Joe Mixon a late, surprise add to Bengals injury report with ‘questionable’ tag

The Bengals have announced that running back Joe Mixon is a late addition to the Week 4 injury report being listed as questionable .
It’s a seemingly random turn of events for the Bengals, who are already dealing with a new injury to Mike Daniels.
Mixon has just 164 yards on a 3.2 average this year behind a struggling offensive line

Eagles land high on list of NFL teams with the most to gain or lose in Week 3

Eagles are the No. 2 team in the NFL with the most to gain or lose in Week 3

1-2 sounds way better than 0-3 and especially when you have three straight games against top-tier competition. The Eagles are in need of a convincing win and Sunday will go a long way towards establishing some confidence going forward.

Pro Football Focus recently broke down the five teams with the most to gain or lose in Week 3 and the Birds landed high on the list at No. 2 behind the Houston Texans.

2. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
The Eagles — like the Texans — are a team that was thought to be a playoff contender entering the season but is trying to stave off an 0-3 start to the year. Unlike Houston, though, the quarterback position has been the major problem in Philadelphia.

There is no quarterback in the NFL right now with a lower passing grade than Carson Wentz (42.7), and he’s one of just two quarterbacks who has seen over 30% of his targeted passes get charted as uncatchable through two weeks. It would be one thing if it were just inaccuracy, but Wentz is also giving defenses ample opportunity to get the ball back for their offense. His eight turnover-worthy plays are the most in the NFL. PFF’s Mike Renner looked a little bit deeper into what was wrong with Wentz and the Eagles’ offense this past week, and there’s a lot to unpack.

Even in a weak NFC East, they need to figure things out quickly to realize their hopes of getting back to the postseason. Luckily for them, a banged-up Cincinnati Bengals’ defense that just got rolled by the Cleveland Browns is a good opportunity to do so. Cleveland was in a similar spot after a disappointing 2019 season and opening performance against the Baltimore Ravens. Philadelphia has a lot riding on being able to follow suit and get their rhythm back offensively.

This is a must-win game and will say a lot about where Carson Wentz stands mentally and what kind of stranglehold that Doug Pederson truly has on this team.

Daily Fantasy: The one Bengals player you need to start in Week 1 on DraftKings

A new contract, a new season and a much bigger workload for Bengals’ bell cow Joe Mixon, the best Bengals’ bet for DFS in Week 1.

The 2020 NFL season is upon us and that means fantasy football is back as DraftKings and other platforms provide the ultimate opportunity for virtual success on Sunday. In Week 1, with a rookie at quarterback (Joe Burrow) and a star wideout returning from injury (AJ Green), the obvious choice to start in fantasy football this week is Joe Mixon.

Blessed with a new contract, Mixon is set for a breakout campaign as a running back and a solid Week 1 performance against the Los Angeles Chargers could be the springboard towards a huge season for the former Oklahoma Sooners star.

Mixon is a top-8 running back in DraftKings non-PPR rankings and he’s entering this season confident after averaging 17.4 PPR points per game during the final seven weeks of the 2019 season and after having at least 136 rushing yards in three of his final four outings, along with at least 3 catches per outing.

Such output means Mixon is taking the next step as a pass catcher and he should be Joe Burrow’s security blanket during a rookie season that’ll have some rough moments.

Mixon’s opponent, the Chargers’ defense and special teams, had some disappointing moments last season in part to playmaking safety Derwin James missing 11 games. James will now miss the entire 2020 NFL season, adding more stress on the backend. James would have been the perfect counter to Mixon for the Chargers in the box.

With the return of offensive tackle Jonah Williams (shoulder), look for Mixon to test the Chargers front seven early and often on Sunday.
