‘Feed the pit’: Bills Mafia has a wild (but strangely on-brand) theory for Buffalo’s winning streak

Bills Mafia has a wild, probably inaccurate, but DEFINITELY on-brand theory for Buffalo’s win streak.

The Buffalo Bills are on a six-game winning streak and steamrolled the Pittsburgh Steelers during the NFL playoffs AFC wild card round. Bills Mafia seems to think there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation. It involves “feeding a pit.”

Let us start by saying that this is an entirely unsubstantiated theory. We have no proof (for now) that this is real, but we somehow found ourselves down a twisted rabbit hole that ended in the trenches of Bills Mafia. We then stumbled upon a WILD fan theory.

Rumors are swirling throughout Twitter and TikTok that Buffalo ended the season on a five-game winning streak and now subsequently beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday because there was a pit at the site of a new stadium being consistently “fed” with fans.

Naturally, this prompted all sorts of questions from us: What pit? There’s a pit? It needs to be fed? Is it like Little Shop of Horrors?

After AN INVESTIGATION, we could not substantiate this theory. Still, we did uncover a story from September of 2023 about a fan falling into a construction pit at the new stadium site.

We also found this “explanation” on TikTok and a wild Chris Pratt-inspired Bills “pit” video. Do with this information what you will.

LOOK: Bills fans deal with snow-filled Highmark Stadium

#BillsMafia did not let a little snow stop them:

There is a lot of snow in Orchard Park.

So much so, the Buffalo Bills couldn’t exactly clear it all out before hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday in the NFL’s Wild-Card round.

Bills fans, quite literally, had to dig themselves out. It made seating difficult at Highmark Stadium, but as usual, nothing slowed down Bills Mafia.

The Buffalo faithful (and to their credit, Steelers fans at the game too) used whatever means possible to dig out their spots in the stadium to watch some playoff football.

Check out images and video of the snow-filled seating below:

#BillsMafia:

Following the conclusion of the Buffalo Bills’ 21-14 win over the Miami Dolphins, the team home their fourth-straight AFC East title.

You better believe Bills Mafia was well aware. Following the final whistle, many Dolphins fans left Hard Rock Stadium (likely upset). Bills fans were not.

The Buffalo faithful decided to head down toward the lower bowl of the stadium and make sure they got their celebrations in.

Dion Dawkins claims Bills own Dolphins: ‘Miami is our city’

Dion from the top rope:

Sean McDermott thought the Bills used a full three-phase effort to beat the Dolphins.

Josh Allen noted how strong he felt his teammates came out in the second half to tie the game and eventually pull ahead.

Dion Dawkins… just felt the Bills own the Dolphins… and the city of Miami, specifically.

Following Buffalo’s 21-14 win over the Dolphins (11-6) which handed them the 2023 AFC East title, the Bills offensive lineman got personal.

Dawkins said the Bills, and Bills Mafia even more so, owns South Beach.

“Miami is our city, man. Bills Mafia runs through this place,” Dawkins said.

Ouch.

Dawkins’ full Miami slam can be found in the News 10 TV clip below:

WATCH: Bills Mafia welcomes team back home at Buffalo airport

Welcome home at the airport:

The Buffalo Bills got a warm welcome home despite the cold temperatures at the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport in the middle of the night.

The Bills beat the Dolphins, 21-14, to take the 2023 AFC East title. Despite it being the fourth season in a row that Buffalo has taken the divisional crown, Bills Mafia was still up for the celebration and welcome party.

According to WKBW-TV, a healthy-sized grouping of the Bills faithful welcomed the team home at the airport.

Cameras were there to catch the action, and they did exactly that. Check out some of the clips shared from the airport during the early hours of the morning in the list below:

Josh Allen shows appreciation to traveling Bills fans in Miami

Allen was showing #BillsMafia some love after the win:

Bills quarterback Josh Allen wanted to make sure traveling fans of his team knew they were appreciated for their efforts on Sunday night in Miami.

The Bills (11-6) beat the Dolphins (11-6) by a 21-14 final. Buffalo is the AFC East champion once again.

After the final whistle, handshakes, and more, Allen went out of his way to make sure Bills Mafia felt the love they gave him during the game.

The QB did a bit of a lap around Hard Rock Stadium, waving and yelling back to fans who stuck around after the final whistle to celebrate with the players still on the field.

Check out Allen’s gesture in the clips below:

Bills Mafia, folding tables, and fire happened again

Yikes:

Don’t try this at home.

In fact, don’t try it at all.

It’s not exactly the look some in Bills Mafia are going for, but it did happen again prior to the team’s 27-21 win against the Patriots.

The Week 17 matchup was slated as the Bills’ final home game of the regular season. It remains to be seen if the team play there again in the postseason.

Just in case that doesn’t happen, some fans went a bit too far as these clips below show:

WATCH: Josh Allen pumps up Bills Mafia from sideline vs. Cowboys

Josh is always into it:

Bills quarterback Josh Allen was well into the team’s 31-10 win against the Cowboys.

Even from the sideline, Allen was getting involved.

It’s not clear exactly when it was. In the background it looks like the Cowboys are about the kick the ball off. Allen was fully engaged, regardless.

Cameras caught the Bills QB yelling and signaling to the crowd, pumping them up.

WATCH: Jordan Phillips led Bills fans in ‘Shout Song’ at Arrowhead Stadium

Shout:

It’s hard to make it all the way through a Buffalo Bills game without seeing Jordan Phillips bonding with fans.

The defender is always known for waving to the crowd while on the field.

Late on during a big win, 20-17, against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14 he was at it again. Above and beyond this time.

Team cameras caught the sights and sounds of Phillips leading Bills Mafia in the “Shout Song” on the sideline at Arrowhead Stadium. A beautiful cherry on top for fans at the stadium taking in the victory.

WATCH: Bills Mafia stuck around Arrowhead Stadium to celebrate Chiefs win

#BillsMafia:

A penalty that upset the Chiefs took place late in the Bills’ 20-17 win in Week 14.

Do you think Bills Mafia at Arrowhead Stadium cared all that much after their team won?

The only answer is no, and here’s a video to prove it.

Following the final whistle, Bills fans flooded the lowerbowl of the stadium to show their team some support. It was likely a much-appreciated gesture.
