.
Is he playing “Not Like Us?”
Despite the legal controversy surrounding the song behind accusations he hurled at Drake, Lamar is reportedly set to play Not Like Us during the halftime show.

We’re not totally sure yet, but Apple Music has used SZA in the promotion of the halftime show. She seems like a likely candidate for a potential feature.
He won’t be. The NFL has never paid for any of its halftime acts to perform. Well, at least they haven’t paid the acts directly.
The league covers all expenses for the artist and also cover the production costs, according to Forbes. So, basically, this is just a free trip to the Super Bowl in exchange for also performing at halftime.
Plus, it usually brings a big boost to the artist’s streams, so expect to see a big Kendrick Lamar streaming bump across all platforms after the show.
Taylor Swift grew up in Pennsylvania. And up until July 2023, she publicly considered herself a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. But the past two years have brought on a dramatic shift — for obvious reasons.
That doesn’t mean that Eagles fans are going to be understanding about it.
Swift was at the Superdome on Sunday to support boyfriend Travis Kelce as the Chiefs looked to become the first team to win three straight Super Bowls. And despite Swift’s previous allegiance to the Eagles, she was clearly rooting for the Chiefs. During the first quarter, Swift was shown on the videoboard. And let’s just say that she didn’t expect her fellow Pennsylvanians to be *that* upset about her new team.
Here’s where you can watch Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show
Kendrick Lamar will be the halftime entertainment this year on Super Bowl Sunday at the Superdome in New Orleans.
It’ll be his first solo halftime performance for the Super Bowl, but this will be the second time he’s graced the stage. He made an appearance during Dr. Dre’s halftime performance in 2022.
Lamar stole all of hip-hop’s headlines this year behind his beef with Drake. His hit diss song, Not Like Us, won five awards at the Grammy’s this year and continues to be one of the most popular rap songs out there.
Whether he will perform the song at halftime during the Super Bowl is up for debate. We’ll all have to tune in to find out.

With the Super Bowl 59 matchup set between the Chiefs and Eagles, the two teams revealed their uniforms for Feb. 9’s game in New Orleans. Given that the Eagles are the designated home team, many fans hoped that the Eagles would turn to their amazing Kelly Green throwbacks for the Super Bowl.
But when Jalen Hurts and the Eagles take the field at the Superdome, they will be rocking a familiar look. We have the NFL to blame for that.
When the league walked back on its one-shell rule in 2022, it allowed teams to bring back alternate helmets. And in the Eagles’ case, it meant that the Kelly Green throwbacks were back in the rotation. The Eagles wore the Kelly Greens just twice this season — in Week 9 and Week 17. And for the Super Bowl, they will be going with the traditional midnight green home uniforms.

Though the Eagles did have their pick of uniforms for the game, their options were limited to the regular home or road white uniforms. That’s because NFL postseason guidelines prohibit teams from wearing alternate jerseys in the playoffs and Super Bowl.
The same question came up about the Lions’ alternate jerseys, and the team provided the specific rule to The Detroit Free Press:
“Optional uniforms (e.g., Alternate, Classic, Color Rush) may not be worn in the postseason. This is inclusive of optional helmets and pants paired with primary jerseys. Postseason uniform designation must include Primary Jersey color (team color or white) and Primary Pant color choices.”
The league did make an exception for the Rams in 2019, allowing them to wear their throwback uniforms. But the Rams were already moving to that color scheme full-time for the following season, and the league likely didn’t want the mismatched helmet, jersey and pants making an appearance in the Super Bowl.
The Eagles don’t have that problem — even if the Kelly Green set is top tier.
While tickets on the secondary market for the Super Bowl dropped in the lead-up to Sunday’s game in New Orleans, there isn’t anything cheap about attending the actual game.
That includes the food options.
With the exception of 2019’s Super Bowl in Atlanta — which continued Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s fan friendly pricing — the food selection has turned into a novelty of its own given the exorbitant prices. The Superdome continued that trend on Sunday, along with some team-specific food options.
Though some menu items were standard stadium pricing. the “Super Bowl ultimate nachos” were going for a steep $36. Seafood nachos also went for $25.
But it’ll be hard for any moment you see to top Brown signing off for the final time.
After getting an incredibly touching spiel from Mike Breen about how much the former coach and broadcaster meant to him in his career, he talked about his path to getting where he got and how much every person he met meant to him along his journey.
“Today was humbling. Very humbling. Because you come to work and you want to give everybody 100. But you don’t realize the lives that you cross when you do 50 years of this and two years in the ABA. 52 years in the pros,” Brown said.
That’s 52 years of excellence. Thank you for everything, Hubie.
Hubie Brown’s incredible 52 year career has finally come to a close. He’s impacted so many people on and off the court both on the sidelines and in the broadcast booth over these last five decades.
